  1. John across is pretty much the go to Arsenal guy. The Mirror is shit, but when it comes to Arsenal related stuff Cross is usually pretty tuned in. Also, it probably won't come down to money for Ox. He was just offered a ridiculous £180k a week from Arsenal and apparently said no. No chance Liverpool would offer near that and I doubt we would either. It'll all come down to who can offer him playing time and the role he wants. Honestly, Liverpool can probably offer him those things better than we can because their XI is filled with average players. Just have to hope the draw of working with Conte and staying in London are big things that sway him our way.
  2. The meltdown if he chooses Liverpool over us... If reports are accurate that Conte really, really wants him and he then chooses an average Liverpool side over the champions I think he may explode.
  3. Honestly, I don't even remember what happened with Willian. 😆
  4. I wonder if he goes straight into our side if we sign him. For the fee he'll cost and for him to turn down £180k a week and a starting spot every week at Arsenal he'll probably be given assurances about playing time, yes? Would be harsh on Moses but it's not like there aren't plenty of matches this season.
  5. Emery isn't up to the task for starters. Yeah, he'll be gone soon. They'll throw ridiculous money at a big name manager soon enough. Maybe Pep will ditch City next summer if he fails to win the league. We know he'll only join clubs who can outspend everyone so it's perfect for him.
  6. I'm just going to laugh when PSG still don't win the CL and thus make their season completely pointless once more.
  7. Our two supposed top targets are also wanted badly by Liverpool - Ox & Van Dijk. Seeing on Twitter that VVD has apparently been spotted near Liverpool's training ground today so he may end up there. Don't think we really need him anymore so not too bothered. Would really hope we can persuade Ox to come here, though. Would look pretty terrible if a player Conte himself is reportedly really pushing for ends up at Liverpool instead. To be realistic, Ox may feel he'd get more playing time in midfield or in attacking roles at Liverpool than he would here. I'm not sure how he feels about playing at wing back but if he sees himself there obviously we'd be his preference surely.
  8. I'm not that nervous about Roma. If we're fit as a squad and in form at the time we have a much better team than they do. Plus they lost two of last season's key players in Rüdiger and Salah. Atleti is going to be brutal.
  9. This should hopefully put even more pressure on our club to bolster the squad in this final week of the window. Our tiny squad will be far too stretched for these CL games.
  10. This feels like a joke. Chelsea and Spuds finish miles higher than the other English clubs and get rewarded with super difficult groups, whereas United get a piss easy Europa League quality group after scraping in at the last second.
  11. Hopefully you're right. Just think Wenger will look like an absolute clown (more so than he already does) if he sells us a player he highly rates and who he'll have started in all of their games so far on the deadline to a direct, hated rival with no one in to replace him. They haven't really been linked with a player like Ox from what I've seen so clearly he's in Wenger's plans this season. Think the only way this happens is if we put in a huge offer and Ox really pushes for the move. Even then Wenger has held very firm on Sanchez this whole summer. But surely they can't risk all 3 of Sanchez, Özil, and Ox all leaving on free's next summer? They have a poor season and you can definitely see them leaving for greener pastures. Better to get £35m from us for Ox now than risk that, surely.
  12. I feel like the longer we wait the less chance we have. Would probably be wise to give them time to get a replacement in.
  13. I do! Not top class like Hazard but still a very good player. Just like Pedro.
  14. Closer it gets to deadline day the more I'm hoping we can pull this off. The Arsenal fans seem very polarized on him. Some think he should be kept and offered whatever salary it takes because he's great, others are saying the club should take the rumored £35m and they'd drive him to Cobham themselves. He's the Arsenal version of Willian it seems. 😆 Some fans think he's average, others very good.
  15. What's not to like about how we've played footballer under Conte if I may ask? Do you only like tiki-taka, walk the ball in the net football?
  16. All true, and I don't think we do need him. I'm just saying that I'd have him here no questions asked if possible. Can see a fresh Jamie Vardy wreaking absolute havoc on tired legs. "Plan B" if we're struggling could involve bringing on Cesc to repeatedly play balls through and over the top to a rampaging Vardy. Massive pain in the ass for opposing teams. I'm imagining sides like West Brom who will set up only to defend for 90 minutes. They'll expend so much energy that bringing on a player like Vardy would be a great weapon to have rather than a lumbering giant like Llorente. Not that any of this discussion matters anyways because they'd never sell him with no time to replace him and we'd probably have to pay far more than he's worth even if we had bought him earlier.
  17. Huh? Vardy is absolutely nothing like Morata or Bats. Vardy does almost all of his damage on counter attacks by running on to a through ball or lob into open space where he can build up a head of steam. He is totally different to our strikers.
  18. Surely there must have been some serious concerns over his off the pitch issues because you would think ourselves and several other big clubs would have snatched him up for that price. Fantastic signing for Spuds.
  19. 💩💩💩 Like last season, I hope we look back at the end of this campaign and laugh at these sacking rumors.
  20. The media seem to love linking us with impossible targets lately. Do they even think things through before posting utter rubbish? Like, do they really think Everton will sell an essential player with only a few days left in the window? Just like the Vardy rumor.
  21. Miguel Delaney has a piece just out saying that David Luiz's performance against Spuds may effect Conte's thinking going forward in terms of transfer targets. That maybe David can permanently move into midfield and as a result signing VVD makes sense and we'd have no reason to sign Drinkwater. It's an interesting idea and I like the thought of a midfield 3 of Baka/Kante/Luiz like we deployed at Spuds. David sits at the base while Kante and Baka use their endless energy to bomb forward and support the attack more. Would save us quite a bit of money that's for sure.
  22. Would be a shame to see him there. He strikes me as the opposite profile of player for Spuds who seem to only like the squeaky clean, "nice guy" sort of players. His game is nearly identical to Kyle Walker's, though, so from a skill set point of view it makes perfect sense. Super athletic, great pace, loves to bomb forward.
  23. What use would we have for Barkley if we sign Drinkwater? Seems like it should be one or the other.
