Umm...Players you mentioned will be sold at some point. Bertand, Mancienne or Mellis wouldnt make it but Rooney for a long time. Lampard has 4 years left at max. Rooney has 12 years left. And we need a replacement for Drogba and Id prefer a striker whose played here than a shevchenko situation

Firstly people who say he is overrated are right but then id rather invest 30-40 millions in a player who has adapted himself well to the league rather than an Aguro or a Pato who will take 2 seasons to do so. Rooney's potential wasnt quite used at Man Utd as he was often played on the wings. Last season he was their out an out centre forward and he reaped the rewards. With the way Carlo likes to play our front three Rooney will gell well with Drogba and Malouda as the front three keep changing positions.

Exactly my sentiments. He is good going forward. He is Super Quick in the midfield and drew fouls early on. He looks quite lean but is very strong and you could se the way he won tackles and ball. Although that, what he needs to work on his ball keeping skills. There was a moment in first half when he gave the ball away outside the box. But after that he has been SUPER!!! And he will only get better. And that tackle off Chamakh in the box was Fantastic.

Carlo mentioned that Sturridge needs to stop playing wide and learn to make his runs towards the centre. Sturridge on right often wanders on the flank, but if we see our front three they keeps moving and changing places. Sturridge needs to adapt to that style of play. He has a killer of a left foot. Needs confidence and he should be good. 2 bad games dont make him bad. Last season he was scoring well in FA Cup and also made some good contributions in EPL. He needs time......and Confidence. On watchign Man City game I feel that the team didnt realize what struck them. Having a cake walk of first 5 games they werent ready for the power and tenacity of Man City. You see the Blackpool game and see the showboating by Drogba and the rest, it makes you feel the team is invicible. What this match has done is brought our team back to the ground. We can now take our opponents seriously and put on more efficient performances.

Just because you are Portuguese and Nani plays for your national team doesnt make him >>> Kalou. Kalou scored 43 goals and 33 assists in 175 games. Nani 18 goals and 23 assists in 110 games. Thats 65 games 25 goals and 10 assists lesser than Kalou. Both are Winger/Strikers and Nani starts more games than Kalou does.

People have some very high expectations off Kalou. He is a back up to Anelka and Drogba FFS. He isnt a striker who will lead our attack in a Champions League Final. When I look at Striker/Wingers at other clubs Kalou is most productive than all of them. Kalou > Nani Kalou>Walcott Kalou> Kuyt. Be satisfied with what he gives from bench without complaining too much.

People creaming over mikel's performance are overlooking the fact that we played 3 teams that didn't attack much. Mikel's job is that of a defensive midfieilder.....but he has not had a lot of defending or breaking up of play to do. Wigan for a while did attack us but that was it. To say that he has been great in the last three matches is a bit over the top. Although his distribution has been class which has always been the case, Mikel's positioning as a defensive midfielder, Mikel's breaking up of play as a midfielder, hasnt been put to test as we engaged these teams in their own territory. Teams like West Brom, Wigan, Stoke dont attack in hordes. I wouldnt pass my judgement untill the Man City game where Mikel's defensive skills will really be put to test. Man City, have quality wingers and strikers, how he holds the ball against them, how he breaks up their play and his positioning will be interesting to see. Untill then, he will be facing teams who would find it difficult to attack us as we would usually be playing in their own half. Malouda POTM for me.
