Thankfully we’ve got Santos and the kid from Sporting coming in this summer so we have plenty of quality depth and options on the way. For this reason I am not ready to give up on Lavia and sell him. We can afford to keep giving him chances to stay fit for a long stretch if he’s not a player who we depend on for big minutes.

I was delighted when we signed him and when he has actually played he’s been one of our best players. He’s an unbelievable talent. There’s gotta be something sports science wise that can be done to help him avoid these constant injuries. This is somehow worse than Reece, ffs.

Isak would cost £180m or something impossible for anyone these days unless PSG for instance comes for him. No PL team is touching him unless his contract is nearly up. People can forget about him. Tbh, if Jackson returns the rest of this season and returns to form I don’t think adding Delap as his rotation option would be the worst thing. Is it ideal when Sesko or Osimhen are there to be had? No. But he can be a real weapon in the PL as we witnessed first hand when we played them.

Gyokeres was never going to choose us if this summer anyways so I’m not even mad. Arsenal is in win now mode and are 1 or 2 pieces away from being title favorites next season. So for a #9 like Gyökeres who is just about to enter his prime years and is fully developed as a player a club like Arsenal is perfect. He wouldn’t choose a “project” club like ours who isn’t serious about competing in the near term. Now, what DOES make me mad is the fact that we’ve given Sporting like 70m+ for a couple of teenagers and are rumored to be interested in even more of their players when that money could’ve gone towards Gyokeres months ago. And with him we’d have been much more comfortable in this race for 4th. Now unless we go back in for Osimhen it’ll be yet another summer of us scrounging around for random #9’s. 🤦‍♂️

I look forward to Lavia returning for this one, looking amazing as usual, and then we’ll find out days later that he got injured for another couple of months or something. 🤦‍♂️

I’m sure signing 10 more 17 year old this summer and telling everyone we’re perfectly happy with the goal keepers will make us more competitive next season. 🙄🙄🙄 We’re going to have another season identical to this one next year unless these jokers in charge supplement all these young and inconsistent players with top, PROVEN quality in the 25-28 year old range. We’ll once again have periods during the season where we’ll look great, long periods where we look awful, and we’ll finish between 5th-8th again miles off of the contenders.

Only plausible explanation as to why we’ve bought him is that he’s Lavia insurance as a pure DM. And Andrey Santos will hopefully rotate with Caicedo and Enzo. Because if we’ve bought this kid so that we can cash in on Santos I’m going to be extremely pissed off.

Don’t get this one at all. We’ll have Andrey Santos and Ugo to return in the summer to add to Lavia in the deep midfield role. Even if we don’t think Ugo is good enough for Chelsea (which I don’t) we’re still well stocked there. Feels like yet another young talent hoarding signing where he’ll be flipped in a couple of years.

If we don’t see some sort of pulse from the team against Brighton again in a few days I may check out until the summer.

We get NOTHING from either wing no matter who is out there, nothing from whoever is playing up top, and when Palmer isn’t on it we have ZERO chance of creating anything. Combine that with catastrophic, completely out of nowhere defensive errors every match. It’s complete madness that we went from looking like one of the best teams in the league up until December where we were shredding teams and scoring for fun to this. With the exact same players who are all fit.

Maresca’s job has to be under threat for me. We’ve now looked like relegation level for over 2 months now. With a basically fully fit squad bar 1 or 2 injuries. For us to have all this talent and to look this woeful is completely inexcusable. Early horror mistake from their keeper aside we did NOTHING the entire rest of the way. Again, against a team that just lost 7-0.

This is a side that lost 7-0 just a few days ago to Forest. Not only do we not even look like coming close to scoring, we aren’t even testing their keeper or defense AT ALL. Embarrassing as hell.

Not one but TWO Brighton handballs there and no VAR to call them. But it’s no more than we deserve. Have come out sleepwalking yet again.

Yep. After such a promising start he looks super timid again like he was at United. He receives the ball well under pressure and is good at maintaining the ball but is either scared to take his man on or when he does he can’t get past anyone lately. And on the other win we have Neto who has actually looked dangerous lately but he’s putting all these great crosses into the box where nobody is ever home to get in the end of them. All of our attackers are just in woeful form all at the same time. It’s so awful to watch. We so badly needed some freshening up in the window and refused to do so.

Zero quality in the final third at all that half. We don’t look like coming close to scoring a goal through open play.

Unless Lavia returns this season and ends the PL campaign with a long run of games where he’s fit and performing well, I think Santos will rerun to the club and immediately replaces Romeo as that 3rd midfielder who starts together with Caicedo and Enzo. I’m not worried about the club cashing in on him at all.

Knew as soon as we saw him jump and land awkwardly on his knee against West Ham the other day that he was going to be injured again.

The exact scenario I repeatedly raised during the entire January window. What would happen if Jackson got injured. This injury doesn’t seem serious but it just exposes yet again that’s it’s crazy we didn’t sign anyone. With Guiu now out now too it makes the club look even dumber.

Even if he cost a fraction of that I’m glad we stayed away. Or that he decided against coming here due to playing time. Whichever it was I’m good. I don’t think he’d have had any impact here.
