I was under the impression Youth Players/Homegrown talent can be added throughout the season.

In England, I would wager that only Walcott and Lennon could beat Sturridge in a Sprint. Mata's Acceleration is crazy. He may not have the raw speed to beat a lot of players, but his quick fire Acceleration and quick feet will.
