  1. What you suggested is absolutely unlikely to happen, Spurs won't take 5m, it's not like Meireles and Sturridge are that good. A more likely scenario is 25m + one of the two, at least a better deal than what Madrid are offering.
  2. No reliable source has reported anything about Hulk to Chelsea lately.
  3. Saw him play there vs Man city, wasn't great, just kept diving all over the place.
  4. It was a superb start, after that he was roughly hacked down, and fouled several more times. And then we were never really able to put pressure on Wigan again, as they had most of the ball. I'm looking forward to see how he does in his first home game on Wednesday.
  5. Everything you said makes sense and would make him a good option, but i just can't see it happening because of his age. Sure you might think his age is an advantage, but what's to say RDM and the board think the same?
  6. 1. I thought the job of a striker was only to score? hardly anyone cares about anything Torres does, except from the fact he can't score, and Chicarito sure can score 2. Not many good players will join to play as back-up striker. Edit: If we want a striker to be strictly a back up, then we can get pretty much anyone, from Steven Fletcher to Crouch to Berbatov. Hardly inspiring options if Torres can't play though. Fair enough then, personally i don't really care what Torres said, i want (and hope) Chelsea to get a better striker than him.
  7. Question is, do we need a back up striker or do we need someone capable of putting Torres on the bench like Drogba did? someone who can show up in the biggest games, don't think Berbatov is that man. Chicarito is better imo, sure he doesn't do a lot right, but he scores goals when it matters.
  8. Pirlo is world class, i don't think any team can turn him down even at his age. But Berbatov is not. Yes and that's great, but it's his age that concerns me the most. 31 years old and is probably (or will soon be) on the decline.
  9. Alright going by that logic, then we should sign a 30 something year old midfielder just so he can leave in a couple years and McEachran can have a chance? We won't win things doing that, if Lukaku and Sturridge are good enough then they should be able to challenge whoever we bring in, and that person should definitely not be Man utd's 5th choice striker.
  10. We're not going to sign a 31 year old striker lol.
  11. More quotes from him: 'I already had a taste of these kind of tackles in the Community Shield,' he said. 'I was kicked quite a bit in the first half against Wigan but, in France, it was already like that for me. 'I wasn't aware I was the most fouled player in the match, I wasn't counting them. 'I started as the number 10 and then afterwards with Mata, we tried to interchange positions rather than stay in the same place and I think we worked rather well,' said Hazard, who was withdrawn for fellow big-money new boy Oscar. 'Oscar has just arrived and we haven't had the time to work together. We have only had one training session so far but, little by little, we should get things to where they should be. 'There are loads of possibilities. Ryan Bertrand was on the left against Wigan and Daniel Sturridge can play there as well and the coach won't hesitate. 'He will just put the best players on the pitch. Our preparation was very good. Physically speaking, I feel impeccable.' http://www.dailymail...ier-League.html
  12. Yeah he does this particularly in the games against Barca when Mourinho asks his team to be tight at the back, and for the forwards to press them all over the pitch. Other than that, he just casually jogs back when he's not so high up the pitch.
  13. They are still meant to occasionally track back and help their defenders, i see Ronaldo and Di Maria doing this whenever i watch Real Madrid. I like Hazard because he tries and that's all you ask for really, they don't need to be good at it, just make it slightly more difficult for the opposition.
  14. Having him on the right and Eden on the left will give defenders nightmares.
  15. ---------Cech------- Ivan--Cahill--Luiz--Cole ----Essien----Meireles-- Sturridge--Oscar--Hazard ----------Torres---------- We have another game on Saturday so there's a need to rotate and keep a couple players fresh. And I know Sturridge wants to play as striker, but i think Mata will be rested and he's the only other positive option available atm.
  16. What's the difference? defensive football is all the same. You sit back and withstand pressure from the opposition, while hoping to be able to get a few chances on the counter.
  17. PSG look set for another draw. 0-0 away at Ajaccio with 3 minutes left. Lavezzi was sent off.
  18. Ivanovic needs to step up, his defending has been a joke since preseason started. Azpilicueta is coming to take his place if he doesn't improve.
  19. Tbf to them they have done well in their past 3 or so meetings with Barca, winning one, coming back from 2-0 down to level at Camp Nou in the cup. But the 5-6 meetings before that, they were too defensive and with the type of attacking talents they have, that is just simply not acceptable. About refereeing calls, that always happens when anyone plays Barca lol.
  20. Lmao, but they still lose to Barca most of the time. And against Bayern last season, they were defensive away and it was the reason they lost, gave too much space to Bayern.
  21. No chance, we will park the bus and they will struggle to score one
  22. I expect him to start alongside Hazard and Mata, especially if Ramires hasn't recovered.
