I suspect you love him and want him to be great but I think you're gonna have to tone down your expectations a bit, and take our system and his instructions in mind. Great players play great because they get supported by great players (with the exception of some football freaks). Individual performances are hard to pull off in a system that is built around defending. There's a reason Mata has been rather poor when he gets a chance. I don't blame it on form. There's a reason Hazard plays better when he can combine with Mata as well, but this hampers our defense (or what Mourinho expects from our defense). He's no Ronaldo, I doubt he'll ever be as good or even close, but he's still a player most teams would want in a heartbeat. Just enjoy what we have, he's only 22 yo and with some proper singings I'm sure he will raise his level further.

While I admire your spirit, in my opinion if a player doesn't deliver people are allowed to criticize. It's just a reality that he has been crap every time he got a chance. That doesn't mean he is a bad player, but fans who don't know him that well have drawn conclusions, and you can't even blame them. This is the pinnacle of football. You don't deliver, you don't play, especially with 5 players in the team on your position. I'm sure he'll be fine wherever he goes

I think the point is that we need someone with the ability to link our defence to attack through consistent quality passing. That is what we lack and want at the minute, not a stand-in for Ramires

I can understand the folk discarding him as rubbish, because he's been total crap for us. It's a bit sad though that he's being labeled worthless by some, who have obviously not seen the Bundesliga last year or Belgiums qualifying campain. Understandably, but sad.
