The main thing he's got that Reece doesn't is that hyper-aggressive mentality. Lamptey wants to take his man on every time he gets the ball and is always looking to sprint down the channels. Reece is more easy going and cautious. Think the only question that has to be answered for Lamptey is how well he holds up physically over a long season due to his tiny size. Once opponents figure out how good he is they'll start targeting him. We'll see if he can handle that. Lightning pace + confident, aggressive attitude is a deadly combo, though.

He's ridiculously quick! Christ! Bet you he ends up at City next summer.
-
I really like this, too. But unfortunately I think we'll see Kai pushed out wide again so that Mount can be in the team. Frank will want his workrate I feel. And I just don't see Havertz having the impact we hope he does out wide until he's completely settled.
-
God help us all if Alonso starts in a back 4 against Salah.
-
Surely announced first thing Monday morning then.
-
Fulham may genuinely finish with a record low number of points this season. They're embarrassingly poor. Imagine how much worse they'll look once the fixtures start piling up as well.
-
I rate him too, but if you would've asked me what I figured he'd go for I'd have said ~£25m. If someone had bought him for that earlier this summer I would think to myself "yeah, that price sounds about right."
-
That's a fuck load of money for Jota, wow. For a squad player. He wasn't even one of Wolves' best 5 players!
-
Too late to go for Onana? 😆
-
Salah, Mané, Robertson, TAA. All bought in for reasonable or no fees and have become world class under him. Even bang average players like Henderson and Milner have gone up a level under him. They've bought some duds, yes, but still. Odds on players improving considerably there are sadly pretty damned high.
-
I know Jota has been solid for Wolves but he has never really caught my eye as the type that was destined for a top club or who would become a top player. Considered him good but not great. There are about 3-4 other Wolves players that I'd have before him. But knowing Klopp he'll probably mould him into a world beater like Mané & Salah. 😒

Unlike other deals we've done like Havertz or Chilwell that were super complicated, Mendy seems like he'd be the most straightforward one to complete and yet we get conflicting reports daily. There's probably some truth in the reporting that Rennes know we're utterly desperate and are playing hardball with the price. We'll probably end up having to pay closer to 30m than the 20m that was initially reported. Just hope he's in goal for the next match after Liverpool so he can quickly get acclimated to the team and league.
-
For me this match is a free hit. Super early in the season, 5 or so players that would be in our best XI will be missing, and basically a whole new attack who haven't worked together before. We get a point or an unlikely 3 points, great. If we lose it's not deflating at all or a preview of what's to come. We are nowhere near the side now that we will be down the line when the real hectic mayhem starts. All I want to see this weekend is improvement. And not to get embarrassed by Liverpool.
-
Hopefully Frank doesn't tell us more players are injured and kill our excitement in his presser today... We were already going to find it difficult with the same team that played Brighton.
-
We need Real Madrid or Barca to come in for Salah or Mané next summer 😂
-
Thiago is an annoyingly fantastic signing for Liverpool and one who makes them easily the heavy title favorite. If they weren't already. Can see them performing similarly to last season where they only lose a few times the whole year assuming they stay fit. He adds a new dimension to their team and allows them to play in a different way. I'm just glad he went to a team that's already dominant rather than United who he would've taken up several levels.
-
Finally, the elusive beast has been spotted! Could see Frank waiting one more week to throw him in. May feel tossing him in against that front 3 having only trained a couple of times just a bit too soon.
-
Why are we having a press conference with 1 random player? Never seen that before.
-
Press conference or just an interview with Chelsea TV?
-
He said something like "we hope it's just a couple of weeks" but he wasn't sure. All we know is that he had a "slight twist" to his knee. It's gotta be something more severe than that if it's all such a mystery.
-
Still very weird that there's been zero footage of Thiago Silva training yet. Equally as weird how we haven't heard via well connected Chelsea sources about the severity or even what the injury actually is with Ziyech. I'd be super excited and even fairly confident about winning this if we had those 2 fit.
-
Christ, this isn't half dragging on. Looks like there's no chance he'll be here in time to play at the weekend.
-
Dele is barely good enough to start for Spuds (and probably wouldn't if Lo Celso was fit) so it's crazy if Real Madrid wants him. He's absolutely bang average. He's a midtable caliber player.
-
Bale's highly athletic, explosive playing style means he's always going to get injured. He'd be a decent punt for Spuds but I can't see him reigniting his form from years ago. I'm sure he'll score a few awesome free kicks that make the British press soil their trousers, though.
-
From linked with Chelsea, to United, only to end up at Spuds. Poor guy. Such small club mentality for Spuds to agree to a buy-back clause. United were right to say fuck that and walk away. You're basically developing another club's player for them and if he's a big hit at Spuds they can just buy him back and fuck you over. Not that Mourunho cares. He'll be gone in a year or two.
