And THIS is why post season tours are just stupid.

What a weird way to 'equate' things. By that logic, Bradford would have taken the EPL by storm! I think the way we play is perfect to counter Madrid who had very large and obvious wholes in their system this season that I am confident we would have been able ro exploit.
-
WWWDLWDWWDDWWDDWWWWDWWDLW We played smartly in the second half of the season and we would have countered Madrid's approach because they were not at all difficult to beat. Anyway that's besides the point which was: Names alone don't make a great team.
-
Again it's not about individuals although of course that helps. This year we would have probably tore that Madrid side a new one despite all the names they had because their system was not working.
-
And turn into Madrid with probably the worst trophies per investment ratio? No thanks. Teams and systems win CLs, individuals don't. I think that should be very clear by now.

More importantly, what's with the Iron Man figure?!

Hazard will be the first name on the sheet. This is a marketing event and he's our most marketable player. I don't like it but that's the reality.

This looks photoshopped but a man can dream..

2-2 now! What a half!

Game has been well better than expected. No idea why Dnipro sat back when they took the lead, they are well capable of matching Seville.

I am certain that his name has somehow somewhere been flipped. It just has to actually be Abdul Rahman Baba or Baba Abdul Rahman.

I'm sorry, sir. Please sir, I didn't know Well what do you expect when you so blatantly and needlessly disrespect a Chelsea player and legend on a Chelsea board? The point I was attempting to get across and which you seem to have missed is: Let's please move on from this....let's call it 'debate'.

Alright, ladies, put the handbags away Let's try to get back on topic, please.

Charlie Colkett seems to be traveling with the team as well.

Wait, FIFA are corrupt?! I would never have guessed!!

No longer available

Monaco don't want to pay his wages anymore which is why they set up the loan this season to the most desperate club in the world and they'll try to do it again next season, we're not desperate. If Diego can have a successful operation on his hamstring and is thus expected to miss a lot less games, I'd be happy with Solanke as third choice. Else, Chicharito would be a brilliant third choice and offer us something different than both Diego and Remy. Madrid have not taken the option to sign him and utd don't want him so he'll be available for cheap.

Which loanees have a future at the club?

I think his pace, physical strength and finishing are quite clearly his strong points... He has a great curling shot technique and his general shooting is pretty good, but when it comes to things like passing, crossing and even just ball control and dribbling (he uses his pace to dribble) his technique is well below the standards of players at this time. I don't know much about his personal life but I could tell from watching him that he probably didn't join a football academy until he was relatively old or something like that. There's just something awkward about his technique and his general movement and play in relation to that of his teammates. -
Maybe I am harsh but it is true. He chose to end his career at the top when he moved to Monaco at the best moment of his career. He now uses his name and past glories to get the most money. The Kalou example was to show how poor a league he was playing in, so you can't really say it was only one bad season when he was semi retired the season before. Most footballers who have suffered a crutiate ligament tear will tell you that it never heals 100% and you never get your pace back. I think Falcao is done and he knows it and trying to cahs in on his name which is why he chose his the club that paid the most. Simple as. It is beyond me why we should the ones taking this nonsensical risk on a player like that. The chances of him returning to anything close to what he showed at Atletico are about the same as you winning the lottery.
-
Best option for him. I think he'd do well in Italy if he can stay away from injuries.

No, Traore. Bamford can hold a ball up pretty well and linkup with his teammates. Pretty selfless on the ball as well. Can't say any of that about Traore. -
One beyond terrible season after a semi retired season in Monaco where he was out-scored by Salomon Kalou with a weaker Lille team. He's not getting his main asset, his pace, back after that injury, and it's evident that he has lost his finishing touch. There is literally NOTHING at the moment that would make anyone want him except his name. He's showed nothing footballing wise that would make a club like Chelsea want him in a long time. I think we've had enough of signing washed up ex-stars because they are marketable.

How the fuck is Falcao still a thing?! I guess I should not be surprised that he still has his fans when even Torres still had his right to the end of his Chelsea career..

I'd say Pasalic has ten times the chance that Bertrand Traore has. People give way too much weight on goals scored and hence hype up strikers. Traore scores goals yes, but he has bad decision making, even worse technique and you might as well be playing with ten men when the ball is not at his feet. I know that's harsh, but we always overlook glaring weaknesses in youngsters like these and then moan when they don't make it. As for the youth player with the most chance of making it here, it's been my opinion for more than two seasons that that is RLC and I'm very happy that Jose seems to think so as well. From the loanees, to answer the thread title, I had high hopes for Atsu, but his Everton loan was a big failure, maybe with a good loan next season he can rekindle his chances.
