Your post clearly implied he needs to assist and score more? You say he needs to be "a risktaker" because his teammates "don't contribute anything". While that statement holds some thruth, how is that not expecting him to DO more? I only replied because I found it an interesting post. Those are all fair points that I'm not disputing. Still, being our best player in pre-season and Motm in his first game; I think it was ridiculously unfair to be dropped 5 games in a row after his first real bad game for us, which must have had a massive impact on his mental state. As for me writing that, I can't remember in what context I said that. I was probably frustrated he wasn't able to convince when he finally got a chance. The sale WAS a very good deal at the time, for him and for us(financially).

Let's forget Mata for a second. What performances? His mom performance vs Hull, his game vs United and his 3 appearances in the league cup and CL? Do you want to seriously compare that to players who got to play week in week out? During that time his performances for the NT were abysmal as well, which led to Wilmots telling him he needed to play more, because, surprise surprise, players need to play if you want them to show any kind of form. There is no logical reason as to why he didn't get to play more after the United game, other than the fact he was bought for peanuts compared to the other stars we overpaid massively for. It's not hindsight either, not for me anyway, I even got bullied by Henrique for saying KDB was a better player than Oscar. I remember laughing (bitterly) when we sold him, because anyone who had watched him on a regular basis for Genk, Bremen and the NT knew his quality. Mourinho should have seen it too.

The mistake wasn't selling him, it was benching him, making him want to leave. In my opinion if you decide as a coach that Willian, Schurrle and Oscar are better players than Mata and KDB you've made a mistake, however you want to spin it.

Then again, comparing his goal ratio with a striker is pointless and Bale was one freak season. Add the fact he has taken a lot less penalties than last season and the countless pre-assists and made goals his teammates failed to score. Expecting him to do more while he's carrying us every week is a bit strange. As you said yourself, the problem lies with his co-AM's who need to step the fuck up.

That's not a fact, that's your interpretation You fail to see anything in context, he was motm in his first game, got dropped for no reason, and only made some cameos off the bench after that if I'm not mistaken and maybe a start in the league cup. He's no robot, players need playtime. But whatever, I'm not gonna get through to you. He plays for a smaller team than Chelsea, true, that's a fact. Doesn't mean FUCK all though. =D He's not playing in a potatoleague in a potatoclub. He's been voted the best attacking mid in Germany in front of Robben, Gotze, Muller, Reus. That's a fact too.
