Not going to be able to watch this live. My only hope/wish is that we don't get battered and humiliated. Two really bad losses within days to start the season won't be good for the mindset and confidence of the squad. Then we have a really tough match at the weekend. 😬

Roman should sue FIFA for damages. What kind of corrupt bullshit is this!?
-
You keep Pedro in the final throw and he's great. Very dangerous anywhere around the opponents penalty area. The problem is everywhere else. He tries to do way too much at times. Tries to dribble his way out of trouble too much, tries to jink and juke too much, and he often gives away silly free kicks in our half by being too eager in his tackles. He's a good weapon to have in our squad but he's got some definite trade offs.

Zouma is who Zouma has always been since his first spell in our team a few years ago. A physical powerhouse with very poor footballing ability and someone who panics under pressure (because he's not confident in said footballing ability). Perfect for a perennial Europa League level club like Everton but not at all good enough technically for a top club like Chelsea. Ask yourself, would the likes of City or Liverpool even consider Zouma if he was available for a small fee? No chance. He'll have solid games for us this season, don't get me wrong. But he'll be a David Luiz-like liability against the top sides.
-
I love Mourinho, but he can fuck off with what he's said there. Thank fuck Alonso wasn't playing! Emerson was arguably our best player.
-
Not going to get any easier next couple of matches, really. Liverpool then a solid Leiceser side with Vardy who can (and usually does) torch us on the counter. Hopefully Kante and Rüdiger are back for those.
-
Spot on from Frank. Glad to also see this same sentiment from almost all journalists and pundits. This was a super harsh score line that really flattered United. Plenty to take away and be hopeful about.
-
Yeah, I can take getting blown up by City or Liverpool as they're loaded with world class players and have been together for years. To lose 4-0 to what was surely the weakest United side ever fielded on a PL opening weekend is what stings. But it's rare to take so many positives away from a thumping loss. We'll almost certainly be on the end of a few of those against the other big boys. But I hope that looking at today in terms of style of play and chance creation, we can do well against most of the league.
-
Kante and Rüdiger will make a big difference. Pulisic pressing and running off the ball from the start will help. Not playing a side like United every week that have some of the fastest players in the league every week will help. But we're stuck for the whole season with strikers who don't score and a couple of first teamers who are on the wane. Will be a rough, rough season. As we expected. We won't get near top 4, again as expected.
-
Thing is, I thought Jorginho was great for much of that match, too. There will likely be a lot of rotation in midfield this season.
-
Azpi is finished at the top level. Was never great going forward but was always a rock defensively. Now he's mediocre defensively and awful going forward. We need a modern RB. Reece James in other words.
-
Utterly humiliating to be 3-0 down to THIS United side. Embarrassing. They've been woeful and are up 3-0. Just wow.
-
Totally fucking dominating AGAIN and they score completely against the run of play.
-
We win the ball back well over and over and then gift it right back to them over and over. No composure.
-
Barkley, WTF!? Given the ball away cheaply about 4 times already!
-
Pen completely killed momentum and shifted it. We can't get a touch now. FFS.
-
Zouma mistake after mistake. Gonna cost us a bunch of points this season. Fucks sake. Dominating the match and then this.
-
Please let us get the good Kovacic today and not the one who looks clueless defensively at times. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 He needs to channel his inner Kante or their pace will kill us on the counter.
-
Gotta say, we really need those injured players back because our bench looks stunningly poor without them.
-
Not a lot of width or pace in our attack. Not sure I would've started Mason out wide but Lamps knows better than I. Frank really doesn't fancy Michy, does he?
-
Emery taking after Wenger with these weird ass starting XI's? Why put out essentially a B team for the first game of the season?
-
I'm goodness othe how most of the XI is likely to look, but the only one I worry about is Tammy. Just don't think he's quite ready for this stage yet. Can see us looking pretty good in our build up until that final action where Tammy will be marked by Maguire. As has been mentioned, United really aren't that scary. Not compared to the attacks of City/Liverpool/Arse/Spuds, anyway. Rashford and Martial have great pace but they're super inconsistent just like our attacking players.
-
Villa defend well all game and then that girly looking twat Grealish chokes at the last moment to gift Spuds all3 points. Typical.
-
Spuds not looking near top form yet. Not as crisp and tidy as they normally are. Hopefully I don't jinx it, but Lamella is such a nothing player. Just bang average. Don't get why Poch persists with him.
-
So, will Spuds make it 3/3 from title contenders demolishing poor opposition? Lets see how naively Villa set up here.
