  1. Could be worse for us. United have bid for Marko Arnautovic 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  2. Once he spoke with Pep and City’s hierarchy gave the green light there’s no way he was ever going to come here. We got lucky that the City board said no to going big on Cucurella despite Pep wanting him. Haaland was always going to go to a well oiled machine of a side as his post Dortmund move. Not a side in transition like us. If it wasn’t City it would have been Bayern.
  3. I don’t think we can afford to take a gamble on a basically unknown young striker from a small league. Not for big money. We either need to wait for someone top class to become available which is super risky given who we have currently or we sign someone cheap now either as a stopgap for a year or in hopes that they can be good enough to be the long term solution.
  4. I mean, do you think we can survive with only Havertz and Broja?
  5. I don’t fancy either of them. But I’m struggling to see any alternatives.
  6. I think our new forward will be one of the Barca strikers. They need wages off their books and will let one of Auba or Memphis go.
  7. Ronaldo has dragged them through the mud all summer long but now they’ll treat him like a hero when he comes on here.
  8. He’s been terrible so far. And he looks even smaller than I imagined. He reminds me of that dwarf Torreira that Arse had in midfield a couple of years ago. 🤣
  9. Potter has to be under consideration if (God forbid) Tuchel comes under fire over the next couple of years. Excellent coach.
  10. £85m bid + £450k a week for De Jong incoming after this match from United. They’ll be embarrassed even if they come back and win this. McTominay and Fred are Championship standard players.
  11. UNITED 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Brighton are playing them off the park here! On their home pitch! Potter really is an unbelievable coach. Consider the players he’s had to sell in the last 2 summers and they still look this solid.
  12. No deal for Fofana is imminent then if he’s starting for Leicester. Like Alonso yesterday, you wouldn’t want a player getting injured if a move is on the brink. Especially not an £80m one. Hope we really push this coming week to have him in for the Spuds game.
  13. Oh, wow. Wonder what kind of fee we’re getting for him. Really sad about how it turned out for Timo. He’s a humble, quiet guy who always tried his best and genuinely wanted to make an impact. I really thought he’d be a major hit for us when he first signed. If he’s going and CHO is as well, surely we have a forward of some sort already lined up? The Ziyech links totally dried up but he could still go too.
  14. We’re getting all these super high earners and unwanted players off our books but only on loan. Lukaku, Werner, Kepa, CHO. Is this going to bite us in the ass next summer when they all return and the clubs loaning them decide against taking up any buy options they have?
  15. Think it’s mostly the system not suiting him at all. But he definitely also seems like such a timid guy on the pitch. Very passive.
  16. Napoli are apparently looking at Keylor Navas while in talks with PSG. That would completely screw Kepa over and I imagine we were planning for his wages to be off our books for the season…
  17. He was reportedly also a United target as a De Jong alternative along with Fabian Ruiz who is now about to move to PSG. Their options are disappearing rapidly so I expect them to get totally desperate now and offer literally whatever sort of wages it takes to get him.
  18. He’d be the picture perfect Jorginho replacement. But I still think we wait until next summer. Fofana is going to take mega money and after that I think we’re done. Maybe a cheap striker.
  19. We appear to be in the same sort of position in regards to De Jong as United are. We’re interested just like they are but unless De Jong says he wants to leave it’s a moot point. And he’s reportedly desperate to stay. Would be nice if we’re trying to convince him, though, in case he does decide to go.
  20. Confident that we’ll play much better for this considering it’s Spuds and it’s our home opener. After last seasons dreadful home form we need to establish Fortress Stamford Bridge again like years past. Hope either Kova or Gallagher start next to Kante for this rather than J5. We’ll need legs and athleticism.
  21. It was true all preseason long and it happened once again today. Our wingbacks (and Reece in particular) didn’t really get forward and contribute to the attack at all. The main feature of our play all season last year. What’s the deal? Anyways, some positives and some worrying signs. The 3 points is all that matters but there are several issues that aren’t easy fixes. Goal scoring at a reliable clip is going to be a huge problem again. Sterling was the only attacker who looked good today. Mount and Havertz were totally anonymous. Not helped by Kante and Jorgi being poor on the ball today. On the plus side, Koulibaly looked good if a little rusty with his passing at times. Cucu instantly looked quicker and more precise on the ball than Chilly.
  22. So many bloody long stops, ffs. I just want this damn bogey match to be over!
  23. Starting to worry about Kai as our #1 striker option. Love him as a player and person but he just isn’t intense and aggressive enough. He doesn’t seem desperate to score and get shots away. With Sterling looking this sharp and fantastic already, if we could add an alternative to Kai to the squad we’d be so much better.
  24. Jorginho is totally out of place in a match like this. Offers ZERO going forward and because we have possession all the time, when we get quickly turned of]ver the opponent breezes by him. Kova should’ve started.
  25. Our midfield is so unbelievably slow and uncreative on the ball. Painful to watch.
