I was dubious about his passing range based off of the u20 stuff I seen but he looked a lot more positive last night/this morning with less time on the ball than he did for the Brazil u20s, with a lot more time. Whether or not he can hack it against Higher quality opposition is another thing.

I’m sorry but that is a major injury to Enzo or Caicedo (if we get him) from being an absolute disaster. Cannot expect Santos and Casadei to be fully depended on, particularly when they will have ups and downs as all young players do. Anyone who is seriously basing their capabilities of playing competitively in the PL off of a friendly against Wrexham needs their head checked. But this happens every time we have a pre-season. 100% need somebody else in there with a bit more seniority as well as Enzo and Caicedo if he comes for depth/options. Be daft to go in to the season so lightweight in MF. But this is the situation.

Strasbourg will have some team by end of this window by the looks of it. Clear the clubs visions and priorities aren’t where they should be which should be strengthening the first team. Not focusing more on getting players for this multi club model idea.

If theres any chance Kimmich is available, go for it. Would say yes he is still someone who has weaknesses particularly phyiscally as he isn’t the quickest per say but his quality, wealth of experience and competitiveness as a player is hard to find. Barella would be next choice but to utilise him effectively we would have to play 433 and that means Enzo as a pivot which is no good either.

Yes, a wing back is basically an attacking full back who starts 20 or 25 yards higher up the pitch than they would normally do…. A box to box midfielder is a box to box midfielder. I’ll go out on a limb and say it, 99% chance that the only way we will see Reece playing in CM is if we play inverted full backs under Poch. And we won’t if his Paris, Spurs and Southampton teams are to go off of. More chances of seeing him as a RCB in a back 3 as we did before with Tuche v Leicester in particular IIRC.

And well if he’s one of the best wingbacks in the game whys play him as a central midfielder? Does that not totally contradict how good he is as a fullback/wingback? I mean its 90% likely we go to play with a back 4 under Poch. Look at the likes of Walker and Trippiers development under Poch. If Reece can cut out the slackness in his game at times as well as the injuries, he has the potential to be the best right back in world football for years. Putting him at CM would be a waste.

I don’t see why people want to change him from RB to CM. He is one of the best and most complete fullbacks in the game when he is fully fit, yet people think we should play him as a CM? Mind blowing. Be like Man City playing Haaland as a CB. Also above someone mentioned fitness and injuries and trying him in midfield, saying he could be like Essien. I am sorry but central midfield is probably the toughest position to play physicality. You have to cover so much ground. You have to be ultra fit, I wouldn’t dare risk putting a RB who’s broken down so many times in the past 2 years in arguably the most physically challenging position on the pitch.

I hope so but we were also linked in January also. Two windows too many to be linked to him. If there is any genuine interest I will be blown away.

See the Maguire links are back. I am sorry but if we even entertain the idea of signing Maguire, the whole footballing infrastructure put in place, all these guys, all fucking stupid. Either that or the football boffins up stairs don’t have an alternative which is even worse. To have shifted Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic and RLC in the last 12 months and having only Enzo as a new midfield player in that time is a pretty poor transfer strategy. Hopefully we seal the Caicedo deal (price will be ridiculous though either way) and another good level, experienced midfielder at least and soon to make their integration smoother. We will be in big trouble if we do not.

But if Brighton have a poor season like what Wolves and Burnley after achieving European football - is it really a good move? Or even if we finish above them?
