Saw the good and the bad from both Zouma and Tomori. They both win everything that comes near them in the air bit are nervy a lot of the time with the bal at their feet. They have to learn when the time is right to play with it. When teams press like Southampton did today, just boot it or play it safe. I clench and wince every time one of them gets the ball played back to them and there's a player pressing them. Tomori almost got caught a few times today in that way.

Shows how utterly calamitous our defending is when being 3-1 up against Southampton is FAR from settled. Conceding to brilliance or something is one thing. Supplying gifts to opponents on a plate repeatedly is ridiculous. We allowed their RB (not their striker, not their winger. The RIGHT BACK) waltz through SIX of our players to set up their goal. And that's not the first time this season that something like that has happened. Our defending hasn't improved at all so far this season! Thank fuck we good going forward or we'd be in serious trouble.

Conversely, lose this and United will probably go back ahead of us. And they're a club who is pretty much in full blown crisis with loads of their fans calling for the manager to step down.

Hmm. I like the attacking 4 but don't like the back 4. Particularly Alonso in a back 4 away from home against a side desperate for a win. I'd also generally prefer we start with Kova in a midfield 3 away from home so we have better control there. Optimistic we'll get a result here but think we'll make hard work of it.

I have absolutely no idea how Palace are on 14 points. They have almost zero quality other than Zaha and they have shocking players all over the pitch. They also play pretty awful football. Of course it won't last for them, but it's really strange to see them up there on this early table.

Dumb penalty he gave away aside, I've been watching Declan Rice quite closely a few times this season and he's an excellent young player. I certainly think we should consider bringing him back to Chelsea. He's the perfect DM to play at the base of our midfield together with Jorginho and Kante. Would shore up that area and stop us getting shredded with one ball. And he's not just a tackler, either. Very decent on the ball and can get around the pitch. Wonder how much he'd cost? He's a hugely important player to them but surely he'd jump at the chance to come back and play with his mates and Lamps who probably a hero of his.

Honestly, I don't give a toss if Liverpool win the league. They probably deserve it since they've been so ridiculous these last 12 months. If it isn't us any given season, as long as it's not another London club i'm not bothered. I don't have a burning hatred for Liverpool like I do for Spuds and especially Arse. What will be unbearable about them winning it, however, will be the media love-in. It'll reach Man United levels of wank off.

Sissoko is such an enigma of a player. He has had matches here and there over the past year where he is unplayable and others like today where he looks like a Bakayoko tier donkey.

You can tell by the way that Spuds have totally abandoned their best attribute (their monster high press) that they're just not the same side. They've also got almost zero quality from wide areas. Average fullbacks and no natural wingers.

Spuds having essentially the exact same squad for what seems like ages looks to finally be catching up to them. They look stale. Still capable of bursts of brilliance but have been all over the place so far this season. I'd love to see Poch leave them but he'd then surely go to United and make them a problem again.

He's been hugely promising and a big surprise to me. Not only is he regularly outmuscling opponents defense idly in 1v1 situations, but he's also extremely good at carrying the ball forward. Add in his fantastic recovery pace and we have the makings of a top class CB. I hope at some point we see a back 3 with all of Rüdiger, Zouma, and Tomori in it. Reece, and Emerson as wing backs. The athleticism and pace would be unreal.

Not a beautiful performance but deserved 3 points. Thank god Kepa was extremely sharp with his starting position on several instances.

Don't get me wrong, zonal marking is shit and doesn't work at the top level. But how the FUCK do teams repeatedly find the exact spot to punish us every bloody game seemingly!? Like, they pick the one area between our CB's every godamned time! Our set piece and transition defending remains our Achilles heel that we just can't shore up for some reason.

£58m and can't even get a look in. I was one of his biggest sceptics when we first bought him but certainly expected him to be given every possible opportunity to develop and get loads of games. That he can't even get a chance is hugely worrying. I mean, players who are coming off of long injuries are being considered ahead of him! What must he be doing wrong in training?

If Pulisic doesn't start this one I'm going to seriously worry about him. I think he'll start to seriously worry about himself honestly. Hes an extremely dangerous weapon that we are going to need as the season goes on. Getting his confidence up on a big European night in a must win game would be huge for him.
