Needs to be a bit more clinical. Game vs City and today vs the toon he should of had at least 2 goals.

Chelsea lodge complaint about Clattenberg
OneMoSalah replied to bababoom's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Apparently he called Mikel a "monkey" and Mata a "Spanish twat" .... Yeah disgraceful, shocking. -
Get some decent refs tbh never mind technology!
-
Alan Hansen had a field day ripping in to him on MOTD.
-
Apparently Mark Clattenburg called him a Spanish twat. Absolute disgrace.

Was out of position for the second goal. Made a few other mistakes like the shoulder pass to a Utd player when he should of just headed the ball away and when he won the tackle on Rafael and tried some stupid skill instead of a simple pass. Slightly improvement though.

Was looking at the movement of the 3 magicians again and it is terrific. Analysed the game myself and its brilliant to watch, pity we lost the game due to refereeing decisions.Totally overrun Carrick and Cleverly in midfield, only problem was our defence today for the first two goals and Fernando Torres playing shit. Still major major improvement from the Shaktar game. KTBFFH

COME ON YOU BOYS IN BLUE XD

Fuck wow, Josh sent Marcus Olsson flying.... he must be on roids...

I think he means as in the timing of the subs not exactly their main tactics to start off with, for example AVB's sub vs Man Utd in the 3-1 game. Lampard off Anelka on, few minutes in Torres goal via Anelka through ball. Was early in the second half when we were 3-0 down and it was needed... it worked as we reacted and scored!

Torres didn't come to England as a "skinny" player. He isn't renowned for bossing defenders like Drogba but people knew he was strong enough to take a hit and cause problems for defenders using his body. Also Torres was lightning quick unlike Falcao and Vidic.. so yeah you were saying... Falcao functioned in AVBs fluid system, yes but whats the bet he had the least outfield passes as he usually just offloaded the ball to the wingers/back to the midfielders like most poachers. How many key passes and assists did he get, probably no assists and very little key passes, unlike Torres who got like 20 something assists and a lot of key passes last season due to being a more complete striker who can find his teammates s as well as the net (even though he rarely does). In fact I bet Falcao rarely even dribbled with the ball as much as you see with Torres, Rooney, RvP, Sturridge, Messi, Villa etc. I continuously go on about our system needing a specific system because it does need a specific sort of striker, a complete one, who can easily pick out the run of a teammate if hes slightly deeper after doing a movement dragging defenders out to create space for wingers/attacking midfielders to run in behind like what you see with Messi and whoevers flanking him at Barca. They don't have to be Messi but they have to be some sort of decent footballer with a footballing brain or they would never have the awareness to see and make the pass. How many times in that video did Falcao have his back to goal and turn and just smash the ball in? 0. Zilch. Thats why I mean by the fact hes rubbish with his back to goal. Falcao has scored goals in every league hes been in but he was the star of each team basically. River Plates best player, Portos best player and Atleticos best player. He wouldn't be Chelsea's best player for sure. Look at the effect that had on Torres too, you might think oh he'll succeed but hes got to have that sort of mentality that hes not always going to be the main man too.

I think I haven't. I've clearly said he excels at finishing with both feet and his head. He doesn't excel at anything else in particular. I haven't said Falcao is a bad player at all, he is a top quality player but I don't think hes as amazing as everyone else does. He can finish, sure but what does he offer to the general play? Nothing really. The way we are playing we need a striker who can offer something to the play (assists, key passes, isolate defenders for midfielder runners to go into space etc) I think Falcao is just a goalscorer, that is all. Cahill and Luiz aren't exactly big strong physically imposing center backs also. You don't see either of them absolutely destroying the opponent using their body strength. Falcao destroyed them two because on the night they were fucking shit as well. Go back and read that thread, everyone said Falcao is class but if you give him that much room and time he will punish you and he rightfully did punish us. I think using that game as reference point shows exactly what I mean, if you get him with his back to the goal he is useless but when hes facing the goal with space and in the box he will score. Ok bar 6 or 7 of them goals in that video which were penalties he created like 3 himself. Most of his goals he relies of service and if you cannot see that then you are blind or in denial.

Being a Celtic fan (well kind of, being Scottish naturally supported them first but as SPL died in quality over recent years not as big a follower now) as well as a Chelsea one I've seen Wanyama play and he is an absolute gem. Celtic paid 900k for this kid and hes worth at least 12 times that now after good tutelage from Neil Lennon helping him steadily become one of the best talents in Britain. I think Lennon rating him at 25 million is a bit much but still I'd say hes worth 10-12 million because hes still 21 and has a long long way to go but still has a whole load of talent. Hes got everything. Strength, versatility, power, high passing rates, great shooting (see video of goal vs Hearts and Dundee), threat in the air, good at tackling, extremely brave, scores goals and for a big man can shift a bit too despite not naturally being pacey. Perhaps his distribution of the ball usually goes sideways or backwards but he can provide a killer pass as well (as he showed against Rangers last season where he outmuscled a player and threaded a beatiful pass for Samaras that was intercepted well by Kyle Bartley). Perhaps he should be given another season/season and a half at Celtic as working with Neil Lennon has helped him progress something crazy like most of the players he has signed since taking over. Plus hes getting vital experience in the CL with Celtic too. He was impressive vs Barca, showed great discipline along with Kayal, Ledley, Brown etc. Hes been compared to the Bison too, or he was when he first signed for Celtic. Goal vs Hearts: Goal vs Dundee: Video of him in general, clip of that pass for Samaras (0:35s in) and him being brave and going to go in wit his head in a challenge with a Rennes player (1:13s in).

