So what, does an agent phone up Jim White and say "hey, Jim, Chelsea are now interested in Ox. Tell everyone."
-
I've long been curious how these outlets find out about clubs "joining the race" to sign such and such player. Is there a que around the back of the Emirates where Klopp and Pep were standing? Now Conte's back there, too? Like, how the hell could they possibly know? No club official would tell them secretly, surely?
-
Good, solid player but I'm not sure he makes a whole lot,of sense for us. Not from his perspective, anyways. He'd have a similar situation here to the role he's got at Arsenal which is that he wouldn't be an automatic starter. That's the whole reason he wants out. Much as I'd dislike seeing him there, Liverpool makes the most sense.
-
I just can't see us bringing in another expensive CB that'll push Cahill out of the team. Unless Conte is cold blooded and benches the player who was captain in a title winning side and was a mostly solid 7 out of 10 guy. Would be really harsh on him, tbf. If we want to become an elite side we need an upgrade on him, though. Or maybe if we can land Alex Sandro + Bakayoko itll provide more protection for him and we won't need to replace him at all.
-
Knowing our board, if we fail to sign Sandro, rather than going after the next best target we'll wait until the deadline and panic buy someone not nearly as good. If we can't get him we need to throw that money at Mendy, Walker, Semedo. Someone top class.
-
I would hope we aren't a club that will be held to ransom by Diego Costa. Either we get a fee we think is satisfactory or I hope we keep him. Conte was able to talk him off the edge so to speak in January. Maybe he can do it again. Unless we're just desperate as hell to see the back of him, £26m is derisory for one of the world's best strikers. He's worth double that at least in today's market.
-
For that money they can have a signed photo of Diego Costa.
-
Who knows. Hopefully it's a "pay a bit more" rejection and not a "not for sale at any price" rejection.
-
Hasn't this been known for days now? Anyways, that's crazy money for them to turn down for a fullback. Especially for a club like Juve who, until last summer, had a reputation as a cheap club. Always low balling other clubs for their players. Hope we don't give up and can turn his head.
-
Doesn't seem to be circulating around much by anyone reliable so I think we can call BS here.
-
Yep. Would likely be an inexpensive, single season rental basically. He'd be a great signing for City.
-
That is indeed a fantastic looking team. None of those players would be that difficult to obtain either, with the exception of Sandro. Just a matter of paying the money since the likes of James, Alves, Lukaku, and Bakayoko have all more or less said they want to leave.
-
Probably talking about Pogba money for PSG to even consider selling him. Even then I'm not sure they would.
-
Like a drug fiend, people are desperate for signings. Shit, some guys from Chelsea Twitter would jizz themselves if we spent £50m on Ross Barkley they're so desperate.
-
Would be pretty ice cold of Conte to replace Alonso after his very solid season, admittedly. Can't have enough quality, though. Also feel that Moses was the fullback we more needed an upgrade on.
-
Don't get excited. Don't get excited. Don't get excited.
-
He's a moaning cunt. He'll throw his tantrum, they'll kiss his ass, and he'll stay right where he is.
-
Why would a massive club like Juve be willing to sell one of their best players? It makes no sense? We're a big club as well, but why would Sandro want to move clubs? Sounds way too implausible and too good to be true.
-
The James rumors sure died down quickly. Haven't heard anything since that single day the rumors started last week.
-
RLC is lazy as fuck. That's why he doesn't play regularly. He's not near Bakayoko's level yet. He needs to go on loan to a small PL club like Bournemouth or one of the newly promoted sides where he can play at a decent level every week.
-
Tbf, the club are hardly going to come out and say it's all true. You know what would calm things down? Announcing a player within the next week and extensions to the contracts of Hazard, Tibo, and Conte himself.
-
Think he wants both.
-
It's is kinda funny seeing other clubs doing a bunch of business already. A club like Everton spent over £50m today alone and are apparently close to another signing or two. City have made two first XI signings, Arsenal have made one, United have made one and are closing in on Morata. Only reason I'm not worried is that neither ourselves nor our closest rival last season in Spuds have signed anyone. That shows you that it's not panic time yet. If in a month from now we haven't I'll be shitting it.
-
If it's true, I wonder which scenario it is that's pissing him off. 1) That we aren't signing players in general 2) That we aren't signing them fast enough for his liking 3) That we won't give him his targets 4) He's seeing players he wanted go to other clubs Think I'm gonna go with a bit of #'s 2 and 3. Those are the most believable for our board.
