  1. Unless the algorithm they use to "crunch" the statistics has somehow managed to solve for all the variables in the universe and predict the future then the number means next to nothing. Football transfers do not follow rules or even patters. Heck, often they don't even follow logic. That's why Bale goes for 90+m while Villa goes for under 5! Bottom line is, you're probably better off using FIFA ratings to compare players rather than what a site think they are worth.
  2. And why do you think that the whole post is aimed just at you? The subject is being discussed and I am giving my opinion about it. I quoted your post just for the first part where I tried to explain how Suarez is nothing like JT.
  3. I've refrained from posting my opinion about JT in this thread simply because I know that he is not what the media paint him to be and I honestly don't care what other people think about his personal life. But hold the f***ing phone; you did NOT just compare John Terry to a c*nt like Luis Suarez! Luis Suarez is one of the most unsportsmanlike players of his generation. He is an absolute scum that constantly dives, cheats and even attempts to intentionally injure opposition players. I don't know, or care, about anything in his personal life, but if his behavior on the pitch is anything to go by, then he a despicable, and judging by his biting record, borderline psycho-path. JT has made many idiotic mistakes; more mistakes than the average player, that is undeniable. But JT is not cynical. He is one of the most honest players around and never cheats. I have never seen him try to injure an opposition player. He's passionate and impulsive and might knee Sanchez from behind, but he would never do something that would genuinely hurt an opposition player like stepping on someone or kicking his Achilles like Suarez does. But that passionate impulsive nature is also what makes him put his body on the line week-in week-out for his club and teammates. John Terry is the kind of player who plays half a season by getting injections in his knee because his team needs him. He is the kind of player who played with a broken rib because Cahill and Luiz were both injured and we had no one to replace them. Those sacrifices, this passion he shows on a weekly basis, for me, says so much more about him than that one incident where he called someone a "black c*nt" (which was very wrong and stupid). John Terry is also a very emotional guy. I've seen him cry because a kid he's met once has cancer. He made a mistake by cheating on his wife, but he absolutely loves his family. He's the type of person who wakes up early on a snowy day to write the names of his wife and kids inside hearts with a shuffle in the snow so they would see it when they wake up. Would scum care so much about others as JT does? Would scum make sure, every time a youth player trains with the first team to go to them, give them tips, and tell them how good and talented they are? Out of all of our players, he is by far the one that gets most involved with the youth and reserve players. He attends a lot of their games and makes sure to help them, give them tips and praise them even though he knows that 90% of them would never make it at the club. If you don't know how much JT cares about his teammates, even from the youth level then read this story: http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/12166-dont-judge-a-book-by-its-cover-especially-john-terry/ So JT is an impulsive, passionate and emotional person and like all people of this character, he can be absolute idiot at times, but he is by no means a scum or a bad person and I am honestly disappointed that Chelsea fans who see his attitude and character for the club each week can think otherwise. Just goes to prove that the media can have you believe anything they want.
  4. So an imaginary number set by someone who has nothing to do with either the club or the player? Sounds legit..
  5. But since he was comparing Ozil and Ramsey, I think he was talking about the CAM role which Ramsey has played in the past. And I find it hilarious that Ramsey, even on the form of his life, would ever start there ahead of Ozil. As for La Liga, all the teams there are capable of playing some great football (though a bit too "light-weight" for my taste), but what teams other than Madrid and Barca lack is big-name players. When was the last time you heard a La Liga team other than the big two and Athletico make a big money signing of some highly rated player. Here in the EPL, you have the top 6-7 always signing largely in-demand players. Even clubs like Sunderland and Southampton made signings like Giacharini and Osvaldo.
  6. Shhhh we don't speak such things around here
  7. Also missed a sitter. I watched the first half and he was by far MKD's best player.
  8. Lmaooo Btw, Manuf, mate. The FSW is gone now, you could change your sig now
  9. Silva and Ozil play centrally...and Nasri?! I'm inclined to believe them too but that's besides the point because you originally said that there is no way that the club had given him 185K and I'm saying that it is possible.
  10. Yes I'm sure Eden would have played second fiddle to Nani, James Mlner and Callejon last season had he not joined us There's no proof that the French media is right and the English is wrong. You choose to believe the French media because you want them to be right. I'm saying that either can be right and it is a possibility that we did offer him those wages.
  11. NO it sounds very plausible to me when you factor in that almost every top club in the world was after him. He had a release clause that everyone was willing to pay. Why do you think he chose us? Because we were the champions of Europe? Get real.. I'm not saying that he is on 185kpw because only the club and player know for real, but it is definitely possible.
  12. This post next to your current avatar is just too funny
  13. Alex made that suggestion last month but it was largely unpopular.
  14. LOL he never allowed Lampard or even Ballack, you think he'll let Sneijder take them? No chance Don't be silly, Drogba was the ultimate time waster when we were winning a game. He uses that to slow down the tempo when we need to and he it often worked very well for us. But you can't pretend that he never did it on purpose.
  15. Did anyone see him today? This has gone beyond hipster and well into plain scary!
  16. Buffon performing absolute heroics to preserve Italy's lead.
  17. Count your blessings, Benayoun was one something like 100k
  18. The stuff about Jose is just brilliant. Puts a huge smile on my face reading stuff like that
  19. That's definitely a factor, but I don't think it makes sense to just add the fee because obviously the player has nothing to do with what the club paid for him. Schwarzer is on peanuts even though he came on a free, for example.
  20. One problem...there are no more places for winger at Vitesse