Hopefully Bremen will continue to play him through out the season as he is really becoming one of their best players.

I have to be honest, if United go for the diamond we might have a problem in all fairness. Hernandez has a point to prove and bagged 2 goals in his last game, RvP is scoring for fun and Rooney can always step it up and do something quality when he wants. Also that ugly cunt Welbeck is a world class diver. Oscar might have to do a job on Rooney like he did on Pirlo and Arteta if they play the diamond to try and prevent him from influencing their attacks and general play. Still hoping for 3 points, we are more than capable of sticking 3 or 4 past a rather shit defensively Man Utd especially if we get going from the kick off. Early goal would kick it off for us too, only fear I have is if Luiz and Cahill play rather poorly.... then we could be in for a long game,...
-
I meant like if he was constantly contesting high balls vs Vidic and that he wouldn't win. Hes 5 ft 9 and apart from being good at scoring headers, is poor at winning them to knock down for his teammates. I'm not saying we need a targetman, we need a complete striker...
-
Good strikers are selfish sometimes. Its their personal drive, ambition and confidence in themselves to try and win it by themselves. Maradona for example was extremely selfish but very confident and believed in his own ability where he dribbled round 5 England players(?) before scoring that goal in the World Cup. He wasn't exactly a pure number 9 striker but still... Sturridge has the self belief that Torres doesn't and the confidence too.. might as well give him a go. He may be selfish but I've seen Didier in the past take the ball and shoot from 40 yards or shoot a freekick from 40 yards when he should cross it too.. he believed he was capable of doing so and if Sturridge feels the same about somethings we should let him try it and see what he can offer..

The worst time in the weekend for Chelsea to lose?
OneMoSalah replied to Tomo's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Whenever Chelsea lose be it weekend or midweek it is bad timing imo because you know someone's going to mention it to you at one point or not... but then you're just like "Please fuck off, where were yous in last years Champions League final? Oh wait, your team weren't there." and everything goes back to being ok I suppose. -
Well in my opinion Dzeko wouldn't have been a poor mans signing, if we had signed him in Janaury 2010 instead of Torres he would have been a perfect sub to come on for Didier/Anelka. Why? Hes able to create his own goals, strong, good in the air, good finisher with both feet and his head, good dribbler, good at shooting outside the box, brilliant hold up play and good link up play with the midfielders. Whereas Falcao is a good finisher with both feet and his head and thats it. For scoring a whole load of headers his ability to win headers and knock it down to his teammates are rather poor than what you'd expect too... he solely relies on his teammates for assists too (who basically give up their own qualities just so he can get chances to score) or defensive errors. Nothing else in that particular list of positives I typed for Dzeko would be in Falcao's list of positives. We need a complete striker to play upfront who can link with the midfielders, provide for them as well as score for himself. Do you think you'll see Falcao coming out of the box to link the play with midfielders this season? I think you'll probably find he won't. Falcao is effectively useless with his back to goal, he isn't too slow turning but has rather weak shooting from outside the box. Falcao is a poacher whereas Dzeko is more complete footballer. Another question would Falcao dominate say big strong defenders like Vidic(before injury), Kompany or Lescott? Probably not. Whereas in 2009 (I think), Dzeko played for Wolfsburg in the CL vs United and absolutely dominated Vidic and Ferdinand.... I think he scored at least once or twice too.. also the Manchester derbys Dzeko has been a consistent performer and coped fairly well against Vidic, Ferdinand, Evans etc. each time. Falcao is ideal for a team to be built around but when you have players like Juan Mata and Fernando Torres... you build the team around them (how Robbie sees it imo) by adding players like Oscar and Hazard who can get the best out of Juan and Fernando as well.
-
looks a bit like Sturridge in the way he plays just perhaps a bit stronger as you can see when he holds that defender up in the video. Why not take a punt, I doubt our scouts would be looking at him if he wasn't decent....
-
Let's be honest, Mata is a no. 10, Hazard is a no. 10 and Oscar is also a no. 10.... Players who specify in crossing the ball constantly are usually fullbacks and pure wingers. The three of them are in the team to create and score goals not constantly launch the ball in to a target man basically. If Falcao moved here he would have to adapt to the system not the other way around, same with Nando 2 seasons ago. I reckon Falcao would fail to hit over 30 goals p/ year in the current system due to a high percentage of his goals being headers/volleys/tap ins from a lot of crosses but if he's really a top player surely he would adapt? Still I feel a player like Dzeko would be better suited tbh. He's got a footballing brain, which I feel Nando and Falcao don't. Nando runs instead of passing when he should, rarely see Dzeko do that.
-
Well a bit of the forum did try and tell a large minority of the forum that but everyone thought because he could score 30 goals a season in Portugal he was probably worth it. It seemed more or less everyone wanted him until we got Hazard and Oscar..
-
Too soon for Terry to leave tbh but we will see come January.
-
Yes but he needs a bit more meat on his bones if you will. Not a lot but a bit more, hes incredibly lightweight its unreal.
