  1. 😂😂😂 One day we're mere moments from announcing Sarri, the next we haven't even bloody contacted them. Just have to laugh!
  2. In other words, once again, nothing is happening anytime soon. These "in the know" journalists (even the Italian ones who you'd think may have a clue) know fuck all.
  3. Knowing the Chelsea board lately we'll be after the Saudi Arabia coach.
  4. Promise them we won't, sign Sarri, and then activate the clauses anyways as a "fuck you" to De Laurentiis for being a gigantic asshole to us for years.
  5. This. Mourinho in the past has had no problem selling players to rivals and has openly said as much. But out of spite I doubt he'd sell Martial to us. He'd never hear the end of it from fans or the media if Martial realizes his potential here. That being said, I'd take him here in an instant. Under a manager who wants to play on the front foot and be aggressive (like, say, Sarri *wink wink*) he could be brilliant. Just not a Mourinho player at all. Mou wants a workhorse wide player like Willian.
  6. Fuck Albiol. The Bayern boss has come out today and said Boateng is available for the right price. When fit he's great and is best mates with Rüdiger already and comfortable playing with him I'd imagine. If we are actually after another CB he should be the main target since Koulibaly is not obtainable.
  7. Pretty much what I was thinking. Possibly the only other club that is as big of a circus as we are just appointed a new manager almost instantly. We've been completely silent for ages.
  8. Conte was never going to Real Madrid so I don't think them appointing another manager changes anything.
  9. Fuck all is happening until after the World Cup.
  10. Doesn't look like anything is happening today on the managerial front. But hey, at least we announced a shiny new sleeve sponsor! That's made up for the long silence since season's end.
  11. If we brought in Sarri + Zielinski, Hysaj, and Koulibaly we may very well be right up there challenging City for the league. Not so keen on Higuain but wouldn't say no. It's just impossible to think Napoli would sell off all their best players in one window. Remember they're also likely to sell Jorginho and Ghoulam is heavily linked with a move away. With ADL running things and with Ancelotti just appointed there's no chance they rip their whole team apart. Hell, if we managed 2 of the 4 mentioned I'd be delighted with that. Zielinski and Hysaj are my picks. Koulibaly is a pipe dream and probably impossible.
  12. In what few Newcastle matches I actually watched he did look pretty good but didn't really stand out as a player who should definitely be playing for a top club. Didn't strike me as a Kante or Mahrez type who you looked at for Leicester and said "yep, he could play for anyone."
  13. You just know that Monday will be yet another time when "discussions" will start with Sarri, we'll hear from sources that something else will happen by Friday, then Friday will come around and it'll be something will happen the following Monday. Then we'll appoint Blanc out of nowhere and all be disappointed. 😂
  14. Just think Conte is a terrible fit for this current Real Madrid side so if/when he goes it's probably going to be him taking a year off and us paying him a fortune while he does so. All those crazy ego's, players who have won everything there is to win, who are used to managers like Zidane or Carlo who are easy going dudes who just let the team go out express themselves. Conte is a workaholic maniac who loves to train his players into the ground and is huge on film study and prep. I just can't picture the likes of Ronaldo and all the rest of those superstars being good with the screaming and having everything super structured. At both Juventus and here he took over clubs at low points and transformed them into winners. He's a builder. Going to a side already at the pinnacle doesn't seem like his style.
  15. Each of their last 4 signings are instant, massive upgrades that will likely take them up a level. They're also addressing arguably their biggest weakness which was squad depth. Not having to use average players like Henderson, Milner, Lallana, Wijnaldum, and Can as every game, first choice players is huge. Now those guys can be used in less imprortant fixtures. They're doing what we should've done after our last two title wins. Building from a position of strength.
  16. Three great signings for Liverpool already who will immedietly improve them. Chelsea haven't even got out of bed yet. Fucking ridiculous that Liverpool can now regularly drop £50m or more on players whilst we desperately have to adhere to imaginary FFP rules. Have we now been passed up by not just the Manchester clubs but Liverpool as well? A club that we've been laughing at for the last decade?
  17. On one hand, he's a great striker. Great goals to games ratio, excellent technically, can hold the ball as well as carry it, can bring his teammates into play. Despite his chunky appearence he's actually quite mobile and nimble. Certainly an upgrade on Morata. On the other hand, he's soon to be 31, will surely cost an absolute fortune, and doesn't appear to be in great physical shape now in his prime so how will he be in a few years? I definitely wouldn't say no to him because he'll score loads I think, but I'd much rather have Icardi.
  18. I keep waking up each morning recently checking Twitter and expecting (hoping, more like) to see something from the club. *sigh* Thank God the World Cup is almost here or I'd go insane.
  19. I just can't shake the fact that if he's a quality coach he wouldn't have been out of work for so long. You would think his door would have been beaten down after he let PSG. I don't know. Maybe he just refused everything until a top club came calling. I also don't remember people being surprised or up in arms when he was sacked which tells me he maxed out his effectiveness.
  20. It's not just about the quality (or perceived lack thereof) of the players our rivals have bought, it's the fact that their managers are getting the exact players they want and are getting them in early. Mourinho has personally asked for two Portuguese speaking players that I'm sure he knows well. Both are very highly rated. These rivals are going to have their new signings getting full preseason's and ready to hit the ground running on opening day. We don't even have a proper preseason planned do we? That's bonkers! There's still plenty of time to go, but our recent history in the market has shown a pattern that so far looks to be continuing. Fucking around, looking for cheap, cut price deals and missing out on top players.
  21. It's bordering on comical at this stage. I mean, I'm starting to think the club are trolling us now. United have made 2 signings already, Liverpool have made 2 signings already, Arse have made 1 signing and are on the verge of signing the Greek CB from Dortmund. They've already appointed their manager and have been hard at work bringing in targets. City have made concrete offers for Mahrez and Jorginho according to reliable sources. Meanwhile, not a peep from the club that arguably needs the most surgery. Seriously, I'm actually starting to think that behind the scenes in secret we've actually got quite a bit done (new manager already signed up, targets already convinced to join) but we're waiting and waiting for Conte to find his next job before announcing anything. It's the only explanation that makes sense. There's surely no way our club can be as incompetent as they appear to from the outside, right?
  22. If we sign this lad then playing 3 in midfield may be necessary against more powerful, big sides like United and Spuds. Playing with two tiny midfielders like Seri & Kante against the likes of Matic/Pogba/Fred & Dembele/Dier/Wanyama and we'd get bullied around the pitch. So hopefully RLC is integrated into the side seamlessly or Bakayoko improves massively.
  23. Blanc would such be such an anticlimactic hire. One you'd expect a club like Arsenal to make. It's not that he's a bad manager, it's just that he's not one that I feel can get us back to the top. He's just kind of "meh." Replacing Conte who is probably a top 5 coach in Europe with Blanc is just unambitious.
  24. Cesc can still be a dangerous weapon to bring on off the bench. Whether he'll be okay with that is the question.
