People need to take into account the circumstances. No preseason, very first ever game with new teammates, huge rival, arguably the best midfield in the league, and coming off a bad injury. All that considered he did well. Showed a few flashes of his power and made a couple of surging runs. He gave away some silly fouls but that will sharpen up. I feel like he'll form an awesome partnership with Kante going forward. They cover every blade of grass.

People actually think Morata played badly? What game were you watching? Other than the sitter of a header he missed early I thought he was very good. Each time he was actually able to get the ball and have some space he looked dangerous. Off the ball movement and runs were excellent. When your team can't hold the ball and he gets no service he can't exactly dominate, can he? Plus he was isolated with one or two CB's marking him.

I think I jumped through the roof after that 2nd Alonso goal. 😂 When we get Hazard back and Bakayoko gets up to speed we'll have an immense first XI.

We can't retain the ball to save our lives due to their pressing. As a result (and as I predicted prematch) Morata is starved of any service at all. We didn't really offer an attacking threat other than a few counter attacks. Bakayoko is clearly rusty and Dembele is running the midfield. Luiz was good at times in midfield and poor in others. They'll target him now that he's on a yellow. Azpi having a rare poor game as well. Kante was our standout player. Id get Pedro on soon because the best way to bypass their press is to play balls over the top. We need his running in behind.

Just a bit difficult to tell where the service into Morata will come from. It'll likely have to be from the wide areas through Willian and Moses because Kante & Bakayoko may get smothered by the 3 in midfield. This, in particular, is a game we'll really miss Hazard in.

Bakayoko's first appearence comes against the best midfield in the league. So nervous! I hate when were outnumbered in midfield.

Arsenal looked devoid of ideas that whole match. Missing a certain someone who dragged them to victory time and time again last season.

He's got all the physical tools and ability on the ball needed to be a world class player. It's still apparent where his weaknesses are, though. Noticed this throughout the Liverpool game. His off the ball work is lazy. Same as it was here and why I think Conte let him go on loan. You often see him just standing around and watching rather than getting after players. I think it's just part of his personality that I don't know will change. He's a laid back, nonchalant guy.

Liverpool have been woeful all game and then Palace hand them the easiest goal they'll score all season.
