Our hierarchy are probably now looking to current PSG as our blueprint. Sold or let go of all their huge name superstars and brought in a bunch of young, hungry talents who are all blossoming into a world class unit together. A team that can grow together over a long period. We can almost 100% rule out signing the like of Osimhen because we still won’t go near his wage demands. Or anyone else in that upper echelon. We simply won’t be a club that goes for ready made stars any longer. What we WILL and have already done is spend insane money on teenaged talents in hopes that some will turn into the next world class superstar. We may not like the strategy but it IS a strategy. The issue I and most of us have is that we desperately need to supplement these young talents with proven quality in specific positions which this board has refused to do. Buy all the young talents you want everywhere else, but at striker, CB, and keeper we HAVE to bring in proven players who are 25+ if we have even a prayer of taking a big step forward next season.

As poor as Sancho has been I think Madueke may frustrate and annoy me even more. Because he is a guy who thinks he’s way better than he actually is. I’d do a full-on reset of our wide options in the summer. Pedro Neto is the only one I like and want to stay. Sancho can be sent back to United and sell Madueke to the highest bidder.

A team I hate playing against. They’ve got nothing to play for other than wanting to annoy and frustrate the shit out of us which I’m sure they will do. I’m expecting an incredibly infuriating match.

I’m just mentioning him because of the expectation vs what we actually got. Yes, he played a key part in an important stretch for us but when he was bought he was one of the most lethal finishers in Europe and we hoped we’d get a 15-20 goal per season forward. Instead he never lived up to that final Leipzig season he had and still hasn’t come close since.

Fofana is too often injured to depend on and too often injured to sell. Who would buy a player who will be seemingly nailed on to miss huge chunks of every season? Nobody unless it’s back to France on loan with us covering his whole salary. Such a fucking shame too I was so excited about his signing. He looked nailed on to go to the very top before that catastrophic knee injury at Leicester. An experienced CB is an absolute must this summer.

I don’t think Delap & Guehi are TOP class or anything but I’d actually welcome both in the summer at this point just because I’m sick and tired of players coming in from other leagues and flopping. I’m not saying we shouldn’t buy non-PL players at all this coming window, but filling our biggest areas of need with guys who can instantly settle and who have been playing PL football for years could be huge. We’re already going to have several young guys coming in like Estevão, Andrey Santos, and the midfielder from Sporting we just bought who will need time to settle in. Getting ready made, ready to slot in players is a must for me. Names like Gittens scare me because he could be yet another Bundesliga wide attacker like Werner, Nkunku, or even Sancho who looked like world beaters there but flop in the PL.

The Liverpool keeper situation is crazy. It feels nonsensical from their POV. They’ve got the world’s best keeper who is only 32, they’ve got a backup who everyone rv]aves about and says is easily a #1 keeper for a top team, and then they go out and buy Mamardasvili who is also a top class keeper. We should be ALL OVER whoever leaves them, right? Alisson would be the perfect age to be the bridge to whenever Penders is ready.
