That's only one way to look at it. Inter for instance only retired number 3 after Giacinto Facchetti passed away in 2006, the man that gave over 40 years of service to that club and only that club. I don't buy into the idea that any club has the 'mentality' to retire a shirt because 'that's as good as it's going to get'/'won't get any better than this', intentional or not. I believe that's just an entirely cynical and negative view on it.
-
Agreed that number 1-11 shouldn't be retired, but that other stuff seems pretty mental to me! I find the whole retiring numbers a silly practice. I wouldn't mind if the old days returned when the starting XI wore the number 1-11.

So much is really up for debate. The squad depth would be unbelievable. I haven't even included Lazar Markovic, Alen Halilovic, Nemanja Matic, Goran Pandev among others.

Hey have you heard about this new invention!?! Scientists call it the television. I think it's nonsense but they say you can look at moving pictures on it from your home! You don't need to go the theatre anymore? What will they think of next?!

I doubt it. Sheva was Roman's idol, past 30, missused and neglected by Jose. If Sheva got the chances that Torres has been given I am 100% certain he would have been a success. And just for a heads up Ferando Torres as confirmed by Ray Wilkins was an Ancelloti signing. As far as I know Romam has only ever pushed for one player, Sheva.

He was fired from Chelsea for his apparent taste for the drink.

YOU DON'T SAY? NEXT THING I KNOW, YOU'LL BE LECTURING ME ABOUT HOW THERE WAS A SECOND WORLD WAR.

I didn't forget to include him as he retired in 2011.

State of Origin decider tomorrow same time as Chelsea.

Like most people my most creative thinking comes in the shower. Like the water swirling down the drain my brain was swirling around the Balkans and in particular Yugoslavia. Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro are all countries divided but were once united as Yugoslavia. There are a lot of social, political, religious and racial division but never mind the bollocks; how fucking brilliant would their football team currently be? Look at this 23 man squad: GK: Asimir Begovic Samir Handanovic Danijel Subasic Defence: Branislav Ivanovic Matija Nastasic Stevan Savic Darijo Srna Nevan Subotic Aleksandr Kolarov Milan Bisevac Midfield: Miralem Pjanic Luka Modric Ivan Rakitic Zdravko Kuzmanovic Milan Badej Aleksandar Ignjovski Niko Kranjcar Mateo Kovacic Attack: Edin Dzeko Mario Mandzukic Stevan Jovetic Mirko Vucinic Adem Llajic Ivan Perisic And their are literally dozens of players that could also push for a spot in the team. Talk about the real football factory of Europe.

If you could pick just one smarmy smug bastard to smack right in the gobber, who would it be? Fabio Cunt Grosso I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate him. If you wrote the word hate on every cell that makes up my body you wouldn't have 1/1000000000 of the hate I feel for him.

If not for Roman Chelsea football club would be Leeds 2.0. Don't deny it. The club was spending well beyond it's means and was on the verge of bankruptcy. What would have saved a club that needed to sell it's best player to afford wages? Just because the club had a few Cups under it's belt and had some great players doesn't mean that it was invulnerable to the drop. Newcastle dropped, nobody thought that would happen. Monaco dropped and they had a brilliant team, even making it to the 2004 Champions League Final. Leeds them self were often around the semi-finals of the CL, they dropped. Napoli even though dominant in the 80s and 90s dropped and almost dissolved. Atletico Madrid dropped four years after they won in La Liga in 1996. A few trinkets and stars would not have saved a club hemorrhaging money. Instead of a tool to promote, Chelsea are a toy to play with. It's just lucky the little kid who owns the toy is quite fond of it.

Some of you lads are acting like spoilt brats. Almost as if you believe Chelsea is by right a bigger club than PSG. Chelsea were in the exact same position a decade ago. The only difference is that instead of bitter Chelsea fans whinging and whining, it was Liverpool fans or some shit. Whenever a Chelsea fan says with bitter adorn 'he is just doing it for the money' I cringe and murder a small kitten. You are doing this to the world, not me.

If players could only ever play for their first pro-club, this is how I think the first team would look like today: Carlton Cole Ambrose Gnahore - Josh McEachran - Liam Bridcutt - Billy Clifford Ruben Loftus Cheek Dion Conroy - Nathanial Chalobah - Sam Hutchinson - Todd Kane Jamal Blackman Subs: Rhys Evans GK Kevin Wright Alex Davey Jody Morris John Swift Alex Kiwomya That was pretty bloody hard. I really struggled to find out about older youth academy players that were released and had decent careers. I pretty much had a look at the academy and pulled out the names that performed the most admirably. Easily a upper middle tier Championship level team. No John Terry, no Betrand. They were signed from other clubs.

I'm still chuckling from when Azpilicueta was signed. There was a certain banned Australian member that was very adamant and very aggressive that Maicon should be signed over Azpilicueta. Maicon made 11 appearances for ManCity and is now being shipped off to AS Roma and no longer plays for Brazil. Whereas Cesar made 48 appearances for Chelsea and has finally broken into the Spanish national team. Talk about a season of opposites. Sorry buddy, if you are reading this you were dead wrong about Douglas and Dave.
-
I have to imagine their are divisions in at Bayern Munich already. How can Pep promise playing time to all these players? He is making too many signings. I understand Ribery and Robben are getting old but as of now they aren't past it, so I don't understand why he keeps them around.
-
I agree even though your post destroyed the English language; much like how Drogba routinely destroyed Arsenal.

I do not see how the 'injury prone' debate is worth raising. Robin van Persie is or perhaps was a very injury prone striker but has that stopped him from scoring 60 goals during the past two seasons? Of course that is just one example but Rooney's injury list reads out similar to van Persie's. A lot of small niggling injuries but few if no major injuries. And of course he is a very fit and hard working player. He isn't at the level of Cristiano Ronaldo or Javier Zanetti for taking care of his body and fitness but he is heads and shoulder above the likes of Alex Pato and Ronaldinho whose lifestyle is counter productive to longevity in football. Nor does he have the unfortunate luck of Owen Hargreaves. It's been said that if Rooney worked harder he could be at CR7's level. That's not saying he doesn't work hard or that he isn't great that's just saying he could work harder and he could put in that extra mile everyday. All in all his: fitness isn't as awful as people believe it to be. injury problems aren't a cause for too much concern. No major injuries like torn muscles or broken legs. last season has been the only season where he has played under 40 games of club football for ManUtd. But if England is taken into account he easily played over 40 games last season.

Well Jesus Navas couldn't do much worse than his massive haul of zero goals and one assist from last season.

I imagine all the exercise and good eating are more beneficial to a life of laziness. Loic Remy also has a heart condition.

Look at that! You finally have a Kosovo flag. You've made me quite a few signatures in the last few years, so cheers for that and the good job.

And mocking them for being poor and throwing the ball into the keeper's face.
