I think Thibaut's injury could well have made up Jose's mind as to who will start the season as number one, at least for the Burnely match. Courtois has got, what? 45 minutes of match time in preseason so far? I don't think he's match fit yet.

Honestly, I didn't think Drogba did badly. I thought he showed what we brought him in to do, which is being that pure target man and link-up with his back to goal. He was doing that well up until his injury. Torres....

Managed to catch the match a few minutes into it. Thought the performance was decent even in the first half. Obviously the second was expectedly much better when we got all the key players in. Luis edges MOTM for the first half ahead of Schurrle because he didn't put a single foot in wrong. Salah for the second; I think he was good and positive in everything he did and was twice our last man back on the counter. Brilliant attitude. I also enjoyed the fact that there were a few moments of real quality in the match. A few excellent long balls, several superb set-piece deliveries, and obviously the two amazing goals. Exactly what you want to see in preseason.

I actually think it would be a good move for him. I remember calling for this loan last season to replace MVG. We can loan him to the Championship for 10 more seasons and he won't evolve. That's just not his style of play.

Yes, this is nothing like RVP or Ash or even Cesc, but he has still agreed to play for a rival club in a season where every single match that City play in any competition they be one of our biggest rivals. And he's done so after specifically saying that he won't. People have the right to be upset even though some are taking it way overboard. He's not a traitor, but you're lying if you say that this doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth.

City for me are still favorites and have the best squad in the league even though we've bridged some of the gap with our signings. If we do win the league, it'll probably be because of Jose completely out-witting Pelligrini, which I totally fancy our chances of.
