It’s funny, up until the beginning of this week when we were first after him Xavi wasn’t even on my radar as a potential Chelsea player. He was never really a name linked with us from what I recall. But now that I’ve been watching loads of footage and highlights of him this week I think he would be the most exciting signing we make this summer. I’d be super let down if we don’t get him now. Hopefully some positive updates today from the big reporters.

Yeah, kinda concerned. I wonder if these journalists jumped the gun a bit making it sound as though a deal was close. We may have just contacted Leipzig to get an idea of how much they wanted for him and that’s all. If we don’t get some significant movement like a bid going in or a “he ONLY wants Chelsea” from Fabrizio or Ornstein then I’m assuming the deal isn’t as sure as it seemed earlier in the week.

Feels like he disappeared into a black hole the minute we signed him. I forgot he existed. Haven’t heard anything all summer about him going anywhere either.

Kid is surely bought in to loan and flip for 2-3x whatever we signed him for. Will never see him near a Chelsea XI.

Isak going to Liverpool doesn’t even bother me at this point tbh. I kind of view it like when City were completely dominating in recent years and still adding top quality players. They were already a 10/10 attacking team so what does adding another star actually do?

I still do t see how Liverpool getting Isak makes any sense after they’ve signed Ekitike for £80m. Isak starts every PL and UCL match if he’s fit. So they’re going to have an £80m striker who just arrived sitting on the bench most games? It’s nonsensical.

Feels like a copy and paste of the same thing we heard this time yesterday. Seems the player side is essentially set but we are still haggling with Leipzig about the fee.

Been a while since the latest Simons update. Surely if we’ve been pushing as hard as the reports say and if he’s keen to join then we should be hearing today that personal terms have been sorted and a bid has gone in? If we hear nothing substantive today I’m going to assume that another club or two have joined the race and are trying to hijack.

For like the 50th day in a row, Fabrizio has again this evening said to keep an eye on Chelsea/Garnacho. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ This better not all be setting up for “hey, we tried to get Xavi Simons but couldn’t agree a few so we’ll get Garnacho instead.”

€40m for a talent like Hato is insane. If he played for another PL club anyone going for him would be quoted £80m.

Atleti are suddenly about to sign this David Hancko guy who plays as a hybrid CB/LB just like Veiga. So I guess that move is off the table for us. Wonder what’s next for him then. We obviously wouldn’t be attempting to sign Hato if Veiga had any way back in to our team. So he’s got to have some move lined up.

Rodrygo or Simons would probably have the most immediate impact but Rogers long term may have the most potential simply due to his physical tools. Yildiz I really like but need to see him for another season feels slightly too soon for a massive money move.

Just have to hope that us getting in there and pushing hard before anyone else means that the player appreciates the effort and tells the other suitors his mind is made up.

I think Hato is 100% going to happen but I don’t want to get too confident about Simons just yet. Every one of these reporters saying we’re pushing hard and advancing but that there’s still a concrete possibility that other clubs jump in and try to hijack him. I don’t want to get too emotionally invested in the move happenening because then if Arse for example hijack him it would be a gut punch. Bayern is the other name mentioned but surely if they’re after Luis Diaz they don’t want Xavi as well?

Get them both done this week and that should be our transfer window done and dusted in terms of incomings. Then we’ve got the entire last several weeks of the window to sell unwanted players and find great loans for others.

The Hato move seems to be happening at lightning speed. We must have been working on him behind the scenes for quite a while.

If we sign Simons and then still go after Garnacho then I am really scratching my head.

I love Tosin and there’s zero chance I’d think of selling him. A leader, very well liked and respected by his teammates, very solid almost every time he’s on the pitch, and importantly isn’t someone who is going to make a fuss if he doesn’t start every match. He’s the picture perfect squad player for a club like this. All these mentions of Wes Fofana in some of these stories is strange to me. There should be ZERO planning of the squad or team around him. His knees are a ticking time bomb that are likely to blow up at any moment he’s on the pitch.

From what I’ve seen he is still a bit raw but is super talented. Basically the perfect understudy to the more experienced Cucu.
