  1. I love Cesc and I really, REALLY hope Conte decides to play with 3 midfielders like he did with Pirlo, Vidal, and Pogba. Cesc would be unbelievable with the legs of both Kante and Bakayoko around him. Free of defensive dirty work he could be unstoppable. I think we'd be able to completely dominate most of the PL including some of the other big teams with that midfield 3. We also wouldn't have to worry against opponents like Spuds and City where they dominated much of the play and possession due to Matic and Kante being too limited. We would be the ones doing the bullying.
  2. As mentioned above, why the fuck would City be after a £30m RB after buying another one for £50m just 2 days ago? And why would Danilo even consider going there when the main reason he'd leave Madrid is because he's behind Carvahal? Just sounds like City trying to hoard players like they do with attacking midfielders.
  3. Surely we've got to go all out for Belotti now before Milan get him?
  4. Don't think we should panic until the season is just about to start and we're still 3-4 signings short. The speed with which our board is working is extremely annoying, though.
  5. Nothing to do with being broke or the new stadium, guys. We just a couple of days ago spent £40m on Bakayoko, ffs. The article Matt Law just put out last night is what he's been briefed I think. The club are taking their time and won't rush into something after missing out on Lukaku. Whether or not that's smart is questionable.
  6. In the theoretical situation where our new £80m striker gets injured for months we'd just have Michy playing up top with no cover? We need 3 strikers in our squad for sure. No chance will that be Benteke because he'd be way too expensive and he's far too good still to be a bench warmer.
  7. Think he'd be a fantastic Plan B, backup striker just like Llorente would be. Not sure it would make any sense at all for Benteke when he's got a nice starting role for a decent club already. Non-story as Palace would probably demand £40m or something for him as he's their main man.
  8. Doesn't he play on the right?
  9. The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if the club intentionally didn't mention anything about his rumored injury as to not take the shine off his signing right away. You hear nothing but "Chelsea signed a fuxking crock," from everyone. Instead we'll quietly mention it in a few day when he links up fully with the squad.
  10. As long as a striker is in great physical condition and can clearly still play at an elite level for a few more years I don't care about their age. It's why I would take Aguero no questions asked if it were possible even though he's just about 30. I mean, we just saw a 35 year old Zlatan easily play in the PL and could comfortably do so for another couple of seasons if he hadn't picked up that freak injury.
  11. What's more annoying is every article related to Chelsea claiming how angry Conte is with everything or how he's fuming at this or fuming at that. They make him sound like he's the Incredible Hulk rampaging around Cobham 24/7.
  12. In other words, we ain't even close to signing a striker...
  13. All the stuff I'm seeing from journalists that actually cover City say there's no chance. It's a non starter. Unlike the Alexis Sanchez situation, Aguero has no real reason to leave City. Unless Pep sees Jesus as the first choice #9, I suppose.
  14. Conte's system and coaching made Victor Moses look class in a title winning side. In a position he was t even familiar with before last season. Don't see why anyone would be against this. If he doesn't return to his Porto quality then at least we'd have decent cover at RWB. If he does, we have a big upgrade on Moses. It's a bit of a "no lose" situation in my eyes.
  15. Exactly. This is RvP to United. They'd be making us significantly stronger. Too good to be true.
  16. Just like I'm sure we have "strong and serious" interest in Alexis and Alex Sandro. If their clubs won't sell then it means nothing.
  17. Our old buddy and serial bullshitter Tancredi Palmeri has dropped one of his "BOOM's" saying we're in talks with/for Aguero. If the likelihood was 5% before, now that Tancredi says it's happening it's 0%.
  18. They already signed Andre Silva for a pretty big price. Sounds like Milan's new ownership wants to do a PSG and simply hoover up as many big names and expensive players as quickly as they can to buy their way out of mediocrity. Still not worried yet personally. The pool is shrinking for us, though!
  19. Maybe, but he'd be seen as Judas by the Arsenal fans and Wenger would be killed if he sold him to a London rival. Sanchez probably wouldn't want to completely destroy his "legacy" and reputation with Arse fans, City are a bit of a nothing club so they'll get over him going there eventually.
  20. Injury prone I agree with. Don't agree with the others. He's still miles better than Jesus, imo. When fit he's still world class and the best striker in the league. Can score world class goals with his head, his feet, great in the box, great from long distance, and draws lots of fouls in great positions. Man City would be unbelievably stupid to sell him to us. He'd be the focal point of our team whereas at City under Pep they like playing slow, tippy tappy football and try to walk the ball in the net. Aguero would win us the title.
  21. The fact that only one random reporter tweeted it and not a single other reputable source has also reported it should say it all. No chance.
  22. I agree with people saying he says a cunt. One of those players you despise when he's against you but would love him on my team. Pep would be an idiot to even consider selling him here which is why it won't happen. But if we pulled off the impossible and signed him and he can stay fit for the majority of the season we're winning the league again. Aguero + Hazard would be like playing with cheats.
  23. I don't think he misses so many games that it would put me off wanting him. Still scored a boat load of goals last season. I think he's still a world class player. That's why they would never sell him here.
  24. Sure. They'd never sell him to us.
