He's such a "leader" and "personality' in the dressing room that he'll surely start next season as our #1 RB under the new manager. We'll once more have to play with a handicap on the right half of the pitch and opposing sides (even small teams that we're theoretically much better than) will continue to target him week after week. It honestly appears as though our board listen to supporters' voices and do the exact opposite these days. Sign top players to build upon a title winning side? Nope, we'll sign these shit nobodies and has-beens instead. Our aging CB-shoehorned-in-at-RB who has been getting raped game after game gets a contract extension.

Mourinho probably has tears in his eyes from laughing at this embarrassment of a signing. This is what happens when you allow someone other than the manager to sign players. He had zero chance from the second he signed. What a joke.

Their best player...

Will this finally be the day where Arsene Wanker get to hammer Chelsea by 3-4 goals and get revenge for all those years of humiliation? I hope not, but nothing would surprise me this season. Knowing our luck Zouma will score 3 own goals or something. And of course Alexis is back just in time for this one...

If our days of spending are gone then so are our days of winning titles. Investing heavily is the name of the game in modern football. Man City and United will continue to spend astronomical sums to buy top players. Arsenal can now go out and buy nearly anyone. If what you say is true (and sadly it does appear that way) then I guess we'll be a club like Liverpool/Spurs or Arsenal of the past decade who are happy with or desperate just to finish 4th. Depressing thought. We looked like a club with as much or more potential to grow and reach the summit of European football and now we're back to square one and rock bottom. All in the span of a single year. As for Pato, why did he have to go back to Brazil and remain there for years if he's not a has-been? Why have no other European clubs until now wanted him? Has Torres written all over him in my eyes. A player who used to be class but past injuries have ruined him.

If we're waiting to spend big in the summer there isn't any point in wasting a penny on Pato when the new manager may not like him. If he flops like many of our recent signings have then it's yet another player we'd have to get rid of. Like I said last week, I'd personally just stick it out with what we have and give the new manager £150m or more to spend in the summer. If we expect to be a title contender again next season we have to look at who we'll be competing with. Man City bought two £50m attacking players, another decent chunk on Delph, and nearly £40m on a CB. How the fuck are we supposed to compete with that by idiotically penny pinching and buying Djilobohobkbb, some random league one CB, and fucking Falcao? Simple answer: we can't. Our board need to get their heads out of their asses quickly or we'll be in the wilderness with Liverpool and Spuds for the next few seasons. We can't be buying has-beens like Pato when our "rivals" are buying world class players. Show some bloody ambition.

This is the main reason we're in the position we are. Going for budget signings and trying to paper over the cracks with mediocrity.
-
And that's me done watching for the season. See you guys in the summer. This side don't deserve my attention.
-
Concede and crumble. Time and time again. This team is embarrassing.
-
Sorely missing Hazard. That left side of our attack is useless with Pedro who looks as though he has zero confidence at all and Azpi who isn't attack minded. There's no threat going forward other than Willian and Costa. The Everton defense therefore have it easy because they know exactly where the danger will come from and sniff it out. We really need a spark in there and some unpredictability. Also playing a dangerous game at the back. JT and Ivanovic as usual exposed by their complete lack of pace.

The Bridge sounds like a library.
-
At the very least we shouldn't get bullied in midfield. Plus, Pedro can't possibly be worse than last match, right?
-
So many years of getting excited for this kind of match. Now just hoping we'll make it competitive and not get embarrassed. A win would be so, so nice but I can't see it happening.

What I meant with the underdog comment was that Simeone is able to do what he's done at Atleti as an underdog that no one gives a chance up against the two giants. If he's able to do that there then what would he be like with a huge budget and better players? Can't help but think he'd be even better. The managers you've just named bar Pep are people that are either totally unproven like Sampaoli, cast-offs from clubs we're meant to rivals with (Pellegrini & Rodgers) or have managed teams who are the dominant ones in their weak leagues. Garcia was just sacked! Any of those would be a huge risk.
-
Like Steve Holland said just after José was sacked, this is a club and a team that requires a manager of big stature and experience. "Seeing something new" would likely mean giving some up and coming young manager their big break. If we have ambitions of getting back to challenging for the league and CL immedietly we need a world class, proven, highly experienced manager. If we hire some of these candidates that are being linked with us I can see them getting sacked within 1 season or a season and a half after failing to get our expensive, diva superstars to play up to their ability. Simeone to me seems like the kind of guy that can build something long term, have a set style and philosophy, and have us playing like a well oiled (and tough as nails) machine. He has proven and is proving again this season that he can take an underdog who can't spend unlimited money and have them eye to eye with the juggernauts. We get him here where he has players he's already familiar and also let him spend a nice chunk of money in the summer and I think we bnce straight back into title contention.
-
Simeone or bust for me at this point. Pellegrini/Sampaoli/Ranieri? Please no...
-
All faith that our board knows what it's doing and thinks of the future will go out the window if we sign yet another crock of a striker. Haven't we learned our lesson by now!? If we sign Pato then the answer is no.
-
Sacking Mourinho will look even more stupid if we end up without Simeone.
-
I hope we won't be so stupid as to sign Pato.
-
Think it may make it even harder to lure Simeone now. If he leaves when they're transfer banned it'll seem like he's abandoning them and he could ruin his legacy there.
-
I think if we appoint Simeone and back him by signing as many and ANY players he wants we can challenge for the title again next season. I have a bad feeling however that we're going to get the appointment wrong.
-
Starting to get seriously concerned about our future. Unless we appoint a genius of a manager that can turn things around instantly we could be looking at years to return to last years level. We risk getting left behind like Liverpool otherwise. Scary.
-
We are unbelievably and embarrassingly shit. No ideas, no cutting edge. Our defending is like Liverpool's under Rodgers. As bad as we were, they of course get 2 flukey, super lucky goals that they'd never score again in 50 tries. I fucking HATE football this season. Just bloody end this season.

That dirty looking ratty cunt Yacob is nailed on to score the winner after getting away with a 100% certain second yellow card isn't he? Every time I see WBA play he kicks players and plays like an asshole.
