  1. It was probably worse with Snowden. The US actually tried to hijack Bolivia's presidential plane! Not only was that an act of piracy, but under international law an act of aggression against all of Bolivia.
  2. I actually know how to solve the issue but don't want to tell him so he would be forced to stick around! No seriously @Kostas, I actually think I know how to solve it. It's in your profile settings, not the app. Go to 'Manage Followed Content' --> 'Members' and just uncheck the people whose posts you don't want to see, or you could just unfollow everyone.
  3. @Kostas so you don't want to read my and @LDN Blue's posts? No idea, man. Try checking the settings of app or just unfriend us...it's not like we ever got anything out of this friendship but hurtful words!
  4. Tough one. As I've already said, I'd take Allegri over Conte, though would be happy with either here. Simone is obviously a great proven manager, but I personally don't like him. I feel he's like the Diego Costa of managers! So that's just a personal preference nothing technical about it. Sampaoli has undoubtedly done wonders with Chile, but he's never managed a club in Europe before and I'm not sure Chelsea is a good place to start. Just feel he might be a bit overwhelmed and needs time to adjust and we all know how much time is offered here... Griezmann would be perfect, though I would not at all be upset if he decides to bring Dybala with him!
  5. So the UN have officially ruled (expected to formally come out tomorrow) that the UK is breaking the law in arbitrarily detaining Julian Assange. UK's expected response? To break international law and to continue to detain him in the Ecuadorian embassy... It's quite incredible. The British government has spent almost 13.8 MILLION pounds on this siege and no one says a word, but let in a few hundred refugees and the whole nation erupts in protest about wasting their tax money on them....
  6. More flat. The second striker (Tevez last season, Dybala this season) often either drops into the hole to link up when needed, or runs beyond when the taller/stronger striker steps up to win long balls. It's rather hard to defend against the two different approaches. We (Chelsea) ourselves have struggled against this many times, especially against smaller teams.
  7. Haha To be fair, I do have a clear advantage watching Juve weekly. I'm just happy I can add stuff most on here don't know about this particular debate.
  8. Conte was actually the one who installed the 3-5-2 formation in Juve and his was indeed similar to the one Rodgers tried at Liverpool Juve's current system though, is different than those two 3-5-2s. It's a lot more dynamic and fluid and can turn into 4-4-2 instantly with Evra dropping back to make a back four and either Assamoah or Pogba can play left midfield. And it's always a 4-4-2 in defense. Plus, for large parts of last season and on a few occasions this season, Allegri has played 4-4-2. I'm actually very excited to get either of Conte or Allegri because I'd really like to see us play with 2* up top again. I think it's prime time to go back to that.
  9. Juve never lost the winning mentality even when they didn't win a title for 5 seasons. That's because the team still had a lot of the core players from pre 2006 such as Buffon, Chiellini, Del Pierro and even Nedved on the board. The atmosphere around the club was probably worse when Allegri came in than when Conte took over. There were a lot of 'political' inside the club and the board was being accused of not spending enough and not getting Conte the players he wanted. There were also issues inside the squad. Issues that Conte himself had contributed quite a lot to, if I might add. Worse than all of that, though, was that almost everyone predicted and wanted Allegri to fail and he had HUGE pressure on him and he went out in his first season and nearly won the treble. Conte, in contrast, had very little pressure on him in his first season because Juve were not supposed to win the title, they weren't even favorites to make top 3!
  10. Factually incorrect. Conte's original team that won the league unbeaten was basically assembled from scraps. But even since then, Juve have been outspent in the market by Roma, Napoli and even Inter. From the XI that played Barcelona in the CL final last season, iirc only one player had cost more than 10 million Euros. Best players, probably yes, but certainly not by far. Roma's squad, for example, is full of stars and many saw them as favorites for the title last season.
  11. No: Don't get me wrong, what Conte did was incredible, nearly miraculous. He built a team with a small budget that won the Serie A unbeaten against all odds and went on to dominate. But that team is now, for the large part, history, so is Conte's 3-5-2 by his own admission. Won't even respond to the comparison with Grant, tbh...
  12. However they need to play. Most of the times in the Serie A Juve are faced with 10 men behind the ball and they know how to break it down. But they can easily transition to a system where they close all gaps and play on the counter as they did against City at the Ettihad.
  13. Apart from the CBs and Buffon, Allegri has basically had to rebuild the entire team since Conte left, especially this year after the departure of Pirlo, Tevez and Vidal. He's also altered a lot in Juve's system.
  14. In brief (sorry, a bit busy, atm), Conte is a tactical genius. He'll come up with a system that will get the squad playing at a higher level than it actually is. But his man-management is sometimes questionable and he lacks pragmatism and a plan B. Allegri on the other hand gets the team playing very consistently and knows how to get the most out of every player. He's also tactically very flexible and knows how to adjust to each opposition. He also has more experience and an incredible record in Europe.
  15. As a Juve fan who've seen both Conte and Allegri up close, I'd take Massimo over Antonio here in a heart beat (though I would be a bit sad to see him leave Juve we're he's doing so well).
  16. I'm not even criticizing what he did (and he did do mistakes) but his role....he has none! He doesn't have a role in attack. He tried to get on the ball a few times at the start of the second half, but for the rest of the match, he might as well not be there. In defense he has no role either. He doesn't press high, he doesn't have the pace to. He doesn't drop low and hold position, he doesn't cover for fullbacks. He's basically just making up numbers in midfield. If anything, this is more a criticism of the manager than him, but he just hasn't been doing any particular role in the team, so there is no reason why RLC can't take his place.
  17. But why play him? If the point was to rest Hazard, then start RLC, if RLC can't play 2 matches in 3 days then start Kennedy on the left and Oscar centrally. And to keep him on till the 73rd minute...criminal!
  18. Been the cycle this season, we win a match, everyone starts calculating the points difference to 4th, then we drop points in the next match and the talk is about avoiding relegation battles... Tbh, atm I most of all concerned about how badly we are going to look against PSG. It's in 2 week's time and our chances......
  19. Some bloody long corner we've been trying to turn. It looks to me that we've been trying to turn for so long we've actually went the full 360 degrees and are now just going in circles!
  20. Can someone just explain to me what he does in the team now? Seriously, does he have an actual role other than to make up the numbers? I get that his confidence is shot, but he doesn't seem to be doing anything neither in attack nor defense and you could actually see the difference in midfield after he came off. It's like we were basically playing with 10 men with him on! If Guus insists on playing Cesc in a more advanced role, then it just has to be RLC next to Mikel.
  21. Tbh, I blame @Laylabelle for the two dropped points....
  22. Frustrating match. Hazard on earlier and we probably win it. If only we play Arsenal every week....
  23. WHAT are we waiting for to make a change?!
