  1. Not just that, but 13 goals conceded in 5 matches? That's just pathetic, considering we don't even have a style of play up front. Hazard, Ivanovic, Fabregas, Costa, Terry, Matic...players that helped secure the title last season are all playing with their heads down and no confidence. This has got to go down to the manager. No one else. The stupid handling of that Carnerio system has only made things worse.
  2. I'm going off player reputation when I say this, but in IMO, it doesn't compare with Falcao's who's adept with both feet and is a better header of the ball..
  3. I didn't say he can't score equalizers., or any crucial goal for that matter. I was saying I doubt he would've scored the type of goal Falcao did...which was the diving header in a crowded penalty area. And neither did I say that Falcao deserved an automatic start over Remy. All I meant was that in the situation we were in after Palace went 1-0 up, Falcao would have been the logical choice because of his poaching ability
  4. I also hate that Falcao has just taken Remy's spot with no contest,..but I doubt Remy would've scored the goal Falcao did against Palace. After Palace took the lead, and elected to pack their box with players, it was going to take something special to score from that point. That goal came almost out of nowhere, considering how poor our attack was that day.
  5. If that's really the case, then the board have made the same classic mistake they made back in 2010 after we won the title.... Basically assume that if players A,B,C were instrumental in winning the title then, A, B and C can win it for you again with no worries....forgetting that A, B and C are not machines or series of stats...and that at least 2 out of the 3 are guaranteed to lose form or at least not match the same performance level they showed last season...
  6. Well lets just say, I doubt any criticism would improve Ivanovic's performance. Just trying to be meek, lol
  7. He was dropped, but he started the very next the game. Not too much to read into the JT situation, IMO. The only player who could have his head down because of the Eva incident, is Hazard who was almost directly responsible for her coming onto the pitch.
  8. Because that would be almost like beating a dead horse? He criticized Hazard and RLC because he knew they were young, and could take it upon themselves to improve their performances based on their potential. Ivanovic is most likely over the hill at this point... criticism would probably end up only depressing him.
  9. I think his best chance in the game was the one he fashioned by himself, when he went on that mazy run against their defense....Unfortunately he elected to lay the ball off to Hazard or someone else, instead of taking the shot himself. I wish he would do more of this...especially now, when our midfield is playing below par.
  10. Well tbf, with your "I told you so" kind of attitude its kind of hard to say that you actually care about how well the club fares
  11. Also, 11 goals conceded so far..the most by a team this season. If this is Mourinho's idea of a joke, its not a very funny one
  12. He might have stood a chance of recovering his form if he came into the squad with the rest of the team playing stellar football...but no, he joined us when the rest of the team were playing like shite. How typical.
  13. Any chance that the Eva Carneiro thing is playing in the back of his mind? He's a slow starter, but this was really poor even by his early season standards. He's hardly running at players and seems content with letting other players take responsibility in creating chances. Could say the same for Fabregas as well, but at least he was taking occasional shots at goal
  14. Tbh...at no point in the game did I expect Mourinho to take off Ivanovic, or Fabregas for that matter. Someone mentioned it before, but because JT is not available, it would have been highly doubtful that he would remove another of his "leaders". Our defense had to suffer for it though.
  15. He's alright at stemming the flow, till he makes that one error that leads to us conceding a goal. I agree that he can be a "stopgap" solution, but not more. And if none of our attacking midfielders are having a good game, then you can expect the ball to remain in our half of the pitch for 80% of the time.
  16. Mikel getting criticized for not playing is funny, I admit, but tbh... just like stated in the post above, I can guarantee that we would have had even less possession then we had against City yesterday if Mikel was playing along with Rambo and Matic. And while Mikel might have shown, at least 90% of the time, more positional awareness, a few lapses in his concentration would have negated any of that.
  17. The Falcao project might've stood a chance if the rest of the team was playing top notch football ...but if he's expected to uplift a team that's currently in the doldrums, then its best to just leave him on the bench..Not the best signing based on current circumstances.
  18. I know, it hasn't happened in the EPL before, but with Porto and Inter..
  19. Not trying to make comparisons here, but Mourinho has had tough starts to seasons before, but still finished strongly right?
  20. Annoying that Cuadrado comes in without Moses even getting sniff...same goes for Remy and Falcao...the former is the also the last player from the side to even score against City ffs.
  21. Then who would you have us our 'long term solution'? Sorry, I'm not disregarding your other points, but I just can't understand why this is brought up frequently. I'm not sure how much Mourinho had to do with shaping our squad at the start of this season, but I really doubt that any other name could get a much better result against City's starting 11 today with the team we had out today. You might argue a few others might have us playing a bit more fluid, but on a 'results' basis I don't think there would have been any improvement. The only real thing that frustrates me, is that despite finishing top of the table last season, and making player sales last season, we're being so frugal in terms of transfers,,..while City are spending like there is no tomorrow. And this is right after, they were found to be in danger of breaching FFP.
  22. Then why would they even renew his contract? But yes, for some reason they do look like screwing him over in terms of transfers. I remember before pre-season started this year, when Mourinho was asked how the squad would shape up over the summer, and he said, just a little more 'freshness'. I remember he specifically mentioned 2 areas were they could add players: 'Midfield, Defense'. Fast forward 2 months later, and he comes out saying Chelsea don't need more.
  23. That post makes it look more bleak than it should be. Back when KDB, Mata were on the bench., we didn't have Matic or Fabregas in the starting 11. We lost Schurrle and got Cuadrado,...but the real issue is in defense were we lost Filipe Luis and haven't signed a replacement. In other words, we have no one to challenge our full-backs who are key to both our attack and defense. This is what is really holding us back atm , IMO.
