  1. 2022....bloody hell that sounds like a millennium away with the way the situation is in the middle east. There might not even be a Qatar in 2022! Imagine all that bribing and all the controversy and discussions for nothing... On the above, while everything @Viper22 has said is more or less true, I do think it is being taken out of perspective a bit. Qatar and the gulf in general are very conservative societies that are very different from and hence can't be held to the standards and norms of western culture. I'm not defending their homophobic laws or their 'slavery' of foreign workers, but those are not issues that have just been created by the world cup nor that will go away over night or even over decades! I don't want to say more about this because I don't wish to start a political or cultural debate here, but the point is there are cultural differences that you can't look at strictly from your point of view. I think the USA have A LOT of other priorities to spend money on at the moment. If I were a US citizen, I'd be livid if my government decided to host a WC with the current economic situation in the states. I would have loved to see a WC in China or Australia. I'd have said Iran, but they need to..."lighten up" a bit..
  2. Actually, Ian Herbert, who is usually reliable, the Luiz deal is included while the purchases of Cesc and Costa are not: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/chelsea-finances-highflying-blues-set-to-announce-record-20m-profits-9857395.html?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed That's rather worrying to be honest. If that is really the case, then I imagine we'll struggle to break even next season.
  3. Yes for the first and no to the second. Him, Neymar and Luiz all took set-pieces for Brasil last night. I don't like him on the left wing. He got a bit selfish shooting every time he cut inside instead of passing. Could've had a couple of assists.
  4. Haha Read he also said that if they play like this against Wales they will definitely lose. Bet his teammates are really happy with him!
  5. Not a fan of the bleacher report but this has some interesting points and is worth a read: Exclusive: Jose Mourinho Turned Down Manchester United Job to Return to Chelsea http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2263995-exclusive-jose-mourinho-turned-down-manchester-united-job-to-return-to-chelsea?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=programming-UK
  6. Wow, that paper really needs to consider changing its name to something that doesn't sound like the most dangerous virus in the world at the moment...
  7. I kinda agree, but the timing of this statement could not have been worse when he was just completely and repeatedly destroyed a couple of days ago by Montero
  8. Haha, Sorry, mate, nothing personal. It's just the WBA fans that have come on here have been on the bitchy side a bit, complaining about Lukaku when he was with you and not wanting him there as if there are 15-goals/season strikers just lining up on your bench to take his place. Then there's your club's decision to sack Steve Clarke which I personally took to heart because as you may know Clarke is loved by Chelsea fans. And finally of course your fans booing Ramires' every touch last season which was honestly very petty and rather daft. Yes, the ref's decision in the game at the Bridge was terrible and you deserved to win, but it wasn't a dive by Ramires, his momentum took him over. And even if you want to label it as a dive, it wasn't at all a good one because it was pretty clear for everyone that there was no foul. No one even appealed for a pen. How you can blame Ramires and not the ref for that is beyond me. So yeah, like I said, nothing personal, just a mix of all of the above.
  9. You were warned for making several racist comments and then suspended for making even more, and you have the nerve to try and defend that?! Wow, you really are a scouser! This has absolutely nothing to do with your opinions and everything to do with you getting into 50 fights every day. You don't seem to know how to debate and discuss respectfully and you can't accept that other people can have different opinions to yours and you get over defensive when anyone criticizes your opinion. But keep telling yourself that the whole of the staff team is conspiring against you if that makes more sense to you...
  10. Because he was making stupid claims like this: in public, so it needed to be answered in public. And no, I didn't all say the same thing as Spike except for the part about the PMs. Are you a Liverpool fan? Because it seems that you're always the victim and it's never your fault No one said it was only you or that is was one sided, in fact you're one of several people who are on thin ice at the moment. But like I said, you seem to be the common factor in every petty fight and more often than not you're the one starting them. And what do gifs and pictures have to do with anything. The staff have never been strict about having a laugh and joking around. We're pretty lenient about pretty much everything. But when there is fighting in every fucking thread that is making the whole forum unreadable, that's where we draw the line. Trust me, if we were even remotely strict, you'd have been looooong gone.
  11. Notice something, though? You seem to be the "common denominator" in all the petty fights on the forum and more often than not you're the initiator. I wouldn't complain much if I were in your shoes, you're already on VERY thin ice as it is. Now, I think we've derailed this thread more than enough with all this nonsense. If you have anything else to add, send it to me or any other staff member via PM.
  12. Every time I've seen Soton this season, he hasn't just been solid, he's been one of their best and most important players; and that's really saying something considering how many players there have over performed this season. I watched the rerun of their match against Leicester at the weekend, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that that was the best attacking performance I've seen by a LB in the EPL this season. All the danger went through him. It's such a shame how unlikely it is for him to make it here, because us and City aside, he'd literally walk into any XI in the league. But for his own good and the sake of his career he should leave. 8.5m is an absolute steal for him. Soton would be mad not to take the option to buy.
  13. Wouldn't call what Luis is going through "suffering" at all. He's played and started plenty. There's nothing wrong with established players not being first choice as long as they are willing to fight to win their position.
  14. No reason on our part, but you're not considering what Ryan wants. He wants regular football and he wants to be at a place where he can show what he can do. You forget that last season a lot of people were saying he wasn't good enough to even be a backup.
  15. I didn't dare google that. I was certain porn/sex cam website would come up!
  16. We can't go thinner than 5 senior defenders in the team. Even this current situation is a HUGE risk.
  17. Funny thing, people always bring up Hazard's age when his finishing is called inconsistent (don't get me wrong, I think that is a very valid point at the age of 23), but no one ever brings up Oscar's age when his form drops or becomes inconsistent even though he is almost a year younger than Eden and his role requires more maturity, experience and understanding of the game.
  18. To wank? I think they have pills for that now!
  19. I'm pretty sure that's wanking emoji, Tom!
  20. He was on 40K as far as I know and that is what was reported by several sources. Not surprising at all. Players coming from South America, or outside of Europe generally, are low wages comparably.
  21. Ryan Bertrand is having ten times the season that Shaw is having. There are tens of LBs in the world that are better than Luke Shaw.
  22. Errm....you weren't on here when we signed Salah, of course you don't recall! And actually, the general consensus, apart from a very few who were still dramatic about Mata leaving, was that he was a good signing who will give us pace on the wings and whose value can only increase: http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/17158-mohammed-salah/page-11
