  1. And the 'Understatement of The Year' award goes to...
  2. Don't worry about Le Arse. I hear Wenger is in advanced talks with Zigic
  3. Will he even be fit for the match? He's currently doubtful.
  4. Hmm, I actually think they're pretty tough sides and would like to see us avoid them both, but is PSG really at the level of Dortmund and Juventus? I think that's debatable, but, for me, if I have to choose between having Roma or Monaco in our group, the choice is pretty clear. Roma have a very good team and have made some smart signings this window. They'd be a major threat in any group, imo. I think Monaco are "manageable".
  5. This passport thing that the Mikel haters have come up with is pretty fucking hilarious As if Jose Mourinho, who benched Lampard and Cech, froze out Cole, threw Carvalho in the reserves. As if Jose, who was just saying this week how the club and the team always come before the player for him, would keep a player just because of a passport Mikel is here because Jose thinks he's valuable to the team and obviously believes he's currently ahead of Romue and MVG. But I guess whatever gets you all through the night
  6. I'm counting the times he's scored against me on FIFA
  7. I tried to balance it between travel and difficulty. I wouldn't say that's the worst case scenario because you can probably rest some players completely for some matches and have qualification wrapped up by game 4. The intensity of the matches will not be the same as facing Juventus or Dortmund for example.
  8. Everything you need to know about the draw from a Chelsea perspective: http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/18738-champions-league-group-stage-draw-who-can-chelsea-draw
  9. Tomorrow, despite all the transfer deadline week madness, the attention of the football world turns to Monaco where the Champions League group stage draw is to take place. So what do you need to know about this event and what awaits Chelsea in this draw? First, obviously the draws aims at sorting the 32 qualified teams into 8 groups of 4. The 32 teams are divided into 4 pots/levels depending on their EUFA Coefficients. Each group must have only one team from each of the 4 pots. The teams in the 4 pots are: Chelsea will naturally occupy the spot for the team from Pot 1 in it's group. Since no two teams from the same federation can be drawn into the same group, our potential opponents are everyone from Pot 2 excpet for City, everyone from pot 3 except for Liverpool and all the teams from Pot 4. From Pot 2: FC Schalke 04, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, FC Shakhtar Donetsk, FC Basel or FC Zenit From Pot 3: Leverkusen, Olympiacos FC, PFC CSKA Moskva, AFC Ajax, Sporting Clube de Portugal, Galatasaray AŞ or Club Athletic From Pot 4: RSC Anderlecht, AS Roma, APOEL FC, FC BATE Borisov, Ludogorets, NK Maribor, AS Monaco FC or Malmo Worst case scenario, our group would look like: -Chelsea -Dortmund/Juventus -Leverkusen/CSKA (Jose would NOT want a mid week trip to Moscow!) -Roma Best case: -Chelsea -Basel/Schalke -Olympiacos/Sporting -Malmo/Ludogorets So, all in all, tomorrow's darw is bound to produce some mouth-watering fixtures. Fingers crossed we steer well clear of those! Click here to view article.
  10. Because according to the rumors, the thing is stuck on Torres' wages. It is completely plausible that Milan have asked for MVG on loan or they won't pay the wages in full.
  11. Hahahaha The outfield player in goal saved the 2 penalties! Now, I've seen it all. Oh, football...
  12. The Capital One Cup draw took place at 19:45 pm today and has resulted in Chelsea hosting Bolton at the Bridge in third round. https://twitter.com/CapitalOne_Cup/status/504735233179406336 The match will be played during the week commencing on 22nd September 2014. I was personally hoping for a clash against Manchester United, but as Chelsea TV's Lee Parker put it: Couldn't have put it better my self! Click here to view article.
  13. Obviously. No Torres to Milan means No Destro. That's what I'm afraid of. He'll play the Capital One games and possibly the first coupld eof FA cup games. But that might be it. I do hope I'm wrong.
  14. I surely hope so, but I just fear for him. We've suffered too much with young players like Marco to not have a lot of concerns.
  15. Marco Van Ginkel has today rejected a proposed loan move to AC Milan despite Italian club agreeing a deal for the Dutchman with Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano. https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/statuses/504662736199241728 Marco's decision comes as somewhat of a shock after Adriano Galliani, the club's CEO and vice president, expressed his confidence that the 21 year old will be part of his team this coming season: “We are confident, we made our proposal to Chelsea and are now waiting for an answer. We hope to be able to sign him.” Van Ginkel's decision to stay and fight for a place in a very competitive Chelsea squad is very admirable, especially that he would almost certainly got considerably more playing time at the Serie A side. But perhaps more concerning for Chelsea fans is how this twist in the plot might affect Fernando Torres' proposed move to Milan. The Italians had already made an official bid to take 30 year-old striker on a season long loan with an obligation to buy him at the end of it. "Our goal is to take a great striker. Fernando Torres? He is a great striker." Galliani was quoted saying. "Let’s see if he comes or someone else. We are actively working." But falling through of the Van Ginkel deal in addition to Torres' incredibly high wages may we mean that the Italian side may end up with Fabio Borini or Roberto Soldado. Click here to view article.
  16. Great attitude by the lad to want to stay and fight for his place here, but I fear this may not be the best decision for his development. Obviously it's too early to tell, especially with so little game time to go around at the moment, but I fear what happened to Kalas last season will happen to Marco this year.
  17. I hope it's Mirallas. Naismith seems to always play great and score against us...
  18. I didn't watch it. But Martinez did the same thing against Arsenal last season, so it's likely just a tactic he uses against Arsenal alone.
  19. Quick someone start a fund raiser on social media! There are millions of Chelsea fans, surely we can raise 2.5m for such a worthy cause!
  20. Who do Everton have other than Lukaku and Eto'o if the former is injured and the latter unfit? Would Martinez have to resort to playing Naismith as a striker?
  21. Someone said this on Twitter yesterday and I thought he was spot on: Pragmatism is a virtue in football. Sticking with a philosophy, not always.
  22. Dare to Demba, my friend. Dare to Demba!
