Best defensive performance in as long as I can remember and best Jorginho performance in as long as I can remember. He totally bossed it today. Chilly was amazing. His touch and ball carrying is totally next level to Alonso. Partnership of Silva & Zouma is easily the best we have. Perfect compliments to each other. Palace looked good in both their previous PL matches and we literally didn't give them a sniff. Zaha and Eze were invisible.

Don't know what game people are watching to say Havertz was poor. Set up several of our best moments. Tammy is having one of those matches where he looks like a donkey. Nothing going right.

Comfortable, solid half from us. We just moved it around too slowly overall. We saw numerous flashes of quality when we popped it around quickly and got Havertz on the ball. Need more Kai and CHO on the ball and less Kante & Azpi.

Kante has given the ball away about 5 times so far...

Palace's only strategy so far is trying to fall down with any little contact and trying to win free kicks.

Yeah, it's pretty fucked up. If Rüdiger could find his form again I still think he'd be our best CB. I'd rather see him in the XI a million times before AC.

I like this team other than possibly the midfield pairing. You know Palace are super dangerous on the counter and any time Jorginho plays against that sort of team it's a danger.

Would be so fucking dumb if we allow him to go to Spuds. People here can hate him all they want but he improves Mourinho's side. And they already look to be stronger than last season and should challenge us for a top 4 spot. So why help them? And why are we the only big team in England who allow their players to go to rivals on a regular basis? If we went in for Dele Ali for instance (one of their out of favor players like Rüdiger) do you think Levy would even answer the phone? No chance.

If he goes and we're forced to watch long periods of Mount or RLC playing out wide when CP & Ziyech are injured I'm gonna freak out. My body can't take it.

I think these rumors are total bs. Selling a player that will likely be hugely important this season makes zero sense. Especially because we're seeing right now how much we need depth at that position. It would be pure negligence to sell/loan CHO unless Benrahma is inbound.

Think it's a pretty safe bet that our incoming business is done. Last few days will be all about outgoing loans and trimming the squad down. Just have to pray that Frank can settle on a CB and midfield partnership ASAP. Because we're playing out this season with what we've got now. No new DM is incoming, sadly.

WH journalists I've seen on Twitter make it sound like the club is absolutely adamant that Rice won't leave. Just think we've left it far too late. If we had been tapping him up and negotiating several weeks ago it could've been possible. If RLC follows Barkley out on loan perhaps we'll look elsewhere for another midfielder. Or maybe we bring nobody at all and just hope Billy is ready when he's healthy to play big time minutes.

I will say, it's refreshing to see a keeper in our net who is bloody massive. Excited to see how he looks when he's totally settled, in sync with the defense, and is used to how opposing teams attack corners and set plays. Should be considerably less nerve wracking for us to watch our keeper now I hope.

Outta nowhere, wtf?! If he goes out and Ruben doesnt that's pretty fucked up, tbh. As much as we all criticize Ross as not being starting XI quality for us, he was still a really good rotational player. Really good move for him, though. Should unquestionably start every match there.

Couldn't care less about the League Cup but I am definitely concerned about our play. I know it's early, I know there was no preseason, I know players are getting used to each other, and I know we're still missing a few, but the style of play reminds me a lot of the stale Chelsea sides of recent years. We look like a side of individuals rather than a cohesive unit. And we still play so laboriously. There's no crispness to our play. It's slow and sloppy. Disjointed between the midfield and attack. Even sides with nowhere near our quality like Leeds, Wolves, Leicester etc look more fluid and confident than we do. That's gotta be on the manager. Need to see major improvement in the next couple of matches or the talk has to ratchet up about whether Frank is qualified for a job this big.

Absolutely embarrassing second half effort. We looked completely clueless after bossing the first half. And for the second match in a row one of our fullbacks fucks up on the far post and we concede a terrible goal.

Game played entirely at walking pace which plays right into the hands of our two midfielders but makes this a boring watch.

Maybe if this was an important PL game. Don't think anyone's going to care one way or the other about the damned Carabao Cup. I just want to finally see Werner get in the goals.

Thought for sure Thiago would've played here. Needs as many minutes as he can get to sharpen up. He's not even in the squad. In fact, we have no CB on the bench at all strangely.

Skriniar is not a CB for us. Too wild and undisciplined. Brozovic is interesting because he offers similar things to Kante but is better with the ball. But this rumor is dumb because we're already getting rid of a CB since we have too many. No way would we sign another.

Think we'll play a very strong team. Maybe have Giroud up top instead of Tammy and Barkley instead of Mount.
