  1. Honestly, missing out on both Garnacho and Tel would be a big time blessing in disguise. I’m glad it seems as if the Garnacho situation just died suddenly after everyone and their mother had reported it was happening. Neither player is what we need at all right now. Especially Tel, a player with no defined position and who is too raw to be a major contributor in an already young team. At this point I’m done even thinking about the this club bringing in anyone this week. I don’t trust them. So now my focus is on hoping they don’t do anything stupid. Signing nobody is better than them making some stupid deal for a player like Disasi who we’ll be trying to sell off 6 months from now.
  2. Replacing a dude who barely played with a teenager who can’t get a game at Bayern just seems silly. Garnacho was a stupid target but at least he has a load of PL matches under his belt.
  3. What exactly does Mathys Tel bring to us? I just don’t get it, man…
  4. Our complete ineptitude at bringing in any players that we badly need has kinda of overshadowed the fact that we’ve been just as incompetent at getting rid of a bunch of players who should be sold.
  5. The club will panic and do something I feel. But it definitely won’t be someone any of us want.
  6. I just can’t escape the feeling that if we spent mega money on Duran he’d come here and flop.
  7. Both Felix & Nkunku are quite clearly players that need to be playing constantly to show their levels. Coming in for 5 minutes here or 10 minutes there or not even playing at all for multiple matches in a row is never going to lend itself to these guys showing anything. They’ve both gotten fucked over, really. But honestly, I can’t even put complete blame on Maresca. He quite rightly thinks that Palmer should always be on the pitch in the PL and he occupies that same area that Christo & Felix like to. Sticking either of them out on the wing makes them ineffective and despite not being in great form we have plenty of natural wingers. So they’re kind of just unlucky that our best and most important player is a #10 and without him on the pitch we ain’t scoring many goals. So where does that leave Felix and Nkunku? Not playing as we see. As much as I really, really wanted him back and as brilliant as I think he is as a footballer it was clearly a mistake to bring Felix back. I could still imagine a scenario where he could thrive here but it would require Maresca to drop one of his favorites Madueke and play Palmer out on the right which he did to great effect last season. I think Felix in the 10, Palmer on the right, and Neto or Sancho on the left would be amazing but we haven’t even seen Enzo try it. As for Nkunku, his situation is just so disappointing. When we signed him I genuinely thought he’d take us to a whole new level. But watching him these days he just comes across as completely disinterested, lazy, and as if he’d rather be anywhere else. He just jogs around half-heartedly. Which I really can’t even blame him for because he gets used in positions he doesn’t like and in the lesser competitions nobody cares about. I can’t see how we don’t take MASSIVE losses on both of them considering the fees we paid.
  8. Already braced for us to sign some attacker who most of us ask “who the fuck is that?” in the final days of the window. Then when we buy yet another player who isn’t Chelsea quality we’ll be flogging them in 6 months time. That’s if we sign anyone at all.
  9. Palace wouldn’t sell him surely.
  10. “Setting up a move for the summer” in regards to a #9 does us a whole lot of good when we’re desperate for one now. 🤦‍♂️ No club is going to sanction their elite striker being sold in the last couple of days of the window. So we can completely forget about any of those at this point. If we do bring in a #9 this week it’ll be some insane panic signing like Evan Ferguson on loan. The club have fucked it up terribly.
  11. Tbh, I think I’d rather have Delap for our team specifically. Works and runs his fucking socks off and is a nightmare for opposing defenses as we witnessed firsthand. Duran seems more like a “moments” striker, right? Someone who can score absolute bangers out of nowhere but is he a #9 who is going to be a constant menace to defenders? Someone would have to tell me.
  12. All this talk about sending out all these players while there isn’t any talk about how we replace them. Veiga was our only viable LB cover since Maresca doesn’t fancy Chilwell. Felix and Nkunku have been perfect rotation options in the other competitions.
  13. What an unmitigated disaster this last transfer window (and this one as a result) was. And as for Duran who people keep bringing up, I know he was scoring some bangers to start the season but hasn’t he been super quiet in recent times? Is he actually what we need at all? A young, still very raw striker when that’s what we already have in Jackson? I’m not sure he’d be a smart signing at all.
  14. Just feels like the Sterling loan move. Like yeah, he’s out of sight and out of mind for a few months which I guess is a benefit to us. But also like Sterling, Did]sas I will now come back in the summer and be extremely difficult to sell unless he kills it on loan which is unlikely.
  15. How the hell does sending Disasi on loan benefit us at all? 🤦‍♂️
  16. I hope it’s not just a loan. Because if he goes somewhere on loan and stinks up the place like he has here it’ll be even harder to move him on in the summer.
  17. Disasi nailed on to score the winner from a corner against us next time we play Villa, then! 🤣
  18. You would think things would start going crazy in terms of links in these final days. The holes in our squad couldn’t be more obvious and our chances of top 4 are getting tougher and tougher with each match. Yet it’s crickets from us. Nothing at all about a striker, nothing at all about midfield cover. Nico Jackson is already in horrendous form on top of not being good enough to be our main striker anyways. So literally wtf would we do if he got injured a week from now and was out for an extended period? Play teenaged Marc Guiu who Maresca doesn’t think is ready for PL level yet? Play a false 9 who would be even less effective than Jackson is? It’s pure malpractice that these directors haven’t brought someone in. And God forbid, what happens if Caicedo or Enzo pick up a big injury? With Lavia out long term once again we are paper thin in CM. Another injury in there and I wouldn’t fancy us again ANY decent team.
  19. For the life of me I just don’t see what Tel offers this team in the immediate term. He’s apparently too raw/not good enough to get any minutes at all for Bayern in a much weaker league but he’s good enough to come into the PL and play a meaningful role for a team desperate to turn our poor form around and push for top 4? I just don’t get it. Whilst I don’t rate Garnacho and still don’t think we need him at all whatsoever, at the very least he has played a load of games in English football already and we’d kind of know what we’re getting.
  20. So, still not even a whisper about us pushing for a striker…
  21. Yep, I predicted the back 4 exactly right. Really hope we at give a good account of ourselves here and don’t look as pathetic as we often have against City in recent years.
  22. Nkunku makes about as much sense at Man United as he does here. Not much, that is. I don’t see how he suits them.
  23. Maresca has now said that he HOPES Lavia will be back by mid March. Hopes. Meaning it could be even fucking longer. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ If that’s the case, how on earth can we afford to not bring in another midfielder in the next week? Even if it’s a loan until the end of the season we MUST do something. We are an injury to Caicedo away from our whole season imploding and finishing midtable. And we already got that injury scare with him against Wolves the other day.
  24. I literally just said there that he’s never going to say anything highly critical in public. He doesn’t have to say anything at all. He should have long ago just gone with Jorgensen for a handful of games and seen how he does. Sanchez does several dumbass things just about every game. I just don’t get why he is undroppable.
  25. Like @Vesper says, it’s gaslighting from Maresca. I really don’t know what it is about Sanches that he loves so much. Of course he’s never going to kill a player in public but Sanchez feels completely untouchable in terms of his place in the team which is crazy.
