If Newcastle are in financial trouble(FFP) and the fee is reasonable he could be a summer purchase. He’s played in the league and can get goals. I’d like to see how he and Solanke finish this season after a really good half year so far.

For every Vini , Rodrygo, and maybe Endrick(we’ll see) , there are plenty Gabigol, Malcom,Arthur. Again not against finding a gem but our recruitment is too focused on unearthing the next. We need established players who can raise the level of the team now. Not maybe in 3-4 years.

Those type of players thrive in la liga because there’s more space and the focus is not pace and power but technical ability.

He should be he’s 6’4 and strong former Bayern Munich youth player. He has a £50m release clause but apparently that’s only for Bayern. I’d rather spend the £50m-£65m on him than £103m on VO or £69m on Vlahovic.

And also Joshua Kirkzee He does the ball carrying like Jackson but is way more clinical and tough shot Benzema who seems like he’s fed up with life in Saudi Arabia

Again our striker solution is not as simple as just having a CF we also need someone who can get the ball into the striker in dangerous positions. But the lad from Brighton or Vlahovic are not the type of strikers we need. we should be all in for Lautaro and if not him, Openda, or Jonathan David. These type of forwards are great at linking up but can also get into the box and finish well.

It seems Poch is playing inverted midfield - with Caicedo at the base and Conor and Enzo playing ahead of him. It’s great in attack if the two 8’s are bagging goals on a consistent bases but when we lose the ball and the opponents break we are under immense pressure. Caicedo is not Kante or Prime Matic or Mikel who can hold down the 6 by himself. He may get there eventually but it’s a lot of work for one player. We need to balance the midfield more. If we want to be successful we need a midfielder who plays the ball forward because he has vision (i.e. the Isak goal from Man City vs Newcastle) can unlock a defence with a single pass. We had that with Cesc and Jorginho to a lesser extent. I would have loved if we signed an 8 who has this type of ability and can chip in with more goals. Too me it feels like too many of our players play with their head down and it slows our progress up the pitch.
