  1. That GIF.....I just melt
  2. Well, then you've got to convince opposition teams not to put ten men in and around the box against us
  3. What game did you watch?! "Hang on for dear life" Did Stoke even have a shot on target aside from the goal? I can't remember any. And is it only convincing if we win by 3-4 goals? I thought the performance was very good; our best in a long while. Our movement was good and our pressing was excellent for most of the match. Stoke defended very well and hard and deep and really rode their luck and still didn't look like they will take anything from the match.
  4. Oh, come off it Yes it was a wonder strike, but he has no business being more than 20 meters out of goal a full 4-5 seconds after we lost the ball and Stoke stared the counter. But it's a mistake that he will learn from and thankfully it did not end up hurting us, so we can all laugh about it now.
  5. He's really trying his best to make this title race interesting, isn't he?!
  6. I highly doubt that. Lebanon in the 80s was not exactly a tourist destination Unless they came to see the most complicated civil war/ invasion/ global proxy war/ revolution probably in history
  7. Piece of advise, if you want to last around here, cut down the holier than thou condescending attitude and remember that this is a Chelsea forum. Other than that, welcome
  8. Pay the server running costs and we promise we will!
  9. Are you offering, Tom? :eyebrows:
  10. Hah! You should have seen the Chiellini from like 5-7 years ago. It felt like he either gave away a penalty or got a red card in every game but was still a pretty great defender somehow....
  11. I'm pretty certain Chelsea would be willing to pay 2.7m for Anderlecht to take Marin!
  12. Yeah, definitely no Moses for Stoke. FA rules prevent loanees from playing against parent clubs.
  13. I'll take the PL in any state over the CL. The best judgement for a team is ALWAYS the league. The best team in it winning the CL is the exception, while the best team in the league almost always wins it.
  14. It's always so heartwarming to see some of our SUPPORTERS so upset about one of our own player playing well :')
  15. We all knew it was coming but feels great to actually see it confirmed. Completely deserved. Here's to the blessing of having JT at the top level for another year
  16. Well he was our worst player against United and others came in the following game and did well so they kept their place and it was 4-5 matches till he got anther chance in the league cup against Swindon where he was pretty shocking which meant he was out of the side till the next league cup match against Arsenal where he was better but still not good. He got a couple of sub appearances in the CL after that till the third league cup match against Sunderland which he again failed to convince in. And then he asked to leave. Now I know that it's less likely for someone who has not been in the side to just turn up and perform, and as I said I blame Jose for not giving him more sub appearances and for not giving him more chances centrally, but there were also the other 4 players that were competing for the same 2 spots and it would have been unfair for Kevin to get an extensive run ahead of them when they were performing better. I distinctly remember you writing that Jose is right not to start him after his league performances and that his sale was a very good deal.
  17. WHY didn't you warn the board at the time that you knew at the time that he will be worth 3 times more in a year and a half?! Us mortals with no insight into the future had absolutely no idea that this will happen, so much so that opposition fans were accusing Roman of bribing Wolfsburg under the table to pay that much for him at the time. Really, I blame this whole thing on you.... On a serious note, there is also the small issue that he would have probably not been worth this much because of the completely different circumstances of the two teams. Also that HE wanted to leave at the time. But coach decisions are not extrapolated from some imaginary place in their minds (certainly not from the future as some are trying to suggest), they are affected mainly by performances. Now compare the performances Mata and KDB last season to Willian, Schurrle and Oscar.
  18. Hah! These are the same cunts that were calling us in the same breathe as Bayern and Madrid as the best in Europe back in November and nominated us for the quadruple and an 'invincible' season How about we talk about the 'form' of the infallible journos who sit around twisting and exaggerating to sell a headline but still act like everyone should take their opinions seriously even though it contradicts with the twisted and exaggerated opinion they expressed the week before.
  19. Turning down an 18m offer for a fringe player who was failing to perform with the team and was asking to leave.
  20. 1) If the decisions made at least seemed the right ones at the time then we hardly "fucked it up". You can argue that it was not handled ideally now in hindsight, but certainly was not fucked up as in made a complete mess of. Also, not to get technical, but we did give him exactly 5 starts (and 4 sub appearances, but as I said before in this thread, I fault Jose for not giving him more chances off the bench). You also forget/disregard the circumstances of the squad at the time and that was that we basically had 5 players for 2 starting spots in the team and Kevin was the worst performer of those 5. Hence the other 4 had to be given more chances and starts, especially with the whole Oscar-Mata saga. 2) Well we did not 'bin' him, he asked to leave. That is what both Jose and Kevin have said. If anything, had he stayed, he would have most likely gotten significantly more playing time after we sold Mata. That was probably just bad luck because had he known that Mata was going to get sold maybe he would have stayed. Bad luck for us at least given how well he's played at Wolfsburg. 3) I am almost certain that people will moan and bash the manager if Schurrle even scores 10 goals next season. You can check the recent posts in the Luiz and Mata threads for evidence in support of that even though Luiz had 3 and half years of mixed times for us and Mata made 14 starts for us under Jose's system and was obviously not working. Interesting view regarding the Schurrle sale because to me at least it is clear that that was much worse to the team than the sale of Kevin because even with all his inconsistency, Andre could still do a job for us and provided and extra dimension off the bench while now we basically have no solid cover for the wings since Cuadrado is taking some time to settle in (which we absolutely should have foreseen). Finally, I'd just like to point out that it is okay, even for a top team, to sell a good player for the right price. I don't think we miss-evaluated how good Kevin is. Maybe he's now exceeded everyone's expectation probably even his own, but I think we had a good idea of how good Kevin can be and that was reflected in the fee. He wanted to leave, Wolfsburg made a great offer and we did not rely on him heavily in our first team, so I don't how anyone can say that it wasn't an excellent deal given all the circumstances at the time.
  21. Year wasted for him. I get that the club wanted him to stay last season to so he would qualify as "club trained" for the CL lists. But there was no excuse to keeping him to rot this season.
  22. Really? What was it that we did so badly that you believe we "fucked it up"? What would you have done differently? Not now when you have the gift of hindsight, but back then given the circumstances of the team and the performances of everyone at the time? And please don't say that you would not have sold him because almost literally not a single Chelsea fan was against the sale at the time for that fee.
  23. The loudest 'stadium' I've been in is a Basketball court that barely seats a few hundred people. The small size amplifies the sound so much, you can't even hear yourself shout. PS: Speaking of shitty atmospheres, Australia just scored against Germany, the camera cut to the Australian supporters, and literally half a dozen of them were half-heartedly clapping in their seats.
