  1. YouTube usually has highlight videos where even decent plauers can be made to look top class. Youtube can't even make him look good! What a strange, strange target.
  2. Years ago. In an emergency situation he can fill in for a match or two. Thinking about using him there with any regularity would be stupid.
  3. Azpi moving to RWB I can definitely see. No way should Luiz ever play in midfield again unless there's literally no one else available on the day. Hope Conte never even considers that. If the club simply cannot get a quality upgrade on Moses then signing VVD and moving Azpi makes sense.
  4. He's at his exact level now. A slightly below midtable Leicester side. He's no better than that. He'd be a nice signing for a club like Stoke or West Brom. I cannot believe that we'd seriously be after him. That's not to say he wouldn't do a serviceable job if called upon here, but surely spew should be aiming higher? Can't see any of our rivals even sniffing around him. Even Liverpool who love a bargain basement midtable signing.
  5. Which further reinforces my opinion that there's no way Conte wanted Matic to go. It was 100% a board decision. He could've stayed and been a vital member of our squad. Now he's a vital member of a direct rivals squad while we are dangerously short in midfield.
  6. Like I and others have said, Matic is still too good of a player to have sold to a direct rival. There's no way Conte would've sent him there if it were completely up to him. Much like Cech to Arsenal where Mou would've blocked that.
  7. Disagree. Will he be bombing forward constantly and beating players with his dribbling? No. But he'd do very well in the role in my opinion. Besides, it's much more important to have a more attacking wing back on the other side to support Hazard. Having wing backs on both sides that are weak defensively will be a disaster against top opposition now that we have many more matches.
  8. A back 3 of Rüdiger, Luiz, and Van Dijk with Azpi at RWB would be completely dominant in the PL. We may lose a bit in attack on the right with Azpi there but I think he'd do very well in that role. Much better defensively than Moses and decent enough further up the pitch. We'd have 3 CB's who are physically dominant, very comfortable on the ball, and can all spray the ball around easily. Add Kante and Bakayoko in front of them and I'd say we have the most complete and balanced XI in the league. I'd also trust Cesc in a midfield 2 more with a CB of Van Dijk's quality added to the side. The negative as already mentioned is that Christensen would surely be off. Don't think we'd sell him but probably loan. At this point I'm putting this in the "too good to be true" category personally. I'm not convinced we're after another top CB.
  9. Bit suspicious that literally only the one source is reporting this. You would think Chelsea making a £50m move for a player would be a big deal that a bunch of papers would be investigating.
  10. Oh my. Not sure I believe we're after another CB. If we got VVD, though, it's surely the end of Cahill in our first XI?
  11. PSG are spending £200m on a single player and our club can't even buy a couple of wing backs and a midfielder. 😞
  12. Not sure I can see United spending £200m on Bale + Lukaku in one summer. It would take their business to about £300m in a single window.
  13. Mbappe can go and slot straight in to Barca's XI in Neymar's vacated spot. Who is he knocking out of RM's XI? The club and Bale himself have been very clear that he's going nowhere this summer.
  14. Would be a a great signing if he can keep his head. Conte doesn't tolerate any shit so I wouldn't be worried about him.
  15. The sad thing is we probably won't even panic buy good players, either. We'll wait until the deadline day and panic buy/loan a couple of painfully average players that will barely play and be sold a year from now. It's actually incredible that the season starts in mere days and we have yet to sign 2 new wing backs. Knowing for literally months that they're a priority position of need. Our club is great at getting good fees for players we sell and all things sponsorships/business deals. But when it comes to buying players and doing so in a timely manor they're terrible. United and City got a bunch of players in early and they've also played a number of matches more than us in their preseason to bed them in. They'll likely be able to hit the ground running. Morata will probably enter the Burnley match having played about 90 minutes total. Rüdiger likewise. Bakayoko will take a bit to even see the pitch. Any further signings will take time to settle. Just super frustrating. I can't see us having a nightmare start or anything like we did a couple of years ago but won't be surprised if we lose/drop points against both Everton and Spuds in our first 3 games.
  16. Yeah, there's no chance Captain Cahill is getting dropped any time soon.
  17. Neymar was desperate to leave, kicking up a fuss, and physically fighting with teammates. Plus he's got a greedy agent/family guiding him. Hazard is too classy and mature to pull shit like that. Barca can probably go out and replace Neymar this close to the season. No way we'd be able to sign an adequate Hazard replacement at this point. If Hazard does eventually go we'll have to have it planned out in advance and a replacement in hand ahead of time.
  18. They know there's zero chance they could bully a club like us into selling our best player this close to the season starting. Plus, even with the Neymar money, would Barca be willing to spend the £100m we'd ask for Eden? I'm not sure.
  19. I hope that happens, then. I think Barkley would be a good signing assuming he settles in and actually plays. Same with The Ox.
  20. Just can't understand it from any angle except for Neymar wanting more money. Joining a nothing league and a a club that are basically the Man City of France. No one really cares about PSG outside of France. They have no better chance of winning the CL than Barca do. I could understand if he went to another historically giant club like Milan/Juve/Bayern, but PSG? They'll win their weak league by 30 points and every season will be seen as a total failure unless they win the CL. I mean, they had Zlatan scoring bonkers numbers and they still didn't get that close to winning it. Were Barca just unwilling or unable to pay anywhere close to what PSG are offering him in wages?
  21. As with Renato Sanches, I think the club would gladly take him but I'm not sure either player would agree to join us because they'd be in rotational roles. Barkley in particular can just stay at Everton and play the majority of their games. He'd probably be competing directly with Cesc for his spot here.
  22. Seeing a lot of the same thing on Twitter. Also things like "He was an absolutely vital part of Chlesea's team last year. One of their best players." I think he'll do very well initially but his shortcoming will become apparent as the season goes on. He's a definite upgrade on Fellaini and Carrick at his age so I still think it was dumb to sell him there. He's not going to elevate their overall level like all their fans are now saying. When they play quick passing, highly mobile midfields theyll struggle.
  23. Don't know why anyone bothered watching him against Liverpool. Ancelotti shut the door completely on him leaving, didn't he?
  24. Exactly what I was thinking. He'll probably go to Milan, tear it up, and help them win/challenge for the title and then start kicking up a fuss after not enjoying his off the pitch life. Knowing Milan are loaded now I really hope the club can get a respectable fee for him. Not the laughable fees that Atleti were supposedly offering.
