  1. Bet you Thiago Silva ends up back together with his best buddy Luiz at Arse. They're always crying for a CB.
  2. Roman trying to build a Man City-like squad here where on any given match day we have 4-5 amazing players on the bench to rotate in? 😂 Unless some club takes Barkley off our hands I can't imagine we'd be after ANOTHER hugely expensive attacker before addressing the defense.
  3. Auba would've been a fantastic short term option. But that was before we knew Werner could be had. Offers everything Auba does but is 6 years younger and will get better. Aubameyang is super screwed if he's unhappy at Arse right now. No top club is going to meet their asking price during the pandemic when he's nearly 31.
  4. Yeah, Kepa is absolutely unmovable right now. Unless the club are so determined to move on from him that they accept a mega loss of like £40m. And I don't see that happening. Kepa will be given at least another season to earn the spot.
  5. Bingo. Havertz plays in the same area of the pitch as Mount, RLC, and Barkley. There is literally zero room for another attacking midfielder at the moment. Especially not a €100m one. I think Chilwell will be our last target. Unless someone comes in for Zouma I doubt we'll be after another CB either.
  6. I wouldn't say he's poor defensively, just average. He's the typical modern fullback. Very good going forward, mediocre defensively. Look at TAA at Liverpool. He can absolutely be gotten at defensively by quality attackers. Marcelo the same. Kyle Walker the same. There are very few who are world class at both.
  7. Yeah, I can understand being against us spending Harry Maguire money on Chilwell (I am, too!) but I don't get people slating his actual quality. His form had gone off the boil which also coincided with the whole Leicester team going off the boil. But there's a reason he's the most sought after fullback for both Lamps and Pep. He's got every attribute to become a world class fullback. If Liverpool didn't have Roberston already I'm sure they'd be sniffing around, too. He'd lock our fullback pairing in for the next handful of years at least.
  8. Jorginho still gets so little respect, I see. 😏 No way I'd sell him unless we get someone on his level to replace him. And I don't see anyone out there who's available.
  9. Is he on crack? RB Leipzig a bigger club than Chelsea?
  10. One thing that stands out in addition to his pace when you watch all of his goals on YouTube is how comfortable he is on his weaker left foot. You can tell he has worked extremely hard on shooting with that foot. Some players are useless with their weaker foot and shy away from using it even when in scoring positions. But nope, Werner is lethal with his.
  11. He'd be starting life on the bench at Liverpool most likely, true. But I think he'd start quite often at City as a Sané replacement.
  12. Going to be pretty damned nice having Pulisic and RLC back. Couple of great weapons in our push for top 4. Billy is essentially a new signing if he can pick up where he left off before the stoppage.
  13. The likes of Ornstein, Matt Law, and Honigstein are as reliable as it gets. Ornstein on his podcast yesterday explained how the transfer went down in such intricate detail that it was as if he was personally in the room when it happened. Don't think there's any need to worry now.
  14. Few players missing from that pic. Don't see Kante, CHO, Giroud, or Billy G. I think that's Pulisic on the left wearing a #10 shirt but I can't be positive. Hope those aren't injuries.
  15. Like I said yesterday, all those people around the internet saying "if he's so good then why does Chelsea get a free run at him?" were stupid. All of the top teams in the PL were interested. It's just that we are in an extremely unique position to lure him.
  16. I predict a Mourinho press conference within 1-2 months of the next season where he says "what can I do when Chelsea/City/United spend hundreds of millions and I must sign free transfers?" If they don't spend big on quality players I think it'll be yet another season where they walk on eggshells praying that neither of Kane or Son get injured. And Kane is always injured.
  17. It really is bananas how every PL based English player has such a huge premium on their valuation. If Chilwell were from a random Eastern European country or a South American or something he'd literally cost half the money. Can't blame the club's of course. Leicester are likely to get picked apart piece by piece soon and should obviously demand massive fees. Chilwell, Maddison, Ndidi, their RB. Big boys are gonna come sniffing soon. I really think Chilwell would be perfect for us but we'd be insane to pay Maguire money.
  18. Speaking of Jose, I'm expecting fireworks this summer from him. He's going to watch his old club Chelsea signing Werner, Ziyech, Chilwell, etc, he's going to watch his old club United probably sign Sancho. City will undoubtedly splash the cash. Meanwhile Levy will probably be tighter than he already was in the best of times pre-COVID. Mou is going to be bargain bin shopping! 😂😂😂
  19. I listened to this earlier this morning. Funny how a German football expert like Rafa Honigstein says Werner is a top, top player and an absolute steal of a buy at €50m, yet we have internet noobs all over the place saying "meh, he's nothing special." 😂 We just got ultra lucky that the virus is fucking up lots of clubs AND almost every other top club is pretty set at his position. If this was a normal summer Werner would be a £80-100m player that everyone would be vying for.
  20. Very curious what happens with Willian. Can 100% see José wooing him and convincing him to go there which would be annoying. Still wouldn't rule out us extending him for another 2 years or something.
  21. The English tax was always going to be in play with Chilwell and tbf Leicester would have zero reason to lower that valuation in normal times. But I suspect he'll be much cheaper than £80m if he goes due to financial issues stemming from the virus. I think they'd be lucky to get £40m if he really pushes to go.
  22. Sancho makes zero sense now. Spending £120m on a wide player with Pulisic, Werner, Ziyech, and CHO just doesn't seem to fit what we're doing at all. Havertz would make sense only if we sold 1, maybe even 2 midfielders. Which I can't see.
  23. I think people who can't envision where/how Werner can fit in our team with our formation should picture how Spuds use Kane and Son. Werner can be our Son. He's not a winger and he's not a #9 but can play anywhere across the forward areas and in emergency situations he can fill in for Harry Kane up top. Werner can do the same thing. Great pace like Son, even better goal scoring threat. I can't really imagine that Lamps is thinking about playing one of Tammy or Werner like he does with Tammy or Giroud. I think they'll almost always be on the pitch together.
  24. Reading around, a lot of opposition fans are in "he's not that good anyways" mode. I love seeing that. They'd be over the moon to have him at their club. Theres a reason Klopp (arguably the world's current best manager) really wanted him. He is that good and could play for any top team.
  25. Unless a midfielder is sold we can forget Havertz. And Frank seems to rate everyone on our books in those positions including Barkley. We have RLC coming back. Unless we sell Jorginho to Juve and completely switch up how we set up our midfield (like Kante moving back to the base of midfield) there's simply no room. Coutinho on loan makes more sense than spending €100m.
