I know Bayern were excellent, but Barca were terrible as well. Their pressing was abysmal and was their movement. It looked to me that they lost the match before they even stepped on the pitch. All they were trying to do is keep the ball so they don't concede. Never showed any real intent in attack and never looked like scoring. Very cowardly display.

I said the exact same things a while back, but my comment was aimed at those calling him rubbish. I don't want Gomez here, but I won't be upset if we do get him.

Like I said, I honestly don't want him here because I like strikers that are more complete. But the guy is one of the best poachers of his generation. His scoring record is phenomenal because it is so consistent even when he was at Stuttgart, who I think you would agree that Torres won't get 63 goals in 121 appearances with. No one else has his movement and striker's instinct to escape his marker so often and find himself in the exactly right place and time and to tap the ball in. He makes it look very easy, but isn't that what all top strikers do? Anyway, I don't think we should even be discussing Gomez because him moving here is extremely unlikely.

Torres would not have been there on the line. This is what Mario brings. His movement, positioning, and striker's instinct are second to none.

Apparently Cahill could be fit for this one which is good because Luiz needs a rest.

I don't want him here for the same reason I don't want Falcao, but some of the reactions here are ridiculous, imo. He has one of the best scoring record in Europe. I won't be upset if we get him for 20-25m. Though I doubt the interest is genuine.

I know his Barca form does not help his case at all, but he was magical at Udinese, especially in the season right before he left. Which is why I think he's worth the bet. I think that his Barca form has been, at least partly, due to his lack of games and his coming in and out of the side so often. He just hasn't had a good run of games with them. On any account, I think he's a player that would fit much better in the EPL than La Liga.

I think the idea is that we need a player who can both play on the wings and cover as a striker. I don't think anyone is seriously saying that Remy, or Schurrle, will walk into our lineup, but if there's anything to learn from this season is that squad players are just as important as the starting XI.

Sooo, Madrid are pretty much through to the final.. The psychological blow of loosing Gotze and to Bayern in particular is just huge. His relation with his teammates must also be a bit awkward atm. Can't see them going through.
