No problem at all with us letting Deco go........................
-
Your probably right. Having good defenders has never been Madrid's strong point. And they even underestimated the lynchpin of their last "Galactico" era - Makelele..... But that is one hell of an attack they will have for next season: Kaka, Ronaldo and Villa
-
Lol. Madrid would be very stupid indeed after securing Ronaldo and Villa to not get some very reliable defenders.

Sergio Aguero joins the other Manchester club

I agree, Villa was never going to go anywhere other than Madrid. Milan were never going to let Pato go after selling Kaka. They say his release clause if 55m, i say we should just go for it and get a real gem of a player. It looks like it would be either Aguero or Ribery by the looks of things, Ribery we would have to pay about the same for and i would much prefer Aguero. -
You would think that we would start to see some movement sooner or later, in's and out's. Pre Season starts 1st July and we would want to have our squad ready for then, especially as we our going to be over in the states for a long period of the summer. If we sign Aguero or Pato then we are really moving in the right direction and making the right statement of intent. However it is far from certain we could get them which would leave us going for who? Villa, good player but wants to stay in Spain. Ribery? Good player but massively overpriced.

Fantastic player no doubt, but his fitness is far too much of an issue, which is a massive shame.

Man Utd will be considerably weaker now after this sale. Even though they will most certainly go out and buy a big name player they still will be a weaker side. It doesn't look like Madrid's spending will stop there either, £40m+ for David Villa next in line and then who knows who else..... Real Madrid have turned this transfer window on it's head with the money that has been put out. So much money being talked about for so many players, and potentially a lot more very big signings in the pipeline form various clubs..
-
Unbelievable. I have to be honest i didn't think United would let him go. Madrid are going nuts this summer, if they get Villa as well then that is going to be one hell of an attack! The should really be looking for some defensive options as well though.
-
Very tough to call between Aguero and Pato, but i went for Pato purely because of his goalscoring record at AC Milan for his age is just incredible....

Very excited about the prospect of us signing Aguero. This would be a massive sign that we are moving in the right direction. -
Fortunately it is not up to Man City how much compensation they get. And i am sure it would be no-where near in the region of £10m.....
-
As everyone has said i do hope the club keep him around next season and give him enough games to be happy and to also progress his career. He is an excellant centre back and perfect partner for someone like JT or Alex, a fast reader of the game.
-
AC Milan will very much not want to let Pato go. It will depend on 2 things. Firstly if Milan's financial situation is bad enough for them to need to sell, and secondly if the player can force them to let him leave.
-
Yup, Mancienne another who can play that position. I would be suprised if Belletti was still here next season to be honest. The sort of player we should definately be moving on to allow our squad to improve...
-
Mancienne had a few chances, which was good to see. His lack of chances, and Stoch's was mainly down to Hiddink to keeps things going to win give us the best chances of winning something. Hopefully Ancelotti will see enough of them both in pre season to know they are worth keeping about next season and will get some games.
-
Actually, when those 2 are missing there is no-body to play the role. Ballack can be a temporary cover but not ideal. Jack Cork could be a young option, but again not ideal. Could be we are going to bring in another midfielder this summer who can play the holding role effectively. Kalou will not be a huge miss, he has been very much on the fringe and there is a small possibility he may not even be here next season. Drogba will be a much bigger miss, but we have Anelka and more than likely we will be bringing in another striker this summer so we will have the cover there. The ACN is a massive pain in the backside to clubs that have a number of Africans in their teams.

I wonder if Platini will have anything to say about Madrid's spending?? It certainly looks like Villa is off to Madrid, which is no suprise considering he has said he doesn't want to leave Spain. Madrid certainly do not mess about when going after their transfer targets. I wonder which "Galactico" will be next on their shopping list?
-
It wouldn't be as much of a problem, but as our current strike force are both in their 30's and then add Villa at 28 you are looking at MORE massive investment in the next couple of years. It would certainly be better to deal with the issue now than invest £30m+ now and again a year or 2 down the line. If we spend a reported £40m+ on either Pato or Aguero who even though their ages are very young they are already considered World Class then we have much much better value for our money and a much more stable future for the squad.

"If given the chance" is there key there!! Stoch has great ability, but these kids need to be given the chance to show they have what it takes to challenge our established players for a place in the starting 11. Having watched Stoch since he came to Chelsea i think he has done very well to keep stepping up to the next level. Even with the first team when given the chance showed he had the ability to produce at that level, the problem is that then his chances to progress stopped.

Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne insists he is ready to bide his time in order to break into new boss Carlo Ancelotti’s side. The England Under-21 international enjoyed a successful loan spell at Wolves last season, but after returning to Chelsea in December he found his route to the first team blocked. The 21-year-old has not ruled out the possibility of going out on loan again in order to play regular football, but says his priority is on impressing in pre-season. “I just want to take it as it comes and to try and break into the Chelsea team,” he said. “If I don’t then I’ll have to see what happens from there. “I have world class international players in front of me, so I just have to be patient and bide my time because I don’t think you can break into the side at a young age. “I would like to see what happens in pre-season, I just want to impress.” Mancienne grabbed his first England goal on Monday night in the Under-21s 7-0 demolition of Azerbaijan in their final warm-up before jetting off to the European Championships in Sweden. The defender believes the tournament will give him the ideal platform on which to showcase his talents and impress new boss Ancelotti. “We have a pretty good chance at this tournament,” he added. “We have a strong side so we should do well and I’m confident. “I want to play well in this tournament no matter what, even if there wasn’t a new manager, but having a new boss means I obviously have to impress him. So it’s important I do well.” Source: Setanta Sports

Depends how bad Milan financial problems are that Kaka was talking about. I would have thought though that it would have been either Kaka OR Pato leaving not both. But Pato is certainly one of the 2 players i would most like us to sign. It is certainly a good sign that Pato is willing to think about a move, but there is more to it than that unfortunately.
-
Impossible to know until he comes back. But he has had a couple of bad injures now, this one is obviously the worse one. Such a shame as it COULD slow his progress and limit his potential, and he is clearly the most gifted player we have in our academy. Had he not suffered his injuries who knows where he would be now.

Good, all the crap about Sky not being allowed all the fixtures to make it "fair" for viewers and then Setanta gets them and it's ANOTHER subscription. Thankfully i never got Setanta, bloody pain for some England games, especially as i thought all qualifiers had to be shown on terestial TV....
-
To be honest i would much rather we went for Aguero or Pato or someone of a similar age. We need to build going forward long term, with 2 30+ strikers on board already we need to sign someone in their early 20's to give us something for a longer term. Villa at 28 will get 3 years, 4 max out of him. Whereas if we sign Aguero or Pato we could get 10 plus years out of them.

I think it is a load of tosh!!!
