  1. My thoughts have been the same to be honest. But you can't argue with what JT and Alex have managed to do during the season together. But personally i think Ivanovic or Mancienne would compliment JT better. I think it is very likely Carvalho will leave. We have unbelievable cover in his position and his age and injury problems have caught up with him. From a CFC point of view it is time to let him move on.
  2. Chelsea TV said last night that we are in talks with Sturridge so this one looks like it IS going to happen after all. Would be a very nice first signing of the summer i think.
  3. As there are 3 clubs (at least) willing to pay this money for him, does that make him worth the money? I think if we sign Kaka it will more than likely see us return to the midfield diamond formation.
  4. Thankfully that fee includes his wages. But it is still an unbelievable offer. As far as i am concerned it is up to the club and in particular Roman how much they pay for a player. But it would be fantastic to see Kaka in a Chelsea shirt!!!
  5. I think your probably right. City are offering more than anyone else at the moment in wages. Which is going to be a huge pull for a lot of players.
  6. Aguero for me would probably be the best signing we could make, considering age and talent. But also more than likely the hardest.
  7. If it was then Malouda is more erratic than Drogs, i mean Malouda looked completely disinterested. And even the season before he wasn't at the level he is now. He has said that it has taken him this long to acclimatise to the Premiership, but like i said, can we be certain we will get the same Malouda back in training on July 1st?
  8. Really? 30 starts this season plus 12 sub appearances, means he played in more games this season than any other player, and their top goalscorer too!! And the season before he could only start playing in January and made 20 starts with 9 goals. Those stats make it look like Ancelotti thought he was pretty special from day 1! particulary for a 18/19 year old.
  9. The problem with Malouda is that yes, he has been fantastic the last few months. He really has been a completely different player. The worry is which Malouda turns up next season? Before he turned it all around he was VERY VERY poor. If the transfer window closes and Malouda is back to the incredibly poor form, then we have wasted a chance to bring a quality replacement in. I think he has probably done enough to be kept on next season now, but lets hope that our faith in him is not shattered.
  10. To be honest i am suprised to see us in for him. A out and out striker hasn't seemed to have been on the cards for us for a while now, with Didier staying (aparently) and with us having the Premierships top goalscorer, there hasn't been the need....
  11. Typical player response to a transfer roumer. That by no means says that he would not come and play for us. I wonder what sort of relationship he has with Ancelotti....
  12. Actually this could prove a stumbing block in our signings. We have an incredibly strong main 11, and it will take a very special player to break into that straight away, someone like Zhirkov would have to work his way into that starting 11 and it sounds like he may not be willing to do that. Same could be said of someone like Pato.
  13. I would be suprised to see us sign Tevez. I wouldn't mind at all if we did sign him though, it's just i can't see as it is the sort of deal we would be going in for at the moment. I would think for that sort of money we would go for a bigger and better player.....
  14. About bloody time this was put to bed i would say.
  15. Hmm, if they are only going off his comments as a basis for a new contract then it seems to me more like they want him to stay rather than offering a new deal.
  16. If Ancelotti can get Drogba playing at the top of his game again, then it is great for us to offer Didier a new deal. It is important at this time to have our most important players tied into good deals.
  17. It's possible, but Di Santo is suited to the lead striker role, where Anelka, Pato and Sturridge are less suited, so i would think there is still a place for Franco, it is down to Ancelotti though to give him the playing time.
  18. It all depends on who else we sign and who goes. I would say that Pato would play certainly more games than Sturridge, but both would get plenty of games and playing time next season i am sure.
  19. Same reason we play Anelka out there, same reason why Barcelona play Henry or Eto'o out on the wings. It just adds to our potency, the wide players have the freedom to cut inside and the 3 to interchange.
  20. Yes the idea of adding Sturridge and Pato to our attack is pretty exciting. Both i believe are able to play on the wing as well as the centre forward position.
  21. Strange move from Barry's point of view. You have to think that they are offering him a pretty large chunk in wages. It is highly unlikely that Man City will have attained Champions League football by the end of the season. Even if they do bring in a lot of decent players it is going to be too soon for them to challenge the top 4 i think.
  22. We would all love to sign Kaka, and lets hope the stories are true and we are trying to hijack the bid! One thing i would say is that it is massively unlikely that AC Milan would sell both Kaka and Pato, whilst Kaka is a massive world star now, it would also be of massive benefit to us to sign the stars of the future.
  23. Everything is a roumer until confirmed by Chelsea. We have been told we have signed both Zhirkov and Sturridge now, neither of which has been confirmed. I would think that Sturridge would be very likely. We have been after him for a long while now, and picking up top English prospects is very important at the moment. We will have to wait and see, if it is done then Chelsea will confirm it soon enough.
  24. Just roumers at the moment. But i would be more than happy to see us sign him. Good young player with an eye for goal. A big talent for the future and with the added bonus of being English.
  25. Not been signed yet, but yes i assume he probably will be staying.
