Really don’t see how a straight loan benefits us in any way. Feels like we’ve just done him a favor out of kindness. Now we have to unexpectedly dip back into the market and spend even more money on another keeper.
-
We’ve been “preparing our bid” for ages now.
-
Brighton were just awarded one of the softest pens I’ve ever seen. Joao Pedro dives, cons the ref into giving it, and then somehow the VAR doesn’t overturn the decision.
-
I’m a natural worrier and am panic prone. Not just with football but with everything in life and I’m not afraid to admit it. It’s something I hate about myself 😭😭😭 So until I see Caicedo announced officially by the club I’m going to continue thinking something is wrong.
-
Melissa Reddy (one of Liverpool’s usual media mouthpieces) saying that nothing has really changed since yesterday morning. We STILL haven’t bid, STILL haven’t agreed anything with Brighton, and Liverpool are very much still in the race with no intention of backing away. Piecing what limited info we do actually have, it feels like we’re trying to work out some weird payment structure with Brighton rather than paying one huge lump sum and that’s why it’s been so long without an update. Which makes me super nervous and makes me think there’s another 180 degree twist in this saga back to Liverpool who can pay all at once.

Really just shows that he’s the best available on super short notice who is fine being a stopgap.
-
I would at least tell Madrid to wait a few more days until we have another backup keeper in already before we let Kepa go.
-
Literally just yesterday Poch said that Kepa was slightly ahead of Sanchez, too. So it would be awkward for us to immediately move Kepa on.
-
Is it not strange that we haven’t even heard of an official bid matching or exceeding Liverpool’s has gone in yet?
-
This is how you know when people 1) don’t actually know anything and 2) are just chasing Twitter attention. Why would you tweet something so definitive and then instantly say “well not actually,” more or less? Because you want attention. This is why I only follow reputable journalists and not random fans like this dude.

They’ve done excellently thus far at refreshing the squad and clearing out the rotten apples. But until they get the most important position we need over the line they don’t get full praise from me. They cannot fail to get Caicedo after all this or they end up looking like clowns.
-
So before it was Lavia being excited about coming to Chelsea and was prepared to sign a massively long contract. Now it’s Lavia hasn’t even had contact with us and still only wants Liverpool. From literally the same reporter? Seems like today will be another chaotic day. Thursday night everything looked to be in Liverpool’s favor, all day yesterday it switched 180 degrees towards us, and now I wake up and check Twitter to see reports that Lavia is still more likely for Liverpool and Caicedo to Liverpool is very much still possible.
-
Good lord, STILL no further news as I wake up?!
-
Liverpool desperately needed DM signings as much as we do. And a top quality LCB to cover for VVD. They’re 2 key injuries away from disaster.
-
Kudus instead of Olise for me. What this side needs is players who can score goals at a decent rate. Kudus can bring that whereas Olise is more of a creator.
-
Well we all went to bed last night certain that he was a Liverpool player. Tonight we will all go to bed thinking it’s highly likely he’ll be a Chelsea player. If I wake up tomorrow morning to Caicedo holding a Liverpool shirt I wouldn’t be surprised. That’s how dramatically this saga has been.
-
If it’s just him and nobody else reporting it then no.
-
I think Man United and Newcastle will both underwhelm compared to last season. Those are the two we should be targeting if we get the last couple of players we need. Especially once both are in the thick of UCL season and have to rotate and prioritize certain matches whilst we’re fresher and solely focused on the PL. Unless we pull some magic out of the hat late in this window and sign another reliable goal scorer I think City, Arse, and maybe even Liverpool are probably beyond us this season. Simply because all 3 of those sides can score goals at will from 3-5 different attackers. We should fancy ourselves against anyone else if we sign Caicedo and Lavia.
-
Yeah, if we sign Caicedo then there should really be no excuses not to finish a minimum of 4th. No European fixtures whatsoever and excellent depth at nearly every position. We’ll have a big advantage over our big club rivals.
-
I dream of waking up tomorrow morning to a Caicedo announcement.
-
The wording was that they’re “considering” pulling out. They haven’t yet. They probably only will IF we do indeed match their bid.
-
You’ve got to do two big things when you’re playing against City or they’ll systematically dismantle you. You’ve got to stop press them aggressively when they’re building up and you’ve got to deny Haaland having many sniffs of the ball. You see Ederson just standing on the ball for like 15 seconds at a time often. You’ve got to speed him up and disrupt their play from the back. And as we saw against Arse in the Community Shield, when Haaland isn’t touching the ball he’s not much of a threat. He was totally invisible that game. He may be the best pure finisher since CR7 but he doesn’t do much else in general play.
-
Man, I’m not even paying attention to the Lavia stuff at this moment. I just want confirmation that we’ve bid again for Caicedo and have been given the green light by Brighton. Lavia afterwards would be the super bonus on top. Get Caicedo sorted first!
-
He’s just fucking nuts, man. A goddamned machine of a goal scorer.
-
Can already tell Burnley are going to really struggle in the PL based on how they’re defending here. Leaving De Bruyne WIDE OPEN repeatedly to whip in those signature crosses.
