Tone down the discussion, guys. Cut down on personal insults, please. And may I remind everyone that BOTH are still our players. There is absolutely no need to insult or disrespect either of the great goalkeepers.

Match day!! I'm so excited, I literally woke up at 5:30 am! The first match will always be a tough one (though we have done very well in the opener over the years). For me, it's still way to early to be demanding a top performance. Not everyone is 100% fit yet, still need to build chemistry, players need to get more familiar with new roles/tactics/plans. Come November and the Christmas period, that's when you'd want you team to hit top gear and start steamrolling teams convincingly. Right now, getting 3 points in a similar manner to how City, Arsenal Liverpool and Tottenham did, will do fine. Tonight, I'd gladly take a 93rd minute deflection off the ref to get the 3 points.

Seriously, just check his Twitter account Absolute class act.

How did you arrive at exactly 89?!
-
Links to whom? You think Jose or Steve Holland phone him every other day?! I can't remember what it was about, but he pulled something similar last season then said that he was only saying what he thinks was going to happen when it did come true. Richard Keys is a clown, and that is irrelevant to who Jose picks in goal.

He's in Qatar. How the hell would he know? Just a shit TV presenter trying to get some retweets in a very sad manner...

All that huffing and puffing and Newcastle didn't manage a single shot on target!

The most obvious thing in the world...

I'm not going into that discussion because it's besides the point. Kagawa, like Mata, have already showed how good they can be. You can't take away what they have already showed/achieved.
-
Doesn't matter for how long, the point is in both cases they are grossly misused in a system that does not fit them. Doesn't matter if for 5 months or 5 years. Just like you refer to Mata's first two season here when talking about his ability, you should talk about Kagawa's time at Dortmund when comparing with him. Being in a team that plays a system that does not suite cannot take away from he's already shown his capable of.
-
Then what are you even arguing about? Judging Kagawa based solely on his time at united is like judging Juan based on the first half of last season under Jose only.

That back heel...

I'm stealing that!

Same here. And like most people, fell for it at first.

Some guy called Schlupp who plays for Leicester. Should have been fairly obvious since Everton were playing in white!

It looks like Josh McEachran will be the latest Chelsea youngster to join Vitesse on loan. Josh tweeted today his excitement to be going to Arnhem: "Off to Holland tomorrow then.. Can't wait to get out there!!" McEachran who has been at Chelsea since the age of 7, was once considered the hottest Chelsea youth prospect after appearing several times for the first time under Carlo Ancelotti at just 17. But 4 years and 4 unsuccessful loans later, and a lot of Chelsea fans are now questioning if Josh has the right attitude and mentality to make it at a club like Chelsea. This loan to the Netherlands, where the league fits his playing style, could well be the last chance for the boy with magical left foot and impeccable technique. Click here to view article.

I don't think he's ready for the EPL. He's only had one season of playing competitive football. Yes, it was a great season, but it's still one season. Even his experience in the Championship the second half of last season was far from perfect. He was mainly thrown on the wings at Derby and he wasn't even selected by the manager for playoff games despite scoring in almost every appearance for them. Even in the play off final when Derby had the numerical advantage for most of the match, he was never brought on by the manager even though they desperately needed a goal. Mind you, I was rather glad that Zamora scored that last minute winner. It would have been too easy of a decision to send Patrick to Derby had they been promoted to the EPL despite the manner they treated him, and it would have most likely been a very disappointing season for him on the sidelines. Bottom line, I think there is absolutely no need to rush Patrick.. He's still 20 which is very young for a striker and there's no need to rush his development with a loan that he may not be ready for. I think he can still learn a lot from a year in the championship.

Patrick Bamford might be on his way to spend the season at MIddlesbrough after Boro manager, Aitor Karanka, confirmed his club's interest in the 20 year old. "We are working on Bamford," Karanka said in his post match interview after a 1-0 loss to Leeds yesterday. Bamford had spent last season on loan at MK Dons and and Derby Country scoring a staggering 29 goals. Naturally, quite a lot of teams have showed interest in young Patrick this summer. But Karanka, who was Jose Mourinho's assistant in Real Madrid, is looking to use his relationship with the Portuguese to land our young striker. And the Spanish manager was sure to highlight how highly he rated Bamford: "I have spoken with Jose Mourinho, everybody knows how important a player he could be for us. I hope that he can be with us but it is not in my hands." If the deal does go through, Patrick will be joining another another Chelsea youngster, Kenneth Omeruo (20), who had joined Boro earlier this month for his second season long loan at the Riverside. Rumors have it that Karanka is also interested in taking Chelsea's Lewis Baker(19) on loan. If true, could it mean that the club has found, through Jose's connection to Karanka, a new 'loan club' in the championship like Vitesse in the Eridevisie? Click here to view article.

I predict we concede first then just about turn it around late on. 2-1.

So, apparently the Lukaku miss that everyone was laughing about, wasn't even Lukaku. It's still pretty hilarious, though: https://twitter.com/darkillerzero/status/500768980634959872

There was a thread somewhere with people talking pubs for this game and agreeing meet up before it. That might help.
