That we spent 35m on Drinkwater is likely why we wouldn't do the same for Paredes. We got burned badly by wasting so much on a squad player. Club clearly don't want to do so again. I don't agree with that because I think Paredes is miles better,minutes that is surely the club's thinking.

Think this will be ou first true look at Higuain. Unlike Wednesday, Bournemouth will actually try to play football and not stack their whole team in their own half. He should have space here and they have a terrible defensive record. Obviously a must win game. I pray that Emerson gets the nod ahead of Alonso and I hope Kovacic is preferred to Barkley. Maybe even RLC in that attacking midfield spot to give us pace and dynamism. I really don't want to see Alonso and Barkley force us to play ponderous and excruciatingly slowly like we did for much of today's game. We need to play fast and direct against them.

Ampadu is soooo clearly not fit for that role we saw today. Was very poor when trying to spray it around and also left pass after pass short when trying to play in tight areas. I'll forgive him since he's so young and barely plays, but I think his future may be in defense rather than midfield.

Assuming he isn't sold by then, it would be lovely to see Hazard and CHO flanking Higuain against Bournemouth. Though with Willian scoring again today I doubt Sarri will leave him out in a PL match.

Been a common theme throughout the season and it has happened about 3 times already today: Willian cutting in from the left and playing a terrible, slow pass across the middle of the pitch that gets intercepted and launches a counter attack for the opposition.

They can't live with CHO. If his end product was betterment today we'd be out of sight. Higuain with great movement and excellent first touch but they have their entire team parked around their penalty area. As usual, we struggle to break it down.

Emerson 🔥🔥🔥 So much more balanced and dangerous than having Alonso there. Those constant overlaps with Hazard and actual dangerous crosses. Imagine Higuain on the end of those instead of Giroud who is a bit of a bottler.

A thing I always like seeing with our new signings is how they form friendships with our other players who speak their languages. Should be easy for Gonzalo to settle in with all the other Spanish speakers we have.
