One of the worst forms of criticism leveled against Mikel in recent times, is that Oriol Romeu makes more forward passes than he does.

Is this discussion really necessary? The only talking point is that he and Roman disagreed on the direction in which the club had to move in during the middle of the season. Nowhere does he "claim credit" for the club's success. And he goes on to say that no-one really had faith in the squad at the start (people commenting on how old it was, how Torres was flopping) yet the same squad goes on to win 2 trophies. That's pretty much it. He could have said something more vehement, but this is trivial.

I think loaning him to a championship side would be a lot worse. He's supposed to be a midfield creator that thrives on the clever runs made by other players. This is why I think he'll be more successful playing alongside members of the senior team (just like his pre-season form showed). Sending him to a side like Burnley would only make him dull and ineffective.

Completely agree. It also means that the 2 in midfield don't often join in attack. Rather they stay behind and dictate play from the deep, setting up the wingers and full-backs. The end result is you'll have more attackers around the opposition area than a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1

Ideally no. And Chelsea rarely releases players on contract. But if they make a transfer request, the club won't stand in the way.
