  1. So this window well and truly may be the only opportunity for us to sign Enzo for huge money and take advantage of the amortization rules. Even more incentive for us to push like crazy to seal it. Getting him in on a 7-8 year contract and spreading the cost out can only happen this month.
  2. Terrible squad number for an attacking winger 😬😬😬
  3. This is pathetic 🤣🤣🤣 A smart business group finds a clever way of using the established rules to their advantage, a bunch of rival clubs around Europe who weren’t savvy enough to think of it themselves complain to UEFA that Chelsea are ruining everything, and now UEFA is changing the rules.
  4. Seriously, where would Gordon even play? Even if we sold Pulisic and Ziyech we’d still have Sterling, Mudryk, Madueke, and CHO on our books. I’d rather bring CHO back than spend silly money on Gordon. Even the idea that he could be turned into a wingback makes no sense as we’re after Gusto who is a natural at the position and is way better than Gordon.
  5. Says that we’re still interested in Anthony Gordon and also now Onana. Perhaps try to take advantage of Everton’s financial and on pitch turmoil.
  6. Yeah, Onana at least makes some sense as he’s the type of player we need. Don’t think he’s nearly Chelsea quality, though. The Gordon ship should have LONG since sailed. It would’ve been a poor signing (that I actually reluctantly thought would be decent at the time) in the summer but now makes less than zero sense. We’ve just signed two vastly superior wingers and I wouldn’t even have him over any of the underperforming ones we already had. Hopefully we don’t panic at the deadline and sign some average jokers who aren’t anywhere near the required standard.
  7. Threw up in my mouth a bit reading Matt Law’s latest tweet. I won’t even post it because it’s cursed. 🤢🤢🤢 I’d rather ride the season out with our current lot than sign the two he mentions.
  8. It’ll be Caicedo for silly money just before the deadline is my guess. Then we try our chances in the summer for Enzo when Benfica will be more amenable. Trouble is several other massive clubs will be chasing him then and will have CL football to offer. If City goes in for him for example I don’t think we have a prayer. He would perfectly replace Gündogan who is rumored to be leaving. Even United may be able to gazump us if they want him by offering CL football and likely much higher wages than we’d propose. He and Casemiro would be arguably the best midfield pairing in the world. If we’re serious about Enzo it’s likely now or never.
  9. As I said the other day, keep Havertz for at least another season. Let’s see how he looks in a completely new attack and (hopefully) new midfield. Having a couple of super aggressive, super direct wingers on either side of him and perhaps a CM who can actually pick out a pass could unlock the best in him.
  10. Unless I see a picture of Enzo holding up a Chelsea shirt I can’t even muster any excitement about us potentially going in for him again. Even the very reliable and supposedly trustworthy Portuguese reporters and outlets made it sound like a 100% done deal last time. So why would we believe any of them now?
  11. Unless we kiss Benfica’s ass and beg for forgiveness, why would they even come to the table again? If, and that’s a big IF they agree to come to the table I wonder if they’d work with us on the price a bit. Maybe offer €90m as an initial payment with add ons eventually reaching the full €100m+ That’s still an incredible deal for someone they just recently bought for peanuts.
  12. Gusto would be a fantastic signing. Get him and we have both fullback spots set for years and years. We’d be able to rotate those positions and survive injuries with very little, if any drop off. Getting him in in January would also be hugely beneficial to us. As with the rest of the Jan signings he’ll get half a season to get settled with no real pressure on him due to the position we’re in. And most importantly he would ensure that we don’t have to rush Reece back in. Really hope it gets done. Much smarter than paying huge money for Dumfries.
  13. Enzo has now fully resettled back into Benfica after having his head turned and has been putting in top performances. Us going back in and pissing Benfica off even more sounds highly, highly unlikely this window. Even convincing Enzo himself may not be possible now after we essentially pulled the rug out from under him last time and made him look like an asshole. He himself may be just as angry with us as his club are.
  14. Tbf, even huge swathes of their own supporters thought he was in over his head and he did indeed look clueless early on. Nobody, even the most hardcore Gooner’s, could’ve foreseen them taking a leap from bang average to title favorites within the span of a few months.
  15. Yeah, still may not be a walk in the park for them. Lots of teams (including us I hope) will want to play spoiler in their title run. Maybe they’ll also join us and Liverpool in having a couple of key injuries.
  16. United really don’t look all that impressive. They’re pretty decent all over the pitch but just have Rashford in red hot form. They aren’t a great watch.
  17. He may score the odd banger from outside the box but other than that Antony has been a bust so far. Even United fans have been complaining a lot about him. So that’s both of their hugely expensive and hyped wingers that have been big disappointments with Sancho also nowhere to be seen.
  18. Nketiah another one. In fact, both of these sides have a bunch of players who were getting clowned on just a few months ago for being bang average. Shows how quickly things can turn around for us next season.
  19. It’s actually insane how Rashford has gone from despised by United fans, them wanting him gone even if they had to give him away, all of them calling him Trashford and now he’s almost unplayable and scoring like a world class player.
  20. Of the midfielders we’ve been linked with this window, the one that looks most similar to Enzo if we can’t get him is that French kid Kone from Gladbach. Great mix of steel and technical quality. Don’t know how much he’d cost, though.
  21. I could’ve sworn that in years past the PL just continued for clubs not in the FA Cup and those that were just had their PL matches rescheduled. But anyways, this little break should definitely be beneficial for us. Build up fitness for Reece, Chilly, Zakaria and Fofana and get time in the training pitch for Felix, Mudryk, and Noni.
  22. But why is there a 2 week break is what I’m asking?
  23. Why is there such a long break until the next match?
  24. So our incoming business is most likely done unless we have a couple of hefty sales this coming week. With James being back I bet the club are going to gamble for the remainder of the season and not bring anyone new in at RB. Midfield is where it could get interesting. I can see us improving our offer for Caicedo but not all the way up to £75m which would be madness.
  25. He has surprised me. Knew he had the physical tools to handle the switch to this league but was very unsure about how he’d adjust to the pace of the PL game. But he has looked very calm, cool, and composed in his first 2 matches. Couple of rushed or sloppy passes and a couple of times where he has misjudged his positioning but that should be ironed out in time.
