  1. Of course not, but he at least played a part in all of them. Unlike the 2010 WC where he did nothing of note and got a medal. Anyway he ended the season in much better form than we've seen from him in a Chelsea shirt - sure most of the goals were against not so good opposition (Inb4TorontoChelsea ), but he wasn't even scoring against those in his first 6-7 months as a Chelsea player. Then he went on to score 4 goals in 7 games for Spain. So i'm quietly confident in him doing better next season, especially with the new players we've gotten/are getting. (Still think we need another striker though)
  2. "Cavani is not for sale but we can also take 100 million. This does not mean that this is his value, but this is the value that he has for me and he won't leave for less" - De Laurentiis
  3. Chelsea FC ‏@chelseafc We've been joined by John Terry and Raul Meireles today... #CFCTour (SL)
  4. They're many good strikers that score a lot of goals due to good service and are not exactly "world class" Very few players actually deserve that tag.
  5. This will be a good test, i'd like to see this team start the game - -----------Cech------------ Paulo---Cahill---Luiz---Cole-- -----Essien----Lampard----- Marin----Hazard---KDB--- ----------Lukaku--------- Blackman, Benayoun, Rambo, Mikel, Piazon, Bamford and Ivanovic to come on in 2nd half.
  6. He will surely get a couple weeks off after Spain are done in the Olympics.
  7. There's no reason why we can't have 2 good strikers like Madrid, Bayern, Man city or Man utd do. Even Gourlay hinted at that after we won the CL. Torres will stay, i'm 99% sure of that, we just have to add someone else. Wouldn't mind any of Soldado, Huntelaar, Lewandowski and of course Falcao (unrealistic but still hope to see him in a Chelsea shirt one day )
  8. Yes, but he's taking a foreign players slot and will be receiving a substantial wage (around 60k) every week for just warming the bench.
  9. How did you come to the conclusion that someone not wanting Cavani or calling him 'Crapani' means he's a Torres fanboy/girl?
  10. He said he's had a medical, but hasn't signed a contract, and won't be deciding anything until after the Olympics.
  11. Always makes himself available to receive a pass, and moves it on quickly.
  12. Don't think it's been posted here - Napoli president on Cavani: "I will let him rot on the bench if he asks for €7-8 million in wages"
  13. FFS, why did i open this thread
  14. Alright, you gave a few good examples, but i'm sure there's just as many about players who were good in preseason and went on to have good seasons. One that immediately comes to my mind is Benzema. He scored a lot in preseason last year, and went on to score 30+ goals last season. Now, i know having a good/bad preseason does not necessarily mean that will be the case when the proper season starts, but as a player you want to do well in preseason, impress the manager and carry that good form/momentum into the new season.
  15. How is it overreacting? a couple players did very well, it doesn't matter if it's preseason or not, a good performance is a good performance. And against a side who were clearly fitter than us. And saying there's no correlation between preseason and in season performance is just not accurate. They need to be playing well in games like these to properly prepare for the new season.
  16. Good start, really enjoyed the first half. Very good performances by Hazard and Marin!
