  1. I can't imagine how a lot of us would have felt in the 80s and under Bates. Have some damn perspective, Arsenal are simply inert under Wenger and have been for a decade, Tottenham are experiencing one of their first title runs in so many years, Liverpool have been zig-zagging since the 80s, Aston Villa just totally imploded after being a solid team for years, Manchester City just hired a manager halfway through the season which made half of their team go on holiday, and who knows what the fuck Bournemouth is doing with their finances. This isn't exclusive to Chelsea. Every club has been a 'corporation' for years now. Especially all the 'more famous' clubs, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham are just global brands and have been for over a decade. This isn't a phenomena exclusive to England, PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona are all the same however it is just worse in England because of the Premier League brand. The BPL is the only league you can watch in a backwater village in the Philippines, a metropolitan city in America and a city in the middle of Nigeria. Overexposed, overpaid and over hyped, this rings true for every single team in England. The state of English football revolves around money and nothing else.
  2. Hardly. The man is passionate and has brought Napoli back from the brink of destruction to one of the Serie A's best clubs. He nor the club he runs exist to pander to the needs of Chelsea or any other club.
  3. People still think Chelsea buy players to actually play for the team? I've said it before I'll say it again. Most of these guys are bought in, loaned out and hopefully sold for a profit. It's simple human trafficking. Piet de Visser has been quite vocal and critical of Chelsea and Mourinho lately. I can't say I disagree with him either.
  4. I'll never pay for another jersey as long as it is covered in Adidas' cumshot stripes and a huge sponsorship that takes up 1/3 of the chest. Although I will say I enjoy how garish this new kit is. I love the kitsch.
  5. I don't care where the team finishes. I want entertaining attacking football with the implementation of youth over shilling millions of pounds on players like Nainggolan and whathaveyou. At the end of the day it doesn't bother me if players are bought. I like to watch this game for the appreciation of the sport not to see someone else bask in glory while I live vicariously through it all.
  6. Personally I always thought it was a bit of both. It's on the Rise and Fall of the British Empire, so I suppose everyone leaving for Australia fits into that narrative nicely.
  7. Hopefully it's on shuffle and this song is next
  8. Personally I love observing the phenomenon of the 'supporter 180'.
  9. I think Levy has done a great job for Tottenham. When he sells a player he gets over the odds and he refuses to sell to a direct rival unlike Chelsea. Aside from a few flops he generally plays hardball and gets the wok done. Since 2011 they've only ever made a profit from transfers, never losing money in the transfer market. Tottenham have been a phenomenally well run club this last half decade and I think the only reason Chelsea fans can't accept this is due to blind bias.
  10. A team that currently plays better and is run better than Chelsea.
  11. Cheeky gits get what they deserve. At least my brain is proportionate to my skull, you Frankstein's Monster headed freak. Square headed twit.
  12. Mats Hummels, much like Sergio Ramos fits perfectly into the niche 'fantastic footballer, idiotic defender'. The best players aren't always the ones with an 85+ rating on videogames or the ones oft in the media circles. Never forget that Jose Fonte was once the best CB in England. I'll always pick an average player that elevates the team and fits into a philosophy over a fantastic player that is playing in a manner foreign.
  13. It's not always biased to judge on nationality...Chelsea could always sign superstars from Lichtenstein.
  14. People seem to have forgotten how much influence a certain Piet de Visser has at this club. I really don't believe Emanalo is as influential as some believe him to be, there won't be some revolution if he is sacked and the club will continue on in a similar manner. He is simply a cog in a machine. I find the entire obsession with Emanalo to be completely naive and simplistic in nature.
  15. McEachran got ridiculous amounts time at 17 when he debuted. He didn't improve at all. All he had was a beautiful first touch and a nice pass, everything else was fairly rubbish.
  16. Only if the club abandons the idea of buying players all the time. People always chat about buying X, loaning Y, buying then loaning Z. Why not just play Y? I'd rather see RLC play for Chelsea next season than, loan him out to a team that has no obligation to even play him. I don't want the club to buy anyone next transfer window. Half the team is right there, ready to play, ready to step. How will anyone ever know unless the leap of faith is taken?
  17. More entertaining than nearly two years of Chelsea.
  18. Black, white, yellow, orange or flying purple people eater. If you are old enough to point a gun at cops you are old enough to get shot by said cops. Not always fatally of course, but dumbfuck if you threaten someone with a fatal weapon expect the favour to be returned.
  19. In Australia (I imagine NZ is very similar) taxes pay for medicare, pension, welfare, infrastructure support (roads, bridges) student loans, disability support, residential aged care, university funding, policing, superannuation, public education, and a host of other things. If someone that earns $50,000,000 p/a is taxed at %50 do you really believe you are lowering their quality of life? I don't believe so and with that money (in a government free of corruption) it would actually enhance the lives of many more people. Do you honestly believe you could afford medical expenses without government help? I have to constantly deal with private health insurance companies and I can honestly tell you it isn't easy trying to navigate their web of self-fufilling loopholes designed to give out as little money as possible. My partner is diabetic and since the taxes are lower in America she has to be hundreds and hundreds of dollars p/month just to stay alive, much more than in a country like Australia. I'd rather be robbed by the government and have the money re-purposed into health care and public education as opposed to lining a insurance company's coffers. You can stop paying taxes if you like, just don't drive on the roads, don't use government facilities, don't call the police, don't use government hospitals, don't use public, higher and in some cases private education, don't use public parks, don't use public transport, etc.
  20. Cap this post. Conte will keep Terry. Because after all the fat is trimmed, Chelsea will still need a leader with passion and experience and JT is the only man fit for the job.
  21. Fantastic news. I'm happy to see that it has been taken care of before the Euros.
