  1. When we had Moses, everyone was calling him shit and wanted Salah because he scored against us and because Liverpool wanted him. Now that we have Salah and Moses is out on loan, Moses is suddenly better than Salah? The grass is always greener on the other side.
  2. The Spanish NT just love us, don't they? They're making Cesc fly to Spain to get examined there because they believe we are lying and that he's not really injured: http://as.com/diarioas/2014/11/09/english/1415552938_713140.html NO one in the team has a direct replacement except for Thibaut. Makes the squad very effective, but one long term injury and we're screwed.
  3. Bet they wish they had an Obi Mikel!
  4. Yeah, they're f*cking everywhere! Nah, the ones I met doing Opposition Views and the ones that come on here (there are a couple that are registered here and come by before every match against them).
  5. Disagree about the concept there. A CB should not try block a shot, especially when it has traveled some distance, unless he is certain that he will get enough contact to drive it well away from goal or else the deflection would put the keeper in trouble.
  6. I think he knew he'd be out for a couple of weeks if he decided to play against pool and he did it. I love that our players are willing literally risk their bodies for Jose and the team.
  7. Urgh. I don't like WBA one bit. We always struggle against them and every one of their fan that I have met is more deluded than the scousers! Please, no slip ups and making things harder for ourselves. Just score early and kill the game off before HT.
  8. No, but Iva is not in the team for that reason. He's there for his aerial ability, his stamina to keep going up and down the flank, but mostly because of his physical strength. Jose like to keep a "physical balance" in the team. He's said so a couple of times in interviews. I think he wants at least 5 physically strong players out of the 10 outfielders. So when we have people like Cesc and Schurrle and Hazard and a small LB like Azpi, he'd have a strong physical RB like Iva. I don't necessarily agree with it, but managers know things that don't necessarily show on the stats sheet. Maybe if we had someone like Moses on the right wing or a tall muscular CM next to Matic, he'd start both Azpi and Luis. But with the way the team is built right now, I don't see Jose changing it unless he is forced by injury or something.
  9. I'm old-fashioned. Fullbacks are supposed to defend first and not get beaten as easily as Zabaleta or Kolarov do. Even Luis is yet to prove his defensive solidity in the PL.
  10. Carlos 'Maradona' Tevez: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziB9j8JgKOw
  11. They've got EUFA and FIFA and a whole media propaganda behind them advertising that. Very sad that a lot of the newer football fans actually believe that, though none of them can actually explain "why".
  12. Of course he's better than Salah, but he's the same 'type' of player.
  13. You NEVER dive in with your hands, especially in the box. Plus, he shouldn't be trying to block that when it was so far away from him because he would at best deflect it which would throw the keeper off. And why is he going for that with his upper body? Much easier to reach it with his feet.
  14. Nah, he'd probably have similar issues here that Salah currently has.
  15. His technique is very good, imo, but his decision making is erratic to say the least, and I don't mean that in a good way like Neuer for example.
  16. Taking tips from Cahill in training, no doubt!
  17. Worse, when they lose they have the mentality of "we played 'good' football" as if their moral victory is more important than actually winning.
  18. Yeah, I remembered that after I made the comment. But even that came completely against the run of play. We were completely on top at that moment and wasting chances and they got that chance on the counter when Iva was out of position. Still, with all the possession they had, it is shocking how little chances they manged to create.
  19. Matic provided an outlet for the defense, but Oscar dropped deep and carried the ball to attack. Our biggest pass combination yesterday was Azpilicueta to Oscar and our third biggest was Oscar to Hazard.
  20. Nah, it's fine, mate. It's just that usually that tag is used for when there are rumors in remotely reliable sources. If we go by sources like Metro, Daily Start and Goal we'd slap the tag on all of the threads in the section.
  21. Honestly, I can never relate to the discussion in this thread. It's always some over-analysis, pointless comparison or a an over-emphasis on a minor detail you usually wouldn't usually notice. Anyway, thought he was superb yesterday, especially in the second half apart from the finishing. I think he's becoming a bit predictable in his finishing. You don't always have to go for the textbook technical finish; sometimes you just have to put your foot through it. Wouldn't hurt him at all to take a leaf out of Costa's book of finishing.
  22. I don't usually visit the Transfers Section outside of the windows, but since when is Sterling 'rumored'? Not a chance in the world Jose would buy him, imo. Liverpool system suites him perfectly and plays to his strengths. Would be a very different story here.
