A lot of the time when these mid to low table sides buy a bunch of new players they fall flat on their faces. Carlo is a great manager so if anyone can raise Everton's level it's him. They'll probably be a tough match for all of the big boys if they raise their game for those occasions. Can see a little pack of several midtable clubs forming that on their day can be awesome. Like Wolves or Sheff United last season. Everton could be like those sides if these signings click with the decent players they already had.

We were never going to sell Kante under any circumstances I don't think. It is weird how we've hear nothing about Jorginho's situation since Sarri was sacked. Surely he'd be of interest to many clubs but I guess nobody can afford him in this climate. He's too good a player to be back riding our bench.

Yeah, seeing Kepa coming out to claim an aerial ball and flapping badly for another season would suck. I don't doubt that a fresh start in a new season can see him regain his shot stopping form that we saw under Sarri, but you can't fix being short and physically soft. Every team we play will gameplan specifically around winning as many free kicks and corners as possible to exploit Kepa's softness.

Yeah, I can see all of the big sides struggling early due to lack of prep with their best players. All of us will have huge numbers of players away with their national teams while small clubs are working in training with most everyone available. Combine that with all the new signings and it may take weeks or a month before we see Chelsea/City/Liverpoll/United etc playing their best football. Dont be shocked if Brighton look sharper than us in the first match. Players like Havertz and Silva may only get a couple of training sessions in.
