Would've preferred we sold him, but I guess the board are still betting that there is a small chance he can regain some of his old self. BTW, are we or Madrid paying his wages?
I swear sometimes some people watch different games than I do! He was one our rare decent performers yesterday. Some of what he did, like when he managed to keep the ball between four Madrid players before getting past all of them, were just brilliant. MOTM for me.
Started for Boro today. Currently losing 2-1 to Millwall with 30mins to go. EDIT: Looks like he didn't have the best of games but he did play the full 90 mins: http://www.oneboro.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=4156&page=32
Didn't really expect us to do any serious business yesterday, thankfully we did all the business we need early on. The board did a good job to get rid of Essien's wages, though I am a bit disappointed Malouda chose money over football. An excellent transfer window for us nonetheless.
Well it was truly a terrible game on our part, there's no denying that. However, I don't think it deserves all this somewhat of an over-analysis.The team never showed up to the game, the defense was having an awful match, RDM got his tactics completely wrong, and almost no one in the team showed any desire especially after the second goal. I'm just glad it didn't happen in something like a CL or important PL match. But at the end of the day, we got a couple of millions from the match, and no injuries. Would I have wanted us to win instead? Of course! But I honestly believe that the best we could do after a match like that is forget about it, move on, and try to compensate in the next match.
Because whenever he was on the pitch he made things happen. If not by scoring himself or assisting, then by taking on 2 or 3 defenders and beating them or sending in perfect crosses or long passes. That number is extremely distorted since all of his appearances, as far as I remember, in the league were from the bench, often for mere 5 mins. He was by far Juve's best forward despite not getting chances by Conte.
I envy you, I wanted him to Celtic so I can still watch him play lol You obviously didn't see him ripping the Serie A last season whenever he was on the pitch. There is no such thing as too old for Del Piero, he is immortal!
You can't be serious. We're talking about the team that finished sixth in the PL last season + Hazard vs the undefeated champions of Italy who have also strengthened during the summer. I think we might have a slight advantage, especially that most Juve players don't have much CL experience. But to say we are in a different level is very deluded.
