Everyone's praising the move and everything, but to me, it looks nothing more than a stopgap signing...

Seems as if Stoke have approached Hughes. Thank fuck, I would hate to see Robbie managing those cunts. Oh and happy birthday Robbie :blue scalf:

lol that's a complete load of bollocks. Cole was one of the most talented players that we had in our squad. It wasn't because of his lack of defensive contribution that he was offloaded for, it was due to the fact that he was pretty much done in by injuries, which really affected his form. Had he not been injured so often, he really could have been world class. As it is however...
-
Zaha is clearly class, but he's quite a ball hog, so that will be something for him to work on. How Palace will survive without him in the side next year, I'm not quite sure. On another note, how shite is Troy Deeney? Watford had plenty of chances that just needed a finishing touch, and he just couldn't provide it.
-
Great stuff in the playoff final so far. Palace have been the slightly better side, but it can really go either way. Chalobah hasn't been too good though.
-
3rd choice? Behind Luiz and who?
-
Defending is one of the strong aspects of Serie A (certainly better than La Liga right now); how you came to the conclusion that it is easy to score in Italy, who the fuck knows.
-
lol I'd take Hummels over Cahill every day of the week, the difference isn't anywhere close to comparable. The problem wasn't with Hummels, but more due to the fact that they were playing such a high line without quick enough defenders to do that (sound familiar?).
-
I don't understand why Luiz always feels compelled to throw so many elbows, especially in a postseason friendly.
-
Neither Torres nor Ba are good enough to be playing for this club. They don't score consistently enough, plus the fact that they blow way too many chances, and they both (especially Torres) go missing in big matches. You can talk about how he's scored 20 goals this season all you like, but in the end, 2 Premier League goals from December to May is simply not good enough, nor does it justify the ridiculous wage that he is on. I would rather not loan out Lukaku next season. As much as he says that he wants to be loaned, it's quite clear that he's ready to play for this club (which is why he should shut the fuck up). He is more potent of a goal scoring threat than either of the two strikers that we have right now and will only get better which is why the best move for us would be to get a striker the calibre of Falcao or Cavani and have them compete with Lukaku for the centre forward spot.
-
Does this clash with the CL final at all?
-
I was about to say "It's a post season friendly, give him a break", but then I realized that he hasn't even been one of our players playing a ton of games, so fatigue is not an excuse. Same goes for Marin. I know one friendly shouldn't decide anything, but them being shite is all that has pretty much been the story of their seasons.
-
What was so shit about Blackman? I thought he did alright. Fun game, it was clear that our makeshift back 4 couldn't really handle Dzeko though, and that was the biggest thing.
-
Mikel and Benayoun have been pretty shite, but there's not really any surprises there.
-
It's a bit early to talk about who's going to finish where at this point, as two of the top three clubs don't even have a manager, not to mention the fact that the transfer window isn't open yet.
-
Mou to Stoke and Pulis to Madrid. You heard it here first.
-
Well I wonder who will be the next to suffer from Pulis' style of football. Rumor has it that RDM is being linked with Stoke now. Hopefully he doesn't go to such a shithouse club....
-
I was having plenty of doubt about Oscar in the middle part of the season, but I have to say, these past few weeks, he's really picked it up. This match showed that especially, with not only his impressive run to set up the first goal, but also the fact that he looked good when we were in possession all game long and created lots of chances.
-
Very impressed by him yesterday, the fact that he's 18 makes me incredibly optimistic for what he can bring to the team in the future in terms of playing as a holding midfielder (at least more than a certain John Obi....). Positionally, he seemed quite disciplined and when he was on the ball, he was decent and didn't give it away that much. Good stuff.
-
What a crazy summer this is going to be.
-
Can we all just come together to agree that our biggest issues lie in central midfield not just because of Mikel, but also because the rest of our central midfielders haven't been good enough this year and the fact that we don't have an actual playmaker. It is quite worrying, so hopefully our new manager will have a good idea of what he needs to do (in terms of this position).
-
Cahill's last ditch tackling has always been top class. It's his game sense and positioning that he really needs to work on. Hopefully it improves with a bit more experience.
-
This, combined with the fact that he was strolling around the pitch clearly not giving two shits in the match right after these comments (Kazan 2nd leg) are more than enough to convince anyone of how awful his attitude was. Then combine it with this trophy crap and...well.. that just leaves me with nothing else to say to be perfectly honest.Whatever, there's no point in beating a dead horse with a stick, so let's just talk about something more... important.
-
You can't really compare winning a League title to a tournament however. Rooney still played 26 games for United in the league, even if he didn't play in the Swansea game at OT, while Terry played no part in either European final. But even then, I find all the people singling out Terry to be quite stupid to be honest. We had 4 keepers dressed out in their kits, not to mention Ferreira, Ake, etc. dressed out too. Oh well, people will always find a way to slag of Terry, no matter how petty (although I can't say that he hasn't deserved it).
-
You gotta love the fact that he put everything on the line for this trophy, including his blood and guts.
