Gittens as a player is at least intriguing much like Mathys Tel. But again, WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER ATTACK MID! At least not in this window. What these guys should be desperately looking for is a damned striker and they should have gone and recalled Santos from his loan 2 weeks ago. Lavia is an awesome player but is now maybe injured AGAIN after being back for 90 minutes total in the 2 matches since returning.

Garnacho is SHIT! I wouldn’t take him here for £20m, never mind the £70m or whatever United quoted Napoli the other day. The absolute last thing we need is another ultra inconsistent winger. Just fuck off if we have any genuine interest in him.

What we need is to do with Jackson what Pep has done with their striker situation. They have Haaland as their first choice #9 and had Julian Alvarez who they’re now finally replacing with Marmoush as the backup option. Nico needs to be our Alvarez/Marmoush. Someone who still gets lots of minutes but isn’t someone we depend solely on as our primary goal scorer because he’s not elite. Obviously we ain’t gonna get an alien like Haaland but there are absolutely elite level finishers out there if we pay the money. We’ve been willing to pay 100m+ for midfielders so I don’t see why our board are so blind to the fact that we may need to do so for a match winning goal scorer.

Of course they’re not available. But you have to try and make these clubs refuse big offers. A couple of the players City are about to sign were supposedly not for sale in January. But then City put up the money and sealed the deals within 2 weeks. They’re about to sign their 4th player this month.

City are absolutely loading up this window. I feel like they’re going to be significantly stronger in the second half of the season than that disaster of a first half.

Could just be a negotiating tactic, but the Bayern sporting director has just come out and basically rubbished the whole Nkunku & Tel thing. Would be pretty embarrassing for all these journalists who were all briefed at the same time about these deals and they were all wrong. Not that I’m complaining because he’s not what we need at all. But the idea of getting big money for Nkunku did sound nice considering he doesn’t fit here at all.

Arse have clearly realized that they badly need reinforcement up front and appear to be acting. Let’s see if our club does the same or just watches us continue to miss a dozen chances per match.

They’ve bought well in certain areas of the pitch but completely neglected or horribly mismanaged the most important ones. Striker they stupidly did nothing, CB they’ve bought several hard flops for considerable money, and at goalkeeper they’ve spent an absolute fortune on about 10 of them instead of going out and getting a proven, top quality one. I’m not one of those Chelsea supporters calling for their jobs because as you say, they’ve done well a lot of the time. But they deserve HARSH criticism for this past window where they completely failed to address our primary weak areas.

Broja has picked up another long term injury and Moyes says they’re sending him back to us and cancelling his loan. What a fucking disaster. After we gave him that new contract recently, too. Now he’s going to be another that’s going to rot on our books for years before disappearing into obscurity.

Considering the talent and quality in our side and the money we’ve spent compared to them, it’s legit embarrassing that we’re sitting behind Newcastle and fucking Nottingham Forest. Especially after the run we were on where we looked electric and were miles ahead of all of these sides that are now right on our tails or ahead of us. I just can’t help but be jealous when I see Arse with an unbelievably good CB pairing at one end of the pitch or Newcastle who have an unbelievably good striker at the other end. Meanwhile, we’re very good in every area except for those two which are the most important. Well over a BILLION spent under this new ownership and we still don’t have the two things you need most as a top team which is a top class CB partnership that plays together every single match and a lethal, ruthless finisher. And it doesn’t look like either of these things is going to be addressed until at least the summer when we may not even have UCL football. If we had Isak up front for us and Saliba next to Colwill we’d be going head to head with Liverpool for the title. Yet all we’re hearing about is us still targeting a 19 year old kid from Bayern and an “unnamed young CB” for the summer. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

There’s a reason myself and plenty of others weren’t too bothered by us letting Trev go. Again, he’s a decent CB but is not good enough as a regular starter for a club with UCL ambitions. Have people forgotten his limitations and why we were fine letting him leave? His forward passing range is pretty nonexistent, he panicked often with the ball when pressed, and most annoyingly he would get caught sleeping or out of position leading to awful goals. Will he have some solid games for us when he returns? Sure. But so does Tosin. I think a club like Palace was Trev’s level. He’s a midtable kind of CB.

So dumb. What we need is an immediate injection of top quality at CB. Trev is a good CB but is on the same level as Tosin. He’s no better.

If we fail to sign an elite finisher this month our board is going to cost Maresca his job. Failing to bring one in last summer and trusting the ultimate inconsistent striker Jackson and backing him up with a completely raw 18 year old was stupid enough. Seeing the evidence match after match after match and failing to go and get one this window would be pure insanity. We’ve seen reporters repeatedly say that we as a club NEED Champions League football revenue ASAP in order for all this spending to continue to work. If that’s the case they need to move rapidly in these next couple of weeks or we ain’t getting it.

Serious questions have to be asked about why we continuously look dead in the second halves. Over and over again. We look like a totally different team. And most of these guys are totally fresh having not played many games midweek. What the fuck has happened?

We went from what looked like a comfortable top 4 finish to now looking like we could legitimately finish midtable in the span a few weeks.

Maresca’s job is going to start coming into question soon. This is completely inexcusable.

Jackson would be sensational as an impact player off the bench against tired legs and for the occasional PL start. But with finishing like this he CANNOT be our primary striker or we are going nowhere.

Yet another game in this poor run where we should be AT LEAST 2-0 up but can’t finish a bunch of straightforward chances to kill the game. Jackson does all of the hard work and then fluffs his lines over and over again. Nico was amazing dropping deep and carrying the ball and creating chances but he himself can’t finish like an elite #9. Feels almost nailed on that Bournemouth will score some stupid goal out of nothing to punish our wastefulness.
