  1. I’d feel pretty good about this if we had just a couple of our missing players. Like, if we just had a fully fit Reece and Chilly I’d fancy us. But we’ll have to see either Trev or Azpi getting roasted out wide. And if Koulibaly starts he’ll be targeted by Salah on the left side.
  2. When we have Auba, Havertz, Felix, and Fofana all fit and available I don’t see how a new striker makes sense for us in January. If Fofana goes out on loan then maybe I could see someone coming in. But we’re loaded with players who can play the #9 or false 9 role right now. And then you have to consider Nkunku is coming in the summer and Broja will be back as well.
  3. Both Madueke and Mudryk have the physiques and playing styles that should be able to quickly adapt to this league. Hopefully they can both integrate quickly and be ready to start matches following this Liverpool one tomorrow. As for this kid from Lyon, he does look damned good in highlights. Looks extremely mature and refined for someone so young. Wonder what sort of money it would take to get them to sell?
  4. Where’s the Madueke announcement? We’ve seen footage of him at Cobham already and know it’s been done all day.
  5. This forum is so quick to completely write off Cucu, Sterling, and Wes Fofana. I think all 3 will be very good players for us in time and in Fofana’s case I think he’ll become a world class player. People are acting as though Cucu has been an unmitigated disaster of a player when he has really just been very mediocre just like our entire team pretty much. He hasn’t been close to a Koulibaly level embarrassment where it looks as though he’s totally out of his depth.
  6. Time for Todd to gas up the jet.
  7. @OneMoSalahis spot on, I think. Mount would be an instant Klopp favorite in the same way Milner and Henderson have been. He’s hard working, technically sound on the ball, and is versatile.
  8. Can only imagine the wages he’s asking for. He’ll surely be looking at what Sterling was just given and be asking for similar. As poor as he’s been this season I feel like the club will keep him for sure. Too much of a fan favorite and too much of a Chelsea boy for our owners to let him go to Liverpool.
  9. I agree. Don’t think Caicedo is someone who dramatically changes the trajectory of our season. Get someone in on loan (if that’s even within the rules which I’ve seen conflicting reporting about) and go all out for Enzo in the summer.
  10. Don’t think they’ll sell him now unless a crazy offer comes in from us like £75-80m.
  11. Don’t see a place for him in the current squad. We’d have to get rid of 2 forwards for another striker to make sense. We aren’t selling Kai midseason and Auba is un-movable due to already playing for 2 clubs. Even if we send Fofana out on loan we’d then have 3 strikers if Vlahovic comes in. That’s too much.
  12. A loan for a midfielder is probably the best solution if Caicedo isn’t possible this window. Prevents us from spending silly money on some scrub and let’s us assess our options come summer.
  13. I wouldn’t sell Havertz either. Him no longer carrying the burden of being our primary goal scorer will do him wonders. It’s clear now that he’s never going to be a super prolific scorer in the PL. But he’s still a great guy to have as an option in the squad. He’s a good big game player as well who can pop up with important goals. Pulisic, Ziyech, CHO, Auba can all go. Keep Kai.
  14. I just pray that these 2 new wingers can settle quickly. The deadliest attackers in the PL over recent years are those who are super athletic and extremely direct. Those that want the ball and love to run hard at opposing defenders. Salah, Mané, Diaz, Jota, Son, Saka, Martinelli. We haven’t had a truly great one since Hazard left. Pulisic when in very top form did it but those moments were unfortunately extremely rare. Timo was supposed to be the perfect direct, aggressive wide forward but well….
  15. I wonder, if we were to simply replace Jorginho with Caicedo would that be enough to dramatically elevate our team? For me personally I think we obviously improve defensively and are harder to breeze through on counters but I’m not sure that’s enough for someone who could cost £75m. If they accepted the £55m and we then went and signed another midfielder to partner him in the summer i’d say fair play. But £75m is the sort of cash you pay for a really special player.
  16. Looks like I spoke too soon? Spuds Spudsing it up.
  17. City as a team look like they’ve given up and know they won’t win the title now. Body language is shit for the whole team. All about finally winning the Champions League for them this season now.
  18. Expect Caicedo will get done eventually because we’ll get more desperate as the deadline approaches. But we’re going to massively overpay. Should’ve just bit the bullet and paid Enzo’s release clause.
  19. Imagine saying before the season started that Arsenal would walk the league. Good lord, what a nightmare.
  20. Bid for Caicedo has been made according to Ornstein. Another offer for a CM that’s far below their clubs’ valuation but at least we are indeed still trying.
  21. Honestly, if that deal was offered I’d take it. 🤣 A one year transfer ban after we’ve already completed our rebuild.
  22. Kessie and Bissouma? Really? Two midfielders who got the big moves they really wanted and then completely failed to live up to expectations? If these are names we’re actually considering then it really does feel like we’re going to make the mistake of just getting any body in that’s available. This is how we ended up with Drinkwater, Djilodildo, Aubameyang, Barkley etc. “We couldn’t get our primary target so let’s just get this guy because he’s cheap and available.” Then we’re stuck with an average (or worse) player on our books and struggle to get rid.
  23. With Reece back in training I think the dream of us bringing in some RB cover is gone. RLC showing he can fill in there as well. But knowing that Reece can instantly re-injure himself again makes it super risky to not get anyone. I’d be stunned if Brighton sell Caicedo now that Trossard is sold so midfield is likely on hold until summer. At least I hope so. No panic buy in the most important area of the team, please.
  24. Has to be. Just has to be. And since CP is currently injured its surely Ziyech?
  25. Mudryk left wing, Madueke right wing, and a striker up top. Right footed left winger with insane pace and technical ability and left footed right winger with insane pace and technical ability. This has the potential to be absolutely incredible if these new players settle. A front 3 of Mudryk, Nkunku, and Madueke? That’s potentially spicy as hell. Or rotate Nkunku with Felix or Havertz. We just now have to hope Madueke can remain fit. Looks electric on YouTube.
